I attended CES College from Sept. 2018 to Dec 2019 for the LVN program. I'll start out by saying it was not easy. During my time at CES, they were making changes to policies and trying to see what would work best to make the school run smoother. It definitely made it a bit harder for some of us. We were used to a certain routine. But in life, we are going to run into those obstacles everyday. Especially in nursing! So I just went along with whatever was happening, vented and moved on. All I can say is you can't expect the instructors to teach you EVERYTHING! You have to go home and study. You have to put effort in. At clinicals, it's what you make it. Put yourself out there. They don't expect you to know everything. But you won't learn unless you put the effort! Nursing school is what you make it. It wasn't easy.. but I did it. Single mom. Obstacles. Working full time. Couldn't have done it without the support of my instructors pushing me! Telling me I'd be an amazing nurse. Also...With the support of my amazing classmates who I can call my friends today... I passed my NCLEX on the first try!! After it being postponed multiple times because of Covid. At the end of the day, I have to thank CES COLLEGE!!

CES is a wonderful educational institution that delivers a quality at a very reasonable price. There is no illusion, you have to put a lot of effort to make it through the program. Experience for yourself coherent academic programs that prioritize learning goals.

Is the school open ? The phone numbers are not available

818-563-9822. Please give us a call at your convenience. If we are not answering, we are on another line helping another caller.

Is the school still open?the voice mailbox is full, and the website still says they're enrolling for 2021?

Sorry about the inconvenience. Please email us or give us a call. If we are not answering, we are most likely on another line, helping another student/applicant.

Is the schedule only nights ? Or do they also have during the day?

The classes are offered in the evenings and weekends. There are no day classes at the moment.

    Do they do online classes?

Right now the program is hybrid. Lectures are online, hands-on are in person

What's the schedule of classes (weekdays or weekends) and entrance exam?

The theory is twice a week, 5:30-10:30 pm and the clinicals are on the weekends, 7-3:30. The entrance exam is math and English.

Does anyone know which entrance exam is required for the program and when the next start date is?

The entrance exam is basic math and English

Hi , is it really an evening and weekend program including the clinicals?

Yes, all classes, including the clinicals are offered during evenings and weekends.

Do you need a high school diploma?I know some places don't require that.

Yes, you do. All nursing programs require a HS diploma or GED

For the longest time, nursing school lived in the same category as "I'll get to it eventually."…read moreEventually turned into 6-7 years of postponing, doubting myself, and wondering if I was really cut out for it. Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else take the leap to realize you can do it too. For now, though, it's time to get to work. See y'all in two years! GM.

No matter how many questions I asked or how many times I called she was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. She consistently pointed me in the right direction and made sure I had the information I needed to make informed decisions. In all honesty she is one of the main reasons I chose West Coast University. The positive experience I had working with her left a lasting impression and I am incredibly grateful for everything she did to help me begin this journey.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

My first experience was as a walk-in, and I recommend arriving about an hour early if you plan to do the same. They give walk-ins a number, and if people with appointments don't show up, walk-ins are admitted based on their number. The class was fun, engaging, and very educational. We learned CPR techniques for both infants and adults, as well as important first aid skills. As an educator, I feel it's essential to know these life-saving procedures and be prepared for emergencies. I appreciated that the class covered more than just CPR and included valuable first aid information that can help you in real-life situations. The instructor was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire class. He made sure everyone understood the material, regularly checked in with us, answered questions, and ensured that everyone stayed on track. His teaching style made the class enjoyable and easy to follow. The class was about three hours long, but it went by quickly because it was so interactive and informative. I left feeling more confident in my ability to help during an emergency. Overall, I highly recommend the CPR classes at the L.A. Care Community Resource Center in El Monte. The training is free and well worth your time. I'll definitely be coming back when it's time to renew my CPR certification!
