I talked with Charlie 3 times, and each time he was very ambiguous about when he could schedule cleaning. Each time I talked with him he pledged to call me "tomorrow" to schedule a time to clean my carpets. I waited two days after each conversation with him without a return call and called again. Each time, he pledged to call me the next day. I even made it easy for him - I texted him and asked him to just tell me if he was unable to do the job. I was in a bind due to my dog making a mess in my toddler's bedroom and concerns for pet dander, but the business owner answered my call right away (even though he was headed to a medical appointment). Between my 3 messy sons and 2 cats, my light colored carpets were horribly stained. There was something that looked like fruit punch in one room that I was sure was not coming to come out. Charlie, the owner, came out himself and went through every room carefully to ensure he was using the right product to remove every stain. These guys did an amazing job on our new house. Very professional and has been in the carpet business for years, so you don't have to worry about same untrained person doing your carpets. He's also very customer service oriented, very concerned that the job is done beyond expectations, and that his customer is completely, unequivocally happy with the job. Charlie recently cleaned my off-white wool Pottery Barn area rug. When he took it to be cleaned, it had a large and noticeable yellow stain where my dog had peed and I had tried to clean it with household remedies. Additionally, my cat had also peed on it, so the carpet also had a distinct pet odor about it. Not only is the carpet now beautifully clean, the stain that I had created from trying to clean the dog urine is invisible. The carpet also doesn't smell of urine at all, which anyone with a cat knows is a pretty remarkable feat. I had to find a carpet cleaner to clean my Mom's carpets and very high quality oriental rugs while she was in the hospital recovering from an injury. I traveled in to Richmond from out of town to take care of things and found Certi-Green based on a recommendation. Her rugs and carpet had not been cleaned professionally ever! The Certi-Green folks arranged on very short notice to be there and went so far above and beyond to truly transform the entire home. Charlie and his team were incredible. I did quite a bit of research on carpet cleaning and they are all not the same. I love how the products they use were eco friendly and safe for kids and pets. I had about 12 rooms total that needed to be done prior to me moving into my new house. The previous owners had a couple large dogs and there were spots everywhere. Not only that there was filtration stains, paint, and rug stains in a few spots. Now nothing is a guarantee to get out of rugs but they did an excellent job. I was more than happy with the job the did and the price they asked for (very reasonable- after researching). All in all I would recommend them for sure for your carpet needs. I'm giving Certi-Green 5 stars for my carpets, but 3 stars for pricing. Charlie and Certi-Green did wonders for my carpet. He cleaned all the carpeted rooms in my house and they look like new and smell so much better. He and his team removed stains that other carpet cleaners could not remove. I was not present when he cleaned my carpets, but my mom said you could tell he takes pride in his company and the work they do. Now, with that said, I could not pin him down on a price. Before looking at my carpets, I gave him the dimensions of the rooms and told him the carpets were very dirty (and that I have 3 pets) and he quoted me a price over the phone. Once he got to my home and was able to see the carpets and use his black light, he quoted me a higher price, but that was okay, because I knew they were dirty and had urine stains and I was willing to pay to get them clean. But, after the job was done, he added another $50 to the price because he used more cleaner than expected for the dog urine. What upset me is he did not call to ask me if he could use more cleaner, thus raising the price, or call to notify me he added another $50 to the price (I was at work). My mom ended up paying him the difference. Also, he cleaned a room I did not ask him to clean. I know that he thought he was providing good customer service, but he really should ask before cleaning a rug I did not desire to have cleaned. I would use him again in a heartbeat, as long as he is willing to give me a quote in writing. read more

The previous owners of our current home had pets, and they made a complete mess of the carpets in the basement. For the longest time I couldn't figure out what some of the stains were. When Charlie came in he immediately knew just by the smell. He told me exactly what the stains were and how he was going to remove them. He also told me that there was a moisture problem in the basement and suggested a dehumidifier, which was something I hadn't thought of. I worried about carpet cleaning chemicals because we have children and he explain to me that he uses the best environment friendly products out there, so I shouldn't worry. In less than 2 hours he cleaned the entire 850 square foot basement, plus 13 stairs. I was completely amazed by the look and especially the smell of the carpets. They were like new again.
