I hired them on through our local City Services to have them make videos to put up for business owners on the City's Website. Coordinating with them was atrocious. I had to call them repeatedly to find out what is happening. Did my video EVER GO UP? It has been YEARS since we finished the project. STAY AWAY FROM CGI!!!! They are out for your money and will do anything to get you to sign a BS contract especially if you are out of state! I signed this contract in the beginning of April of 2016 to film our company and advertise it on our nearby local city website. They had subcontracted another guy to come and record our video which I was very disappointed in when we received the finished product. I could have made a better video on my phone. I waited patiently (7 months) to hear back from the city to see if they had posted the video on their site yet, come to find out, they had cancelled their contract with CGI in the middle of April! CGI decided not to inform us or even offer our money back! REALLY?! After we spent over $3,200 for the most simple service and we receive absolutely nothing...? After many calls back and forth with the company to figure out what exactly is going on, I finally got a hold of the vice president (Chris) who said he could not give us a full refund. He only offered a 50% refund, copyrights to the video and more of his companies services which I respectfully declined due to the lack of communication, avoidance of our calls, and poor customer service. Every time I called in to the office and asked for Chris or another manager the lady at the front desk would say "let me check" and put me on hold for over 15 minutes and/or say "No one is in right now. I'll take a message and have him call you tomorrow." No one called me back. I hired my attorney to send a letter informing the company we were serious about getting our money back. He had 10 days to respond, which of course he never did. We are now taking further legal action as he is still avoiding our calls. This all could have been avoided if the owner of the company answered the phone and took care of their customers. read more

Made promises they couldn't keep. Said they were working with City of Lynnwood doing a website for them. My business is located IN Lynnwood and thought it would be a good idea to be an advertiser on the page. Well supposedly Lynnwood cancelled their contract and CGI has lost $50k because of cancellation. They offered to put me on another city website, but that's not the one I was interested in. We asked for our money back, even hired attorney to let them know we were serious. They offer to give us back 50% of what we paid OR some other services their company provides. Since they are not located in my state I have no power to collect...I have looked at other complaints on the website and there are some similar complaints in other states about CGI 'working with a city or chamber websites' but contracts falling through. read more

They are telling me I cannot cancel and must pay the entire contract and even threatening to take me to collections. They did a video for our rehab facility, to be honest our videos taken from our smart phones look better and have more graphics/content. And to top it off they charge you additional to have keep your footage. An hour worth of footage for a 60 second clip. Save your money read more

Be Careful! These people don't answer their phones, don't stand behind their contracts, are rude and unprofessional! Our account is less than two weeks past due and they sent us to collections with lies about the balance and problems. We have paid them over $2500 and only owe them $750, with a past due amount of $255. The collection agent that just called indicated that we have a past due balance of $2530! The reason that there is any past due amount is because our credit card number changed and when the account rep called to update the credit card number he indicated that we were not allowed to use the video until the account was paid in full. This contradicts the contract. When this was pointed out to him he became loud, defensive and argumentative. What this company had promised and what they have delivered are at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. The quality of the video is lousy with poor quality images. The editing process had to be lead by my staff because their original cuts had children yawning and picking their noses, showed mostly the back of children's heads, and repeated scenes. From there we were told that this video would be front on center on the chamber web site. This is also not the case. In my opinion CGI has broken every aspect of their contractual agreement. We have paid them over $2500 and all we have received is a poor quality video, which cost us four hours of labor from our marketing team, posted in a poor location of the chamber site, and a lot of inappropriate attitude from aggressive sales and administrative employees. I have contacted the chamber who was in touch with a rep. trying to work on a resolution. I am unsure why they have sent us to collections and feel as though this is just another indicator of the lack of integrity this company has. read more

Incredibly expensive for a mediocre youtube video. Do not expect to have any rights to your own video unless you want to pay about $7,000 more on top of the $15,000 fee of making the video. Salesman made my employee uncomfortable by showing here near naked photos, when he had her alone in her office, of a girl on his phone saying that she looked like her. I could go on, but it's not worth the time. Just don't use this company. You could pay me $3,000 and I would make you a video 10 times as professional and modern than CGI and, naturally, you'd have all the rights to YOUR video. read more

In planning, they made sure to include our thoughts and ideas with their professional advice, ensured that we had all our props and people lined up for the shoot days, were flexible yet with a timeline in mind, and produced a professional and beautiful video. Caitlyn has been a great help with getting my company the exposure for more customers

I am a video producer. In early July 2014 I answered a Craigslist ad from CGI Communications; they were looking for a video shooter. The payment they offered for two gigs was weak (about $70 an hour), but it was work (albeit 10 hours of driving). I took it, trying to ignore the fact that their contract says they take up to 2 months to pay. In addition to a weak hourly rate, they do not pay anything for drive time, and they require you to log the tapes, but they pay $0.00 for your time in logging tapes. That basically cuts the $70/hour rate by 33% to 50%, depending on how thorough you are in logging tape. I am quite thorough, so I worked for way less than $35 an hour, when you add-in the 10 hours of unpaid drive time. The CGI rep assured me that 2 month payment was worst case, and that he'd try to push it through in 6 weeks (what a guy!). Well, it's been 9 weeks and I still am out the gas money for 10 hours of driving, and they haven't paid for the shooting either. The total amount CGI has paid me is $0.00. Last week, CGI said they feel bad, and they will rush payment to me. This week, I find out that means they will put a check in the mail to me in 3 weeks. They are in clear default of their own contract, and in no hurry at all to pay me. At this point, I'm thinking I may not be paid at all. After they missed their 2 month pay date, I got worried there was something wrong with the 7 DVDs of raw tape I sent. So I spoke with the two end-users. Both were satisfied with the work I did, and both said CGI was using the tape. Both had already seen an edited version. So I know CGI is using my work, just not paying for it. CGI says one of their missions is to treat freelance shooters well. You tell me. Are they treating me well? This company has treated me with arrogance... and worse. If CGI ever pays me, I will log back in here and update this website with that fact. SO far, no money. read more
