I kind of hoped they have expanded in the last 8 years but it's roughly the same. Cute vendors by the small alleyway where you can get knockoffs to Japanese tea to stickers. It's Japanese town so slightly unsure why there would he knockoffs there sold by a non Japanese person knowing Japan doesn't support counterfeit - to each their own. The supermarket is rather small as well. I guess it's sadly the only place where some Japan feels can be obtained. Of course pricing is quite hefty, everything is definitely way more expensive since products are imported. The custom made stickers / pins etc inside the small market were very expensive though. Very tiny pin was $8. Tempted but definitely not desperate, it was about maybe 1.5cm in size, wild. I'll just have my mom send me Japan stuff from Japan instead to be frank. It's a nice place to go for a quick stop-by though.

I had a great time browsing, but I couldn't help feeling supremely jealous of the locals filling shopping baskets with goodies to take home, something I simply couldn't do as a visitor staying in a hotel. Instead, I had to settle for wandering the aisles and stalls imagining what I'd cook if I had a kitchen. Whether you're passionate about Japanese culture or just a food nerd like me, J-Town is an incredibly fun place to spend an hour or two. They even have a place where you can play claw games. Parking can be a real challenge, especially on weekends. Pack your patience.

Its home to my favourite camera store, Aden Camera, where I purchase most of my hardware. They also have great tasting food from several outlets and stalls. A couple friends and I decided to do a food challenge to see what we could each get for CDN$20. We met the challenge and enjoyed some great tasting food. Our preferred vendors included QQ Noodle King, Go Curry, Chloe's Convenience, Hi Anna's Basket, Shark's Fin City, and Prairie Lamb Kabob. This mall has something for everyone. Check them out!

There is a central area where shoppers collect to have an ice cream or a coffee from the nearby patisserie. This area is always so lively. Despite the lively surroundings of this shopping centre, there is a calmness that comes with the experience of shopping here. Many relax in the Muskoka chairs by the fire pits or sit at the picnic tables while they let their kids roam free - a nice community feel. Security are always around and very friendly. There is a movie theatre, numerous lovely restaurants and fast food options, grocery stores, and some mid to higher end shops. They also run some very organized and exciting children's events - our favourite has to be the Trick or Treat event around Halloween. Everyone comes dressed up in their costumes and run from store to store collecting treats at participating retailers. This place is also beautiful during Christmas time. The central area turns in to a small skating rink! Would love to see more outdoor outlets in the city like Shops at Don Mills.

The huge, spotless Vietnamese grocery store is good and has everything you need. There's a longstanding, always busy fish and chip place in the plaza, an exceptional Japanese bakery and a dollar store down a flight of steep stairs. Weekends are insane here especially Saturday mornings - lots of shrieking kiddies running around. LOL. Give the P.P. a go.

I recently returned to check this plaza out. On Saturday, I was here to take in a movie at Cineplex Odeon. It pretty much anchors the open plaza of huge box stores. It's a decent place to take in a movie. There is lots of parking and the seats are comfy. There are a handful of eateries parallel and closest to Lebovic Avenue. The Real Greek, East Side Mario's, and Minerva Tiffins were doing decent business when my movie was over at around 3:30 pm. There used to be a diner called Nickels in this row of eateries. It was owned by Celine Dion. My friend and I loved eating here. It threw you back to milkshakes, sandwiches, burgers, and Montreal-style smoked meats from the 50's or 60's. It was good eats and fairly cheap. It still sits vacant as this silver-looking bullet. It's a shame. Some businesses have stood the test of time. Old Navy, Wendy's, Roots, CIBC, and Dollarama are some of them. It was nice to see that they are still kicking around. There are some newer additions that look promising. Seafood City Supermarket and Healthy Planet are huge size-wise. I'll need to check them out when I return. It's a nice plaza where you can get almost everything. It does need a drugstore, though. I came here for Dim Sum with my family and to attain some Asian baked goodies from a bakery. This mall is not design for youngsters to gather on weekends or after-school social.
