The Staff here at Blicks arts is friendly knowledgeable & insightful. I came across a good chunk of items weather in brand name or items themselves that are not stocked at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.   I've known friends in the past who shopped known places before discovering this art store. Once they shopped here they swore up and down that this is their first stop for painting their personal Picasso or that picture they hang in coffee shops & others places they'd love to sell.    After looking around here with my sis and spending a little time here. I would recommend any artists starting out, noivce or professional to shop here for their project needs. I shopped in this particular store in Robinson Township once. The store had a large selection of merchandise. I saw decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas, mirrors, candles, some small furniture, fabric and yarn, flowers, party decorations, art supplies, model vehicles, paints, etcetera. Prices were reasonable. I bought only a couple of small items, because I did not really need anything. I personally would visit this store mostly for holiday decorations, although I do think that it would be good for people who have artsy hobbies. The cashier rang up my purchase promptly and accurately, and she politely thanked me.

I personally own a few things from this shop, and I also keep it in mind as a local shopping option whenever a holiday or birthday is coming up. The items produced and sold here are all fantastic. From Steeler Nation and "nebby" mugs to pierogi magnets, the things that you think of when you think of the Steel City are very likely recognized in ceramic form at Pittsburgh Pottery. Regarding the specific items they sell, I'm particularly fond of their "Worsh" soap dispenser design, which is possibly the perfect combination of practical and Pittsburgh-centric design. The mug collection here is also great, with a variety of sizes as well as a variety of patterns (some of which also come with variations in their color schemes). Bonus points: since the business moved into a bigger storefront in Carnegie in the last couple of years, browsing through their fabulous creations is even more enjoyable. The extra space to walk and admire the store makes for a very relaxing visit, and the large front windows help to illuminate the shop and highlight the gorgeous ceramics. Plus, the new storefront even includes a "sale nook" - a little side room with items that, while still beautiful, have some sort of imperfection that has earned them a discount price. I don't…read morethink this location is as big as the one in the South Hills Village area, but it has everything that I personally need and like, ranging from seasonal decor to cute storage/boxes to fake but great floral garlands and wreaths. I also worked with this specific Michaels a few years back to get a painting framed for my mom. They got the job done pretty quickly (I think it took two to three weeks if I remember correctly), and made sure I was happy with the results before I took the painting home. I definitely try to shop local when possible, so that's the biggest reason I'm not a regular shopper here. But I'll still drop in occasionally, especially if TikTok alerts me to great cute seasonal merch. (Shoutout to the cute 2024 Halloween collection!)
