He was assisted by Nurse Laura G. who Started the procedure by explaining everything she wa going to do. She took pictures before, swabbed my chest to the area, Laura Administered 7 shots of Lidocane to numb the area. She was very poilte, friendly and professional. After Dr. B. took the skin he reoved to the lab. I went back to the waiting for about an hour. Laura came to get me, Dr. B. and Laura gave the ALL CLEAR. He then stiched up the incision and Laura cleaned it and dressd the wound. She took some pictures before she dressed it. I was checked in by Tatum and the other lady, also Jackie checked on me and comforted me as she ALWAYS does. I sent up an appointed for January21 to have th stiches remove and check someother spots. Although I had various checkups over the years and this was not identified as a concern. He biopsied it, and it is a rare sarcoma that has since been removed and thankfully caught before it spread. Which he called before the biopsy came in. This man is so smart he had never seen this type of tumor only saw it presented in conference. It is literally one in a million. He also identified a spot on my arm that I had not noticed but I know was not there very long. This was melanoma. Also caught early removed with clear margins. Dr. Kern's expertise, thoroughness and skill has essentially saved my life. He is kind, and a true patient advocate. He and Maryann supported and comforted me and my family during the stressful time of waiting for results. He referred me to a specialist to remove the sarcoma and has checked up on me several for a progress report. My husband indicates that he is a super hero. I cannot say enough about this doctor. Having been in healthcare for over 30 years I have crossed paths with many great physicians. A bonus is he has excellent surgical skill as my melanoma scar is barely noticeable.
