The music was great and he was very informative about what I was looking for. Nicely hooked me up with their monthly program so I can get all the comics I needed, and they were on point for about six months. Then comes my birthday, very excited to bring my son in and grab my monthly comics. I called the shop on the day of my birthday and the lady owner answered the phone, at this point I have met all the gentleman and just wanted to introduce myself. Me: " Hello who am I speaking with? Her: " I didn't give a name" Me: " correct that's why I'm asking" Her: what can I do for you" Me: " id like to know who I'm speaking with please" Her " This is Kings Cache" Me" I understand that I'm a new member and just checking in on my comics" then her tune changed. Graciously she wanted to be friendly instead of acknowledging me from the beginning and being secretive and ominous. All of this came from her with a very cantankerous attitude and resistance to lead with the right customer service. They have caller ID there, so usually when I call the fellas already acknowledge me but name. Can't believe the fake high road this lady wanted to drive on. I've had nothing but great experiences and then I call and she gives me two shades of gray. Buyer beware, they are nice til they grab ya, then ounce they have you, the care to get to know you or give you the respect you deserve is obsolete. The one gentleman is great the other two could care less for you. Austin Books and Comics and Batcity comics have now graciously taken my business. Which is good because if I see another funko pop my head will explode. Stick with dolls and leave the comics to the big boys. Just because it's a hobby doesn't mean you have to give it a bankers mentality. Ebay, Other stores and Collector conventions offer too much competition. Be better humans. You made this guy feel awful on a day that was so important you won't realize. At the end of the day you just had to be nice, you know who you were and to that my circles and collectors corners will not drive from hill country anymore to spend our disposable income. Thank goodness Batcity just opened up. Can get two more comics for the gas saved!!! I hope this helps do better, because I'm still reeling and this message doesn't do what I witnessed justice. I understand resale and small business pricing, but these prices felt unreasonable and not collector-friendly. I walked in expecting a place that supports the community: fair pricing, unique items, or at least a welcoming vibe. Instead, it felt like the focus was mainly on squeezing profit out of every product, rather than creating a good experience for customers or collectors. If you're looking to spend your money wisely, I'd recommend checking other local shops or retail stores first. You'll likely find the same products for a much better price -- and save yourself the frustration

There is a good variety of sellers selling sealed ETB's, premium collector boxes, booster bundles, and booster boxes, loose packs, and singles as well. There are also some sports card sellers who also have a nice mixture of modern to junk wax to older eras. There is also an arcade machine, comfy couches, and some seating at long tables so you can do some ripping and box breaks in house! Nostalgic collectibles round out the place along with some comic books for purchase. Definitely my go to TCG shop and it should be yours too!

This place has sadly gone downhill. Went to Lucky 7 today with my boys today (13 and 10) at their…read morerequest. My 10 year old (literally the happiest, most positive human) wanted to sell some of his Pokémon cards that he researched recently went up in price. When we approached a younger gentleman at the counter he told us that they don't buy cards on the weekends but asked an older gentleman next to him (dark hair, buzz cut) if he would at least look at them. My son was excited and grinning ear to ear! As the man approached us with what can only be described as a RBF, he just told my son how his cases were all wrong and why did he have them in these cases? My son's face went from elated to practically melting. He is literally 10 years old!!!!! As he continued to insult him, I asked the man multiple times what cases they SHOULD be in....it took me asking three times to get any sort of answer. They even sold those cases behind the counter but he didn't even offer for us to buy them and frankly, by that point they weren't getting any of my money. He gruffly left even though he said they would be interested in buying the cards. Tonight, my son sold one of those cards online for $120 (he paid $30 initially). I am so happy that he didn't let the experience at Lucky 7 dampen his moment. I am sure he will successfully sell the other cards online as well. When we first started going to Lucky 7 we loved that it was a local, family-owned business- that is how we like to spend our money and show up in our community. But sadly, we won't be doing that with this business anymore. Every time we have gone to this store there are a ton of kids, but sadly they do not know how to treat them - or frankly, anyone. If you are a parent whose kids love Pokémon and sports cards just consider this before taking your children to this place. Over lunch I talked to my boys about the way we communicate with people and how it is not always what you say, but how you say it. His cases may have been wrong, but tell him what is right instead of admonishing him publicly and give him the solution. My sons will be better for this lesson and perhaps the owners can teach their grown male employees the same lesson but we certainly will not be around to see it.
