Worked with Jaime on 2 projects in the last month and couldn't be happier! His work ethic, timeliness, and communication skills are second to none and a rare find today. :) One thing we particularly appreciated was his transparency and honesty--installing fresh sod in the hottest part of the Summer (August 2020) isn't always the best idea. It needs to be nurtured & watched--watered twice a day to ensure it doesn't die. Jaime made sure to tell us this up front so we could prevent any unexpected mishaps after installation. We set up our own little sprinkler system on self timers and it worked like a charm. As real estate investors who flip multiple houses simultaneously, budget and aesthetics go together like peas in a pod. Together, Jaime and I came up with designs that satisfied both criteria. We had a wonderful experience with VIP Landscaping. When we bought our house last fall, it looked like it might need some work. Flash forward to spring, and it was clear, we didn't actually have grass, we had a lawn of weeds. So after getting several quotes for resodding our 1/10 acre lawn front and back, and getting garden beds put down, VIP had the most competitive bid. In one blistering day, the team came and worked 10-11 hours and had our lawn looking perfect. Worst lawn to best in one day. The scorching weather continued, and some patches got burnt despite our constant watering. VIP came out and replaced the brown patches, and we are so pleased, we referred them to some friends who were also pleased. Very happy with this company and our gorgeous lawn. read more

No more bumps, visible tree roots, or mud puddles for the dog to make a mess in. They also redesigned the front planter to match the English design of our home and relocated stones to the back deck. We chose him over three other estimates. His quote was competitive, but what sold us was him treating us like we were his family. He made two visits to our home to make sure the design was exactly what we envisioned. I had an area of grass outside of my fence that acts as a parking spot. The only problem is having to mow it and pick up all of the dog poop from the neighbors who let their pets go without picking up after them. Jaime was extremely professional and his crew did incredible work. They showed up on time and did exactly what they said they would do. They had a really small space to work with and were very efficient and mindful of not blocking the alley. They even took them grass and dirt they pulled up and filled in some areas in my back yard that were sunken. I have more work I want/need done and I'll be calling them for a quote for sure. read more

Our tenant told us they weren't there on 6/21/21, the day the billed us for. So I called in to ask about it. The guy on the phone was very rude and started yelling at me. I calmly asked him to stop yelling at me, I'm just trying to talk this out like adults and figure out if they were actually there on that day so I could get them paid. He did not stop yelling and called me a bitch at the end before hanging up on me. Would never use these guys again. Awful service. read more

First off, I don't write reviews but, this man was unbelievable. I came across certified vip on yelp, had decent reviews so I thought I would call them for a FREE ESTIMATE. At least that's what it says on their website. It's also located close to my home. On the website it states about landscape design says nothing about a price. I made an appointment and told them I wanted to redesign my front yard. Obviously, if I'm calling a company I don't design front yards. Jamie arrived at my house and was the most rudest person I ever dealt with. He walked up to the house gave me his card and said his name. So far so good. He looked at the bed in front of the house and asked what I wanted done. I said I wanted the trees removed, I want everything gone in front. I want my house to have a new front yard it's very outdated. I looked at him and I asked isn't this what you guys do "design landscape"?? I was thinking maybe I made an error. He said yes but usually I speak to my customers about what they want. I said that's why I called, I'm not familiar with yard work and design. He said if you want a design from me and my ideas it's $600. OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Nothing on the website says that it's $600 for a design. I would NEVER have called if it was $600 just for a design. I told him I just had another company here and they charged me $75 for a design and a list of plants. He said ok, turned and went into his truck. DROVE OFF!!! Jamie is a very rude person who has horrible customer service! If you do charge $600 for a landscape design you should revise your website!! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Certified Landscaping services my neighbor and I saw them outside one day. I asked if we could schedule an associate to come another day and give me a quote on general maintenance and landscaping of my property. The guy showed up almost 2 hours late for the appt and then had an attitude that I said something about his tardiness. Next, I took him around back and told him some ideas I had regarding the property. He started with asking what my profession was ???? and how much I was willing to spend. I never disclosed my profession- I'm a Doctor. But then he basically said everything would be too expensive for me.... Said I should just put wood chips everywhere. Honestly, I think he assumed I wanted cheap labor since I'm a black woman. On top of everything, he never sent a quote for any services. I emailed the company and got no response back. What an unprofessional and prejudice company!!! DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING WITH THESE CLOWNS!! read more

In the summer, I had searched all chicago land for a reputable landscaper for completely redo the landscaping for my over 15000 square-footage yard. I am so glad I went with Certified VIP Landscaping. As soon as I met Jaimie, the owner, I knew right away he was the right person for the project. He is a very skilled project manager, knows his trade. He listened carefully and understood our needs and desires. It was a large scale project with a lots of moving elements. He had to consider weather, coordinate a new commercial size (24 stations) irrigation system installation, old trees and bushes removal, new trees and flower planting, changing the landscape and grading the ground. And of course the procurement of a large amount of materials, sod, dirt, trees, plants, sometimes had to be from multiple sources. The entire project from planning, managing changes, to execution went smoothly and finished in a timely manner. I credit it to Jaime's professional project management skills and customer focus. Great company! Would definitely recommend. Seems like most companies don't want to make money nowadays (never return calls, miss appointments, answering machines are full), but Jaime was very prompt in responding to my inquiry. He came out right away and was very helpful and patient helping my wife and I come up with a landscaping layout that would work best for our property. He was very patient with us on getting the work done (we were waiting on fence company to finish installing new fence so install of landscaping had to be pushed out a couple days) and his price was more than fair. The crew was organized, polite and informative. They cleaned up after themselves and were courteous of our neighbors (no loud music, making sure to stay off their lawns and keeping blowing debris to a minimum). They also explained proper maintaince for the plants, shrubs and trees they installed. I was so impressed with the company that I am switching over from my lawn care service.
