The concierge staff is always very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, which sets the tone to all visits. The facilities are kept immaculate and always has a fresh and clean scent, with no harsh chemical cleaners or institutional type odors. The décor has an Asian flair to it and the common area is always nicely decorated to reflect the current seasons / holidays. The various staff team members that directly cared for our father over the past 12-years, were always kind and compassionate, in addition to their professionalism. As our father's care needs changed through the years, the medical and management teams worked with us to seamlessly adapt to his changing requirements. On many occasions, we had asked our father on how he was being treated, and he always answered that everyone was very nice and kind to him. This added to our trust and confidence in his wonderful care at Aegis Gardens. This facility is led by Emily Poon, Senior General Manager. We have found Emily to always being very receptive and pro-active to any of our concerns; she is very approachable, caring, and professional. As a result, we never had any issues with our father's care at Aegis Gardens in all of these years. Sadly, last month our father entered hospice. At the hospital, our family needed to choose the facility where our father would receive his hospice care. Thankfully, Aegis Gardens was one of the options; we did not hesitate in selecting them. At all times, the Aegis Gardens Health Services Director, Gigi Tamayo and her team kept our family in full communications with any changes in our father. The Aegis Gardens nursing staff who directly cared for our father, provided a high level of compassion, great professional care, and kindness to him, which helped ease the emotional pain in losing our dear father. If we were to do this all over again, our family would not hesitate in selecting Aegis Gardens. The staff and facilities made our family's difficult situation a viable one. No one ever wants to place their elderly family member in an assisted living situation, but many times, there are no other options. Our family consists of seniors, each with our personal health challenges, so we were unable to adequately provide the necessary care that our father required. There are no questions that Aegis Gardens provides that top notched option in a professional, safe, healthy, and caring manner.

He was mostly independent and mobile for the first 3+ years. He went down to the dining room for meals and enjoyed going to the cafe for snacks. He enjoyed hanging out in the living areas and chatting with other residents. Sadly, Bob did not take advantage of the many activities offered. However, he made extensive use of the shuttle to Kaiser. The shuttle was a life savior to him and also my husband and I. The facility is kept very tidy, clean and pleasant. Many of the staff have been at this facility for 8, 12, 17 and even 23 years. Bob fell on May 31, 2025 and went on hospice. He was 100% bedbound from June 2 - Dec. 29th. The staff took excellent care of him. They changed his diapers and kept him clean. They watched for bed sores. They took extra care and treated the two very small, minor pressure sores before they became an issue. The food service staff took extra care to send his favorite foods to his room. I was Bob primary family contact. The Carlton Staff was extremely kind and supportive to me and our family. We are grateful to the compassionate team at Carlton Senior Living Community, where Bob was cared for with kindness and dignity. Each day, a dedicated group of caregivers and staff made his life brighter and more comfortable. To all the members of the Carlton Senior Living Community who made a meaningful difference in Bob's life, our family will always remember their dedication and kindness with deep gratitude.

We found Carlton's cost for studio, one bedroom and two bedroom rent which includes the room, all meals and snacks, housekeeping weekly, laundry weekly, electric, cable, internet, activities, parking, transportation to appointments and weekly outings plus use of game room, TV room, and small fitness room to be quite competitive in the area. Our parents are independent but staff check in on residents at each meal whether they have been in the dining room and if not, they swing by the apartment to make sure all is well. My mother was recently ill in the middle of the night and contacted me and I called the care staff to check to in on her and call 911. That is peace of mind for me as I live across town or could be away on a trip. If care is needed, there is a menu of services in increments and you can add on only what you need and remove when/if its not needed. If anyone has needed care for their loved one and they still live at home, try to find a care giver for short periods of time, they usually want committed hours. On the books nursing aide/assistant care runs $40/hr and up or $30/hr off the books and up so if you need more than short spurts, in home care adds up quickly. Then add that to costs for their own home expenses, etc and you will see Carlton is very cost effective plus having care is immediate, if needed. Carlton like many similar communities are private pay. Corporate and site management are very responsive and actively involved with residents regarding issues or changes they would like to see in their "home". They work with the residents and have a formal and informal path to improve and/or problem solve. I have found them very accommodating and been very impressed. I have gotten to know many staff and residents. There are quite a number of long time staff. I have found staff to be a very warm and caring and the environment clean, pretty, and inviting. Maintenance staff are responsive to residents and accommodating to needs. Carlton has enriched and expanded our parents social lives while giving us peace of mind. We are onsite visiting 2-4 times a week and have had many great meals there. There is an adjustment period for many residents depending on the prior living situation and personal experiences. My recommendation is to be proactive and make this type of move before a crisis arises. My husband and I are very happy with our experience with Carlton Senior Living. Is the community perfect, no. No one is perfect but they do a great job. My family is safe and in a supportive environment. I appreciate that when something does arise, they are responsive, it is acknowledged and resolved to the best of their ability.

After putting our family member here he spent 4 days where not only didn't they check on him (we stayed with him while he adjusted) they also never gave him his meds even though we went over the process of transferring them with the "sales" person and the "manager" on the fourth day we arrived and he was almost comatose we called 911 got him to the ER! Pacifica told us the maintenance guy seen him in his room!! The maintenance guy?!! 10 grand a month and the maintenance guy is the only one noticing him?!!! WTF?!!!! We took him home when he was released never again! As we went back to move his stuff other families started telling us of their experiences well gee it would've been nice to hear them before. Staff members didn't say anything to any of us! I guess they were scared of a lawsuit. What we gathered was high turnover low pay and no accountability. So do yourself a favor and research research research to find a safe place for your family members. Good luck. 1 star because you have to.

We found out that this facility is under a COMPLETELY different company/management and they have entirely different staff!! The facility is getting a facelift and I kick myself in the butt for not getting photos (will try to update with some from my partner if he bring his grandma to a follow up). My partner's grandma went here after a knee replacement surgery. Kimberly and Eric made the admissions process sooo easy and comfortable for the family. After touring the facility with them, we knew his grandma would be able to stay here comfortably. His gma had a few follow up appointments with the surgeon post surgery and Eric even offered to not only take her but accompany her as well to make sure she made it back to the facility okay The nursing staff was great and attentive and I would definitely recommend this facility to others. I wish we were able to get some names of the nursing staff but grandma has been super happy and had so many nice things to say! Please don't let the older reviews fool you. I hope this facility gets the recognition they deserve ASAP!

My loved one needed to come here on two occasions; on the first occasion she was well rehabilitated, and now on the second occasion she has made some incredible progress toward the goal. The facility is not fancy looking, but they do focus their resources on what it takes to care for your loved one. They have Physical Therapy to keep your loved one moving. They accomplish amazing procedures, sometimes without need for your loved one to go visit a hospital. Key leaders in the care include Kristian (who accurately describes his nursing role as that of "honcho) and of Sia Rasheed, Director of Rehabilitation. Ask them for weekly updates, and they are able to communicate well. There is a house MD, who keeps the medical procedures on track. Two people spend most of their time guarding the entrance. Those are Raffia K. and Mary Alice Puig, who will take your temperature and sign you in while directing you where to go for your visit. Unlike the past, reasonable visiting of your loved one is allowed much of the day. Previously, there was a limit, but no more. Once when they wanted my assistance, with a tricky IV insertion, I visited until 11 p.m. Parking might at first glance seem a problem, but it isn't. There are indeed only four visitor spaces, and those will almost always be full. Don't park in the one space designated for the doctor! However, there is very adequate parking on Country Drive, and also even on Parkside Drive. So, if you want good quality clinical excellence for your loved one, Fremont Post Acute Care is the right choice. An added plus is that two cats are frequently seen near the entrance.

The person I visited here had a really bad fall after all the requests for increased safety and the staff didn't freak out. But that's barely the worst of it. The administrator was alerted about a fall hazard in the hallway to the dining area and does not want to improve it because it will cost money and possibly turn away future residents due to having to post the grievance on the wall. But that's barely the worst of it. When this person was admitted to hospice, the staff tried so hard to tell the family the person didn't need hospice and they can help her get better. It's all financial. And sadly, I'm not shocked as I'm reading previous reviews. Please spare your loved one and place them somewhere else. It is cheaper here, but that's because you get what you pay for.
