My wife and I come here for special occasions and last night we celebrated her birthday! As always, the service was excellent, food was impeccable, atmosphere was cozy, and a very enjoyable experience. It is a small place which only adds to the intimacy of service and atmosphere. The owner is a great guy who is very knowledgeable in all his dishes and wines which were incredible as well! We love C'est Si Bon and will continue to come here everytime we want to celebrate something at a special place!

Such a wonderful, intimate restaurant. I don't know why I don't see it written up in more places! The wine selection is always stellar and the food is rich. The restaurant owner is really passionate about all their offerings, he is extremely helpful with pairings and understanding the menu. This is a birthday spot for us every year, we look forward to coming back!

I really liked the French bistro style restaurant of the place, small, quaint, intimate. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the place is a bit smoky and could use a better hood. We were right by the kitchen, so could have been the issue. We did the tasting menu and it was very reasonably priced for a tasting menu, but then it came out and you had to share every dish including soup which I thought was a little odd. Some items were shareable while some items I felt were strange to share for example a salad. My opinion would be to make smaller portions vs sharing. I was with my husband, so not a big deal, we just thought if it were a first date we would not recommend the tasting menu. Great wines and I would definitely go back for a nibble and wine. Service was good mainly because we were the first people in. I saw them turning many people away. If you come be prepared it is more an experience and grazing vs a quick bite.

We have been satisfied customers since 2018 and have dined in and COVID take away more than a dozen times. Jon and his crew has never disappointed. Yes there have been highs and lows with the lows never derailing. This small classic French Bistro accommodates 22 per seating on a packed night. Reservations are a must. Tonight there three parties who were repeat customers think they can show up on a Friday at 7pm and expect there are open seats. We were fortunate to benefit from a new menu that consistently plays on classic French bistro faire based on fresh and seasonal ingredient's. Love to find the comforts of a classic baguette, pate, fresh greens and flavorful entree offerings. The wine list changes weekly and I would recommend allowing John to pair your wines with your order. We settled on Baguette, Fresh Greens, Scallops, salmon and friendly banter with staff. Once again not a disappointing night out.

Amazing fresh bread to accompany the escargot. Delicious buttery fish and the duck was cooked perfectly.

My top recommendation for Portland! Every time my family comes to town they ask to book reservations as soon as they book their flights. The owner John puts so much care into his restaurant and provides a welcoming environment. Chef always puts out the best food and I'm always in awe of what he creates as a 1 man team in such a small space. Very interesting international wines on the menu and fun cocktails. In true European style, this dining experience usually lasts a couple of hours. So be prepared to sit and enjoy your food and your company. The cheese bon bons are a must have!! I am a big fan of the duck and my mother can't go without having the chocolate mouse dessert.

Came here for our anniversary meal while visiting Portland, the food was amazing! As was the service. The drink pairings were perfect (great Nebbiolo) and our favorite entree was the leg of lamb. The chef came by to talk with us after and it just felt like we were treated well here, lots of personal touches (e.g. noticing I'm a lefty when setting the table). It's a charming restaurant that seats about 12 people. Great ambiance, we will definitely be back.

Had a very intimate New Year's Eve dinner here and would recommend this restaurant over and over again. I felt like I had stepped into a small restaurant in France. The seating is small and intimate and the chef cooking can be seen by the diners. (I love le pigeon and have had many dinners there but this was much more intimate of an ambience) We had a bottle of wine recommended by the owner (who also was serving on a holiday night), we started with oysters on the half shell, a beet salad, cheese bon bons (a delicious pastry filled with cheese), and for the main course we had prime rib and mussels. We finished with a chocolate mousse. The meal was absolutely magical. So happy we spent our last dinner of 2021 here. Also the owner is so kind and personable and made our night truly memorable. We will be back!

This has been the most exquisite meal we've had in quite some time!! Unique warm and beautiful interior and extremely delicious menu items on top of it all. The service is absolutely exceptional. A full house with one server and the chef and we felt well tended to. We started off with the Savoyard cheese bonbon and what arrived was what looked like a delicate peony flower with a warm cheese interior. Drinks were fantastic as well. Try the French 68 and the Pan Seared Sablefish if it's still on their menu.

Why is this place so perfect? Before i walked in I looked at the front and was like this place is tiny! But it was tiny and cute and intimate! I love everything about this place from the food to the service! We had reservations and had the whole part of the bar to ourself! The owner i believe was so about his menu and knew every little thing about it and i loved it! I literally got excited about the dishes we ordered as he spoke! All the food was soooooo gooooood! Even tho we didn't order the crepes we could see him making them in front of us! He was also very generous and let us try his favorite wine! It was so good i had to ask what it was and i do not like wine at all! I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes! This is definelty my new favorite spot :) PS: If you're looking for a good foie gras, this is the place! It's absolutely amazing!

Duck Confit, Polenta, Spinach, Fig and Port Wine. Perfectly cooked!

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.
