This was our first time here and my 4 yo daughter and her friend had a great time painting together! The storefront is welcoming and a great location right next. Parking was easy since we came right at opening but there are plenty of spaces in the back parking garage. I definitely recommend making a reservation online for your party. It's very easy to do on their website. Walking in we were greeted warmly by the staff and he explained the process to us. All the painting materials and form are on the table all set up and there shelves upon shelves of ceramic projects we can choose from. There were so many choices from small plates to big jugs and lots of seasonal and fun things for any occasion. The space is open, bright, and so colorful! It looked like there was a nice space in the back area for bigger parties. Our friend's daughter did a simple small plate ($25!) and my daughter painted a bigger skull plate ($33) and everything has a huge range it just depend on what you want to paint and how much money you want to spend. This is definitely about the experience and spending time doing something fun and relaxing together but I still got a little sticker shock. They also charge $6/kid and $10/adult studio fee. We felt very comfortable here and was not rushed The turnaround on the things we painted was very fast (less than a week!) The staff were so friendly and helpful and it was a great experience for the girls and they were very proud of their work! My daughter and I have been going to various "CMM's" since she was 5. Since then, the company has really dialed in the whole process. It's a really nice way for me and the kiddo to spend a little time together. The place is on the smaller side, but you don't really notice unless the tables get full. You should pre book a table or you might not get to paint. There is one bathroom at the Tanasbourne location and it's a single stall. The helpers will get paint for you and you can bring drinks in. The ceramics are a bit pricey, but you're paying for the time you spend there, the paint you use and the assistance from the staff, with the purchase of the ceramics piece. So, keep that in mind. I usually take about 10 visits to finish a project, and only have to pay the one time for the piece. I do think there is a $10 sitting fee if you don't buy a new ceramic. Which I feel is fair. I always seem to meet the nicest people there. read more

This ceramic painting shop in the Streets of Tanasbourne is a ceramic painters paradise! They have a wide variety of ceramic sculptures to choose from with prices varying from $10-$150 depending on the size and intricacy of the art. Both of the artists who assisted us in receiving the paint and other necessary supplies were super helpful and friendly, and they were very on top of checking in and assisting us promptly when needed. They have the option for reservations but they are not required as we were able to walk in and get a table easily. The location is perfect as there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby if you have some time to spend in the area. I'm really disappointed with our recent visit to Color Me Mine. We took our twins there to celebrate their birthday, expecting a fun and welcoming experience, but that wasn't the case. From the start, the staff didn't seem very friendly or approachable, which made things feel uncomfortable. The bigger issue, though, came with how they handled my involvement in helping my child. One of my twins is neurodivergent and needed some support with her piece, so I stepped in to assist her. I wasn't creating anything of my own--just helping her participate. At no point was I told that I would be charged a full adult studio fee for this. It wasn't until after we had already left and I checked the receipt that I realized I had been charged. That felt really unfair and honestly a bit deceptive. If that's their policy, it should be clearly explained upfront so parents can make an informed decision. Between the lack of friendliness and the surprise charge, the whole experience left a bad impression--especially on what was supposed to be a special birthday outing. I really hope they reconsider how they communicate their policies and approach families who may need a little extra support. read more

I love this spot so much. I've come to paint more often as an adult than I ever have as a kid. It can be a little pricey dependent upon the item you select but all prices are on the bottom of the item so no surprises! You have full access to everything except the paint... which sucks a little if you're needed a lot of one color. I felt bad for the gentleman who helped my mom and I. We had to get like four refills to cover the inside of the plate and not be streaked. He, the employee, was wonderful though! So friendly, making jokes, giving recommendations... he was personable and clearly enjoying his job. He was on top of our never ending need for paint. The place was clean, well lit, good music playing but not too loud so we were able to maintain a conversation. They said it takes about ten days to get a call to pick up your items, so I'll update the review with that process when it happens! Otherwise, something I thought was awesome was that if you (or your kids) didn't have the attention span or time to complete a piece you can take it home and bring it back to finish later! read more

We made reservation online for a 2-hr time block (no charge at booking). The store is across Takumi Sushi & behind REI. I parked in front of REI and took stairs down to the store. This is a cute little shop with a lot of pottery selection in a fun and clean environment. After we got to our table, we first picked the pottery we loved. Price varies depending on the size of your selection. A mug was $20 and some larger selection can be $125, just to give you an idea. After we picked our pottery, we went back to our table and choose the paint colors. You can get more colors and refill later as needed. Make sure to number your paint based on the reference they gave you. The staff there was super friendly and attentive! The activity was very therapeutic, not only it was an artistic activity, it also required some brainwork because the paint color is not exactly the color it will appear after glazing and firing. For instance, I wanted a light purple in the final product and the paint came in a shade of blue; yellow in green... so as I painted, I had to switch, in my head, what I saw to what it would be after the chemical reaction post glazing and firing. It will take about 7-10 days before the product is ready in its final form (post glazing + firework). read more

Our friends seem to spend an inordinate amount of time here. I was discussing this with Wife N., and she mentioned that one of these days, we should probably go. Fast forward a couple weeks, and what should mysteriously bless my e-mail inbox but a Groupon for Color Me Mine. Well, never to be one that passes up a good deal for a place I wanted to visit anyway, we snapped up that shiny Groupon and headed in a week later. Wife N. is the artist type. She could take one tube of paint, and paint a sepia-toned acrylic masterpiece. But, look, I'm not the artsy fartsy type. I never will be. And I accept that about myself. I'm that guy who sets out to draw Haystack Rock off Cannon Beach, only to end up with a three-inch wide blue mass and and something that with the correct level of imagination (and enough booze intake) could resemble a rounded brown triangle. Or a turd. So, walking into this place and immediately seeing empty canvasses in the shape of everything you can imagine struck just a modicum of fear into my heart. Wife N. thought she'd arrived in heaven. But we spent our 20 minutes perusing every white-colored ceramic piece and settled upon our selections. Wife picked a lovely mug with a fairy design (because if my wife could have fairy wings, she would) and I picked a switchplate--because it was square, flat, and dealt loosely with something that runs on alternating current. Next came the color selections. And templates. And Brushes. And sponges. And you know, all that stuff that craft fairs are made of. I stuck with simple, muted colors, and drew my simplistic design. Wife, true to form, went all out, coloring the inside, the outside, the bottom, and doing pinpoint-fine detail work on her beautiful little fairy. Now, the way this works is you paint with colors that are nothing like what your final work will look like. Dark greens are like a muted mint. A deep brown paints a yellowish-tan. Grays are white, and so on. So you spend your 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes and basically paint something that looks like you did it under water. Then, you hand it to the lovely, bubbly, friendly lady across the counter and say bye-bye to your precious masterpiece for a week or two. They kidnap it and send it to a special color-intensifying shiny school where it emerges a week later as this really nice looking, glossy, ceramic piece that looks like some pro did it.---or, my wife's did anyway. Mine came out like a darker glossier version of the junk design I started with. Garbage in, really intense glossy garbage out. Okay, so, for those that have a modicum of artistic desire or capacity, this place is pretty decent. It gives you the ability to walk in, buy a little white chatchke, and turn it into a glossy not-white chatchke. But for a price. They charge you a "studio fee", on top of the cost of the piece. And those pieces run about the same price as buying a completed, professional one. So this is something you do for the experience, and hanging out making a mess of everything with friends. But not really because you're trying to save any money, because you won't. This is a "friends and fellowship" activity, with a commensurate price tag. In all, it's a fun thing to do once or twice with your spouse. But unless you're really into painting ceramics, probably not something you'll want to spend a bunch of money on over and over. Including the Groupon, our two pieces still came to about $40-something. Without the Groupon, it would have been near $60. The place is okay, and I wish them all the best. But this isn't really my thing. read more

My daughter and I enjoyed our experience at Color Me Mine. It took way longer to paint something than we thought it was going to. We both picked out small gnomes. It took us over three hours to paint them. You have to paint multiple coats depending on how dark you want your creation. The staff was very nice and friendly. The girl told us we could come back and finish another day if we wanted to. She also offered us as much and as many colors of paint as we wanted. This is good because this isn't a cheap project. It cost us $66 for two gnomes. Also, don't expect to bring your art work home right away. I had to come back in a week and pick it up. They turned out very cute. I do wish they had drinks or snacks, we were there a very long time. read more

I had seen the shop from across the mall and was intrigued. Today I dropped in with my friend's 9-year old twins. We were welcomed in, and the entire process was explained. Everything we needed was provided and there are so many options. We chose pottery (a cat and a Wolverine piggy bank) and colors, there are so many color choices. There is a well stocked supply station with lots of brushes, etc. The staff was so helpful and attentive. We had a wonderful time. The prices are reasonable and very good value for the experience we had. You have to wait for the pottery to be glazed and fired, but we are excited to see the finished pieces. read more

The staff is always extremely friendly & inviting. They offer help and check on you often, but never to the point of being annoying. Large, clean workspaces and a good amount of pieces to pick from. The brushes are actually nice quality and they have a ton of different sizes and shapes and an awesome color selection. I've never had an issue with anything and have been several times - the only thing is it can be a bit spendy. I'd almost rather have them worked into the prices of the pieces. Okay, I went here like once a few YEARS ago. I had a great time, pottery collection was expansive and I was able to pick up my pieces soon. I made a koi fish that I still love and a mug that I keep my pencils in. BUT, they keep badgering me on my email like every week! I've been here once and while it was fun I'm tired of he emails. EDITED: I had this at two starts until some friends told me in my local moms group that THEY DO CALL TO REMIND YOU TO PICK UP! So for some reason I was skipped? Thanks, but I'll over pay somewhere else. While I found while painting to service to be wonderful (Cassie is awesome), I guess I expected too much. I paid $30 for a cookie jar or flour jar whatever it is called, and they took my number, it was going to take me several days to finish, I had just had a c section and was using my very few precious kid free nights that my husband gave me to try to do this. So far I had put two days in, all in June. I for some reason thought that they would call me if I got to my 60 days of being there but I was wrong. I called because life gets in the way, I have two kids under two, I had just finished moving and honestly as a new mom how much time do I really have to leave the house? I called and Anthony I believe his name was, rushed through the conversation, told me only if I had the receipt from JUNE that they would let me paint a new one, and he was sorry but they don't call. When I asked why they write down my name and phone number then, he had no response to but to say he will have a 'manager' call me in a few days and as soon as he got my phone number he hung up on me. I'm quite upset, I get that they can't keep things on the shelf, I do, but this wasn't an UNPAID item. I paid in full, the first visit. I paid good money and I know for a fact they didn't 'donate' it like they said because it wasn't fired up yet, it wasn't finished so I know that they just washed it off and put it back on the shelf. So I hope they enjoy my $30 dollars for that flour jar because I will be sure not to go back. I went the first time in a group, a girls night out party and I will be sure to let everyone I know how rude Anthony was to me about it. Can't take the time to say good bye to after I find out that I paid you for a big fat nothing.
