I went to Orthopaedic Associates a few months ago because of an ongoing hamstring injury and was…read moreseen by Amanda Pacillas, NP. During that appointment, Amanda told me she would get orders placed for both physical therapy and an MRI. I waited, but I never heard anything about either the physical therapy or the MRI. Neither happened. At the time, I let it go because I was hoping my hamstring would eventually get better on its own. Unfortunately, it didn't. It actually got worse. I recently called the office and asked about getting the MRI that I had originally been told would be ordered. Amanda's assistant told me I would have to come back into the office because too much time had passed and that insurance would need documentation that my condition had gotten worse. That didn't make sense to me. My question was simple: Why should I have to come back for another appointment to get an MRI that was supposed to have been ordered after my original appointment? I explained that I'm still having the same hamstring problem and that it has actually gotten worse. I asked whether this could be handled over the phone rather than requiring me to come back into the office. At that point, Amanda got on the phone herself and told me that it could not be done over the phone. Her tone immediately came across to me as flippant and dismissive. Rather than explaining why another office visit was necessary or addressing the fact that the MRI and physical therapy were supposed to have been ordered previously, she simply asked me, "Do you want to set up the appointment now or not?" I told her I would need to call back to schedule it. Frankly, her tone and attitude during the conversation made me question whether I even wanted to see her again. She responded, "Okay," and hung up. I understand that there can be insurance requirements and circumstances where a provider may determine that another examination is necessary. But medical orders can be handled by phone or telehealth in appropriate situations, so I don't think it was unreasonable to ask why I needed another in-person appointment--especially when the MRI was supposed to have been ordered during my original visit. If there was a specific insurance or clinical reason that required me to come back, I would have appreciated having that explained to me. What bothers me most is the lack of follow-through. I came in for a hamstring injury, was told I would receive orders for physical therapy and an MRI, and neither happened. Months later, when the injury had gotten worse and I called trying to get the MRI taken care of, I felt that my concerns about what happened the first time were dismissed rather than addressed. Amanda was actually very nice during my original appointment, which makes the experience afterward even more disappointing. Between the lack of follow-through and the way I was treated on the phone, I no longer have confidence that my injury and concerns would receive the attention they deserve if I returned to see her. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Amanda Pacillas. I hope the physicians and management at Orthopaedic Associates take concerns like this seriously. Patients should be able to expect that when they are told something will be ordered, it will actually be followed through on--and if something goes wrong, they should be treated respectfully when they call to get it resolved.

Calls are rarely, returned! I had an epidural a couple of weeks ago, and had several unusual symptoms I had never experienced. I put THREE calls into his office regarding 3 unusual symptoms and got one call back handling only one of the symptoms. I called again at night so the medical assistant would call me first thing in the morning, saying I was still concerned about my symtpoms and wanting to see the doctor and NEVER got a call back! The medical assistant is the conduit between the patient and the doctor and his medical assistants is unprofessional and doesn't seem to care for Dr. Guinto's patients. I'm frustrated and disappointed.

They rescheduled me for a week after the priorly scheduled appointment. Then they called and left me a voicemail canceling that appointment. I called the office back and they said the next appointment was months out and they'd have 'Zoe' call me. Well I never got rescheduled and never got ahold of anyone. Still no follow up appointment months later. Honestly this place is the WORST office I've ever been to. I give up. You can BET they are calling me to pay my bill though, so that's lovely. Bottom line is they push hundreds of people in and out of this place and money is all they care about. ----------------------------------------------- I saw Dr. Guinto who seemed genuine and listened to my concerns. At my first visit I had to arrive an hour early where I then waited almost two hours to be called back into the room. I then got my MRI. MRI department was wonderful. No complaints there. I had some issues trying to determine why this doctor suddenly said out of network when a week earlier it said he was in network (my insurance ended up solving the issue). The office staff was of ZERO help. They have been so rude when I have called in. Now I'm trying to schedule a follow up appointment, and they are over a month and a half out AND do not care about working around your schedule. As much as I appreciated Dr. Guinto, I'm going to try to find another doctor and go here as an absolute last resort. I have a M-F job and cannot spend 3-4 hours total waiting to be seen by a doctor. It's very difficult to even get the time off for a visit as Is.

Not only is he the coolest guy, but he is able to explain the answers to my questions in depth without hesitation in layman's terms. He is very skilled at the anesthesia and removing the water on both of my knees and explaining why and how the fluid built. Also for the future and what my possible options are as far as long term after a pretty heinous automobile accident and injury to both my knees. I thank my awesome doctor Jessica Stendel for the referral. I couldn't ask for better care! I couldn't recommend a better facility or give anyone a higher rating than this staff!

I know for a fact I haven't been the first victim to fall into their strategy of having this other physician assistant come in and be part of the surgery and he gets paid via our patient responsibility. I submitted an appeal to our insurance but they specifically said that since we signed we were responsible for the patient responsibility. In my opinion they purposely have patients sign the form knowingly this other dr assistant need his cut. Plain and simple, my wive went in for meniscus knee surgery with dr. Simonian not anybody else, but they included this assistant surgeon Crosby so he can get paid. Totally unnecessary, but since my wife was in pain and needed that surgery she signed. We are thinking they are doing this just in case right?? Nope I'm almost certain they do this every time to every client. What a fraud they are. I would never recommend this facility to anyone nor Dr. Simonian, my wive's knee still hurts. Terrible place to get treated. Don't sign anything. Go somewhere else. I'm serious.
