I had the wonderful opportunity to tour this place tonight. I had never been before and it was incredibly interesting. Everything in the center is donated. No matter how many times you walk through you will always find different things. There is a section that is fabric, yarn, knitting needles, and other goodies related to sewing. There is a section of paper and cards. There is a section of vintage items that includes old cameras, old photographs, and other odds and ends. There is a bulk section that has folders, straws, wrapping paper, plastic containers of all shapes, and a lot of other items to check out. My favorite space was the enormous vintage card catalog that held lots of tiny things in each drawer. There was a drawer of bells, a drawer of bubbles, a drawer of temp tattoos, a drawer of game pieces, the list goes on and on. I had so much fun looking through all of the drawers. I love how everything is organized and the range of items they have. The staff is fantastic! I love how the center not only offers classes there but also goes out into the community to do classes. I didn't walk out empty handed. I bought a few things to paint with 4 little girls that I get to hang out with on occasion and then I bought their family a gift certificate. That's right! A gift certificate. Now that family can go in and find some treasures. It's a great place for teachers of any kind to shop or homeschoolers. Or if you have donations this is a great place to donate to. Just go and check it out. You will be glad you did.

The lovely green facade in case you can't find it!

I love this place---you can find anything and everything here for reasonable pricing. The store can be overwhelming so it's best to walk in with a project and list of materials in mind. The creatively crafted signs overhead help customers identify different sections of the store. Also great, volunteer here and you can get a discount on your purchase. In short, you should visit this place at least once especially if you love crafting!

My husband and I shopped at this particular Michael's in the Waterfront shopping center. No employees greeted or assisted us as we walked around the store, but we found what we wanted. The shelves were stocked full with merchandise, and the prices were reasonable. This store had a good selection of small paint brushes for my husband's hobby, and I liked the selection of Christmas decorations.

The first time I noticed this, I was using self checkout. She was pretending to clean a machine but also very obviously side eyeing me and looking over my personal cards? I get that theft might be something that happens here and Im sorry if It is, but her behavior makes me feel bad. The second time I went to pay, I ended up being short and I asked an employee to take an Item off. Shortly after the same lady busts out of the back room and stares daggers at me like Im trying to steal or something. Very weird woman. Other than that, good store.

Their jewelry is locally hand made and goes anywhere from traditional to whimsical motifs including Harry Potter, Disney, Hamilton the musical, mosaics, and even dried flowers! Their booth only carries a limited selection of what's in the store where they have partnered with local food vendors such as Olive and Marlowe, as well as other Pittsburgh vendors to sell you almost anything. You can find stickers, clothing, caps, coasters, keychains, soap, candles and so much more! I was able to chat with Jenny who is one of the owners of the business who told me that they offer various craft classes in the store as well as unique themed parties such as Harry Potter for kids. If attending a class is not your bag because of the pandemic then on occasion you can purchase a craft kit in store and arrange for a Zoom class on a particular day to make your craft. They are very flexible when is comes to meeting people exactly where they are. You can find most anything on their website. Have something in particular in mind? Just contact them and they will accommodate your every need. During my visit I picked up two pairs of earrings with surgical steel backs. Jenny gave me some rubber stoppers with my purchases to insure they won't get lost. I purchased a pretty teardrop stud earring set and the Hamilton inspired earrings. I'm all set to enjoy one of my favorite Broadway musicals-"Hamilton." I also learned they do "Wicked the musical" jewelry if you are fond of that show. It's a great place to buy local made arts and crafts showcasing Pittsburgh. Although they are based in Lawrenceville across from Children's hospital, you may run into this business at various events with the last one I saw them at was VegFest. They were also at Picklesburg. Jenny told me that If I ever make to the shop itself the cheapest parking is at Children's Hospital across the street for $3.00. Not a bad deal if you are looking for parking in the area. Will be looking forward to visiting their store this fall to check out their other offerings.

Walking Carson Street you wouldn't think to look twice while passing it. It honestly looks like it could be somebody's house. Much like some of the places that dot the street. The only reason we knew to enter here was that the door was open to the store. When you walk in you are greeted by an employee (possibly the owner). Very helpful she was, she also informed us that there is more merchandise to look at on the upper level and backroom. When she said upper level we assumed the four or five steps it took to get up to the platform from the main floor. Nope, we were wrong. The upstairs of the place had stuff in it. Remember back when I mentioned this looked like someone's house. Well, when you walk up to the platform area it's really the dining room. The backroom, really a kitchen. Upstairs, bedrooms with closets. Really odd, but also really unique for a set up for a store. Each room of the "house" was stocked with items you would find in that particular room. Napkins, pot holders and what not in the kitchen and so forth. As for the merchandise in here. Definitely one of a kind type of items. Photographs of various Pittsburgh landmarks, bracelets galore and just everything you could imagine an artist creating is for sale in here. Once I move into a bigger place I can guarantee you I will be coming here for some prints to hang on my wall. They even have some awesome items that make you think, "Why didn't I think of that before?" I also imagine if Pintrest was a store, this would be what it was based on. I examined some of the items and then thought to myself, 'remember this, you are going to try and do this yourself at home.' Prices vary, but you have to remember you are paying for the artist here. I assume most the revenue from the prices goes back to the artist that generated the abundance of items in here.
