    Cockles

We came here while listening to Rick Steve's walking tour and even though he acknowledged that Cervejaria Trindade was a touristy spot and over-priced, we were very satisfied with our experience. First of all, it is a really big space with some interesting tiles and a cool history (it used to be a monastery, then became a brewery/Lisbon's first beer hall). We got some beers which were pretty standard, and the cockles appetizer, which was AMAZING. This was my first time eating cockles but my friend and I loved it! We actually tried some cockles at a different restaurant later that day for dinner, but those just didn't hit right.. Cervejaria Trindade's were definitely more fresh and overall made better. It did take a while to get served even though we were sitting right at the bar, but our bartender/server was really nice. It also didn't look like everyone there was a tourist, so there must be enough of a draw (maybe the fresh seafood?) for local people to also come. I know if I lived in Lisbon, I would go back again and again.

The staff was very friendly and polite, even they seemed to be in training they did a good job. Minor improvements for getting everyone drinks at the same time could be done Food: Fish soup (5 stars) is a must! Likely the best soup I ever had, very rich in flavour and how much sea food there is. There were around 6 large shrimp in there. Trinidad platter(4.5 stars): half a star only to say how great the fish soup was. Comes with a whole crab, the crab dip is amazing. Goose Barnacles was something I never tried before, great taste. Be aware they squirt a lot. The whole room is an a German beer hall, lots of light and has a lot of space. I would still recommend making reservations.

A larger than life Cervejaria that is like a church for seafood lovers. Cervejaria Ramiro was closed for vacation so we were recommended to try Trinidade and I am glad we did. This place is massive and well lit, it feels like entering a grand hall for a special meal. Our waiter was efficient but warm and seemed to enjoy that we were tourists. The seafood was delicious and the portions were massive. We had the seafood platter which featured the customary "dressed crab", shrimp and prawns of various sizes, goose barnacles, and 2 oysters. Everything was fresh and we could have been satiated off of this order alone. The crab meat itself was exceptional and it was fun to hammer it apart. We also ordered a scarlet prawn which was magnificent I would come back just for that. The veal croquette was skippable and the tenderloin pica pau a Trinidade was not my favorite (it was cubed steak in a very salty sauce). In short order seafood skip meat. Overall I am surprised by the lukewarm reviews on yelp thus far and would definitely have this place on my radar if you are looking for a Cervejaria experience that highlights seafood. Sure there are likely cheaper alternatives but it was a pretty cool experience!

The left overs after we ate the barnacles...actually not bad....smoky flavor!

So we came here as a recco from Rick Steve's, very cool beer hall! We tried the barnacles, because, why not!!!

Read about this in Rick Steve's guide book, and decided since it was a sunny day and on the walking tour, we'd stop. Glorious snacks and delish Sangria (aka- breakfast wine) Great service. And the interior is a must see.

My family has Christmas lunch here and it did not disappoint. I love the vibe of the place. The service was prompt and most of all, the food was great. All five of us agreed that this was one of the best meals we had in Lisbon. We were so full we took a long walk after lunch. I've actually recommended this restaurant to my family who will be visiting Lisbon in a few weeks.

Beautiful interior and ambience. We came for drinks on a weekday afternoon and were very happy with our experience. It is over priced and touristy but we are tourists so it is okay. We just got drinks and desert and both were good!

Highly highly overrated. Way too expensive for what it is. Server also popped in on you at the most random times. We did have a large group to work with, but would recommend going anywhere else for seafood or drinks.

Really cool historic spot near the Rossio station. The restaurant/beer hall is located in an old monastery so it retained some of the stained glass, tiles and high curved ceilings. The service was fast and friendly as well. I ordered once of their beers which was excellent. The menu has a mix of the traditional Portuguese dishes like fish stew, cod, clams, octopus, pork, etc and then also tons of seafood by the pound. I wish they had a bit more prepared seafood dishes. I ended up having the seafood stew cause I was not that hungry. I was not really sure what to expect but it was a bit bland and did not have that much fish or vegetables. It was also very very fishy/ briny. The beer and ambiance was great though!

the building is beautiful, well-kept & very clean & organized. the staff is welcoming & attentive. My traveling partner ordered the seafood platter, the one with lobster. warning, it is huge, so much seafood, could feed a group of 4-6 people!!! He ate what he could & said it was delicious. The wait staff thought there was something wrong & the head manager paid our table a visit... the only thing wrong was eyes bigger than a stomach. She offered to discount the bill but we declined; a very professional & thoughtful gesture to my partners mistake, though! dessert & Porto was lovely. I would come back for sure.

As we were traveling around Lisbon we needed to forsure stop by a place with rich history and good food! It's beautiful inside almost like a museum. The food was good i thought we'd receive more than expected as the dishes were abit pricey. With the rich history and the craftsmanship of the building really made it worth it regardless.

What out for a bad service. The waiter serve bred chees and pesto even if you do not order it and you will have to pay for it.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Cozy, almost romantic atmosphere. And just €16 per person for all you can eat! The menu changes nightly so here were the stars for me: Creamed cod. Might not sound appetizing but this was insanely good. Not too fishy. Veggie lasagna - really great flavors and you sneak in some vegetables. All the sides: mashed potatoes were delicious, the rice is a staple, the couscous was perfect, the carrot soup made me say DAMN! The service was amazing. The two gentleman there ran an entire packed restaurant effortlessly. Helping customers with drinks, explaining the concept and each dish to every person that came in. We washed it down with a pitcher of white sangria (drinks and desserts are extra). We literally couldn't move. We walked back to the hotel instead of taking an Uber simply to walk some of it off. The restaurant was quaint and intimate , with a small buffet that easily fills you up. There were many options from a beef stew to a curry, a noodle dish with bacon, salad, and other options. I would definitely recommend this to all in Lisbon.
