It is part mystical supply shop, part LGBTQIA+ community haven, and entirely magical. The vibes are completely unmatched. They carry everything from gorgeous crystals, dried herbs, and incense to the most hilarious, hyper-specific queer greeting cards, stickers, and local tarot decks. Some of my absolute favorite personal purchases (bought a ton of gifts here for friends) have been a beautifully curated set of spell candles, some stunning local art prints, and a steady supply of irreverent LGBTQ+ stickers that now permanently decorate my laptop. Many of the stickers were parts of gifts purchased here for friends. It's the kind of whimsical, accepting neighborhood gem where you drop in just to look around and walk out with a bag full of magical goodies and a drastically improved mood.

You can also get a broad assortment of Pride flags representing various gender identities, orientations, etc., as well as a number of independently published (and actually useful!) self-help chapbooks - some geared toward neurodiverse folk and others towards the general public. And if none of those things apply to you, there are plenty of novelty gifts (pins, bumper stickers, etc.) with witty slogans to go around. Fun location and going here is one of the highlights of leaving Pittsburgh proper to visit the town of Millvale.

The merchandise includes jewelry (e.g., necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and pins), apparel (e.g., gloves, hats, t-shirts, onesies, and bibs), bath products (e.g., soaps, beard balm, aftershave, and shower steamers), foods (e.g., olive oil, vinegar, seasonings, and dog and cat treats), stationery (e.g., stickers, greeting cards, and magnets), and home decor (e.g., candles, coasters, prints, and knick-knacks). I bought one pierogi magnet for five dollars. This magnet sticks well to my refrigerator in my kitchen, and it looks cute.

Their jewelry is locally hand made and goes anywhere from traditional to whimsical motifs including Harry Potter, Disney, Hamilton the musical, mosaics, and even dried flowers! Their booth only carries a limited selection of what's in the store where they have partnered with local food vendors such as Olive and Marlowe, as well as other Pittsburgh vendors to sell you almost anything. You can find stickers, clothing, caps, coasters, keychains, soap, candles and so much more! I was able to chat with Jenny who is one of the owners of the business who told me that they offer various craft classes in the store as well as unique themed parties such as Harry Potter for kids. If attending a class is not your bag because of the pandemic then on occasion you can purchase a craft kit in store and arrange for a Zoom class on a particular day to make your craft. They are very flexible when is comes to meeting people exactly where they are. You can find most anything on their website. Have something in particular in mind? Just contact them and they will accommodate your every need. During my visit I picked up two pairs of earrings with surgical steel backs. Jenny gave me some rubber stoppers with my purchases to insure they won't get lost. I purchased a pretty teardrop stud earring set and the Hamilton inspired earrings. I'm all set to enjoy one of my favorite Broadway musicals-"Hamilton." I also learned they do "Wicked the musical" jewelry if you are fond of that show. It's a great place to buy local made arts and crafts showcasing Pittsburgh. Although they are based in Lawrenceville across from Children's hospital, you may run into this business at various events with the last one I saw them at was VegFest. They were also at Picklesburg. Jenny told me that If I ever make to the shop itself the cheapest parking is at Children's Hospital across the street for $3.00. Not a bad deal if you are looking for parking in the area. Will be looking forward to visiting their store this fall to check out their other offerings.

The first time I went, I was looking for a watch to remember my father. Noel was so sweet and friendly to work with! I was liking 2 of the Cartier watches and I chose the Panthere to purchase that day. I went again for their official grand opening, to look for something for my milestone birthday coming up. I like to buy myself something special each year or a trip. I'd been looking all over NYC and online for some art deco pieces and found 2 beautiful Penny Preville pieces. I requested to work with Noel again because she is so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I initially was thinking I would get a bigger watch and once she showed me the art deco diamond Penny Preville pieces, I knew that's what I was going to buy! She has multiple pieces that you could make into a set or buy individually. I chose the larger ring and medium necklace from her 50th year of designing collection. I LOVE them! I really enjoyed both of my luxury shopping experiences at Orr's Jewelers in the Strip District. Thanks Noel for selecting pieces that you knew I would love! I highly recommend Orr's Jewelers and Noel Voorhees!

While the watch was fully functional when I dropped it off, it was returned to me inoperable. It became clear that, despite their authorized status, Orr's lacked the technical proficiency required to replace a battery and re-set a watch with the delicate Caliber 212P quartz chronograph movement. I ultimately had to take the watch to Cartier directly to repair the damage that Orr's caused. My point: If you do not have the expertise to handle a specific movement, it's OK to just say so rather than risk damaging a client's timepiece.

When you step inside, you'll see their jewelry case with all genuine metal, hypoallergenic pieces that you can leave in forever. They have a range of options, including gold, diamond, and cubic zirconia. A friendly lady at the front will guide you through all the jewelry options. I chose this place because of its cute, dainty jewelry, which is perfect if you like smaller pieces. The process is straightforward: you pay separately for the piercing and the jewelry. The piercing itself is $60, and you'll need to buy the stud or back piece, which costs an additional $18. The jewelry ranges from $85 and up. My final cost was around $300 for a genuine gold piece with a real diamond. The studio was clean, and the piercer was incredibly knowledgeable, laid-back, and easy to talk to. I'm already planning my next visit and looking forward to getting another piercing. We even mapped out my ear for future piercings!
