Bought a pack of ascended heroes and got back to the car just to realize it had been resealed and all four corners had an opening. In addition, both the top and bottom were flattened as if an iron had been used to reseal it. Went back asking for a refund and was met with a refusal and accusations of not being able to afford it. Terrible experience and highly do not recommend shopping here or at their other location in the Round Rock outlet mall. read more

This is a DANGEROUS store!! Because you want to buy EVERYTHING! Best prices on single cards and always fair market value on ETB's. Most EX cards I saw were $1-$2, with only a few that were $3 and above. Very fair prices for near mint to mint raw cards. No graded cards, however, an amazing assortment of ETB's and booster bundle boxes - Shrouded Fable, Prismatic Evolutions Japanese, Chinese 151, Stellar Miracle, Mask of Rage and a lot more. I bought a bunch of EX and illustrator rare cards for my son for super cheap prices! The place is always packed and it's just an overall magical place to shop. Only expensive buy are the stuffies and some of the nano block models. But aren't they always the most expensive buy anywhere?! Flygon V, V Stars, Greninja, Lycanroc, Pikachu, Paldean Friends, promo cards, art rares, illustrator rares, most of the modern sets you are looking for. Not many vintage items, but as a more modern Pokemon collector myself, I do t mind much. The staff are also always super helpful, friendly, engaging, fun, and on top of it. Dear Pokemaniacs, I just spent $100+ at your shop and you gifted me a cute little Pokemon model figurine! You have hats, beanies, posters, mouse pads, card gaming mats, slippers, key chains, necklaces and whatever else I could find to make into Pokemon form. Here are the things I loved: 1. Giant plushies pikachu ($90) - he makes everyone look great in selfies 2. Sylpheon slippers - cuteness and warmth on your feet. (Also available in all other eevee evolutions) 3. Charizard beanie - doesn't light my hair on fire, but keeps me toasty warm. 4. Cute mouse pad of adorable Pokemon friends - my mouse knows what cuteness is now. Justin spilled the deets of how they just opened and the owners are the same folks who are at Press Play, 2 shops down in the Lakeline Mall. I think it's awesome and have been to the actual Pokemon Center before it was revamped to the Nintendo store in NYC. We are so lucky to live near this store! Pokemaniacs has a HUGE assortment of obscure Pokémon merchandise that is hard to find anywhere else. Staff is really friendly and clearly passionate for the game. I've bought a few plush Pokémon from here that were quite pricey but well made and well worth it when you consider your only other option is to buy online, pay for shipping, and who knows what the quality would be like. As an adult, this store made me feel like a kid in a candy shop, and what a lovely feeling to just browse around and pick out something special that made me smile. SUMMARY: DON'T buy their card booster packs, or don't shop here at all. You'll get scammed. Overall the atmosphere of the store is decent, full of Pokemon toys and accessories from floor to ceiling. THAT looked like a nerdy wonderland, and had such high hopes for it.. Only to find out that the owner cares nothing for Pokemon and is just trying to rake in cash every time Pokemon gets a bump in popularity. Many of the non-official items in their store are low quality, and disappointing. 1.Underpaid, and under-educated staff. First off, their employees all seem to have minimal Pokemon knowledge, or just none at all. Not great hiring practices.. But I guess that's the best they can get when they pay their employees less than 8 an hour. 2. Low quality, expensive goods. Bought a wall-scroll from there, $20. Not too much, but for a poster, it like for it to at LEAST not fall apart from the seams! And its absolutely filled with staples on the edges. 3. Outright scamming I thought "Okay, I'll just not buy wall scrolls from there anymore. The cards have to be okay, right?" The nice clerk informed us that they can't be weighed to determine if pack has rare cards anymore. Wrong. I bought 15 packs of Ultra Prism, 5 packs of Guardians rising, and 2 packs of Shining Legends pokemon cards. All. Had. NOTHING. Almost 100 bucks of card packs They sell their own "Special packs" that are guaranteed a rare, but for twice the price. After some light research, yes, you still CAN weigh the packs, and it seems that's just what they did. They also outrageously overprice their individual cards. The same card you can buy online for 5 dollars, certified real and in perfect condition, is 10 dollars at Pokemaniacs. No certification. No anything. Moral of the story? Spend your money elsewhere, because the owner doesn't even care about Pokemon and just wants to make money off trends. And if you don't mind that, DON'T buy ANY of their card booster packs, unless you want to be royally scammed. I have better luck at Walmart, Target, ect, but I wanted to support a small business. Fooled me twice, so shame on me, I guess. I won't be going back. read more

Great little shop! They carry a wide variety of TCG inventory (including Japanese TCG boosters and similar), plushies and other unique pieces and are always pretty well stocked. On top of that, the employees that I've encountered there have been very engaged with us. I brought my seven-year-old in to buy his first packs, and the employee and I had a good little chat. As my son got excited about all the packs laid on the counter for him to choose from I heard the employee mumble under his breath "this is what I love about this." These packs looked pretty janked up, but I bought two sets with good pull rates: 3 shining fates and one champions path. And the best we pulled was a $4 card, and I paid $45 dollars for all this. Waste of money and time. If you want to buy good Pokémon cards, go to a target or Walmart, do not buy from these scummy scalpers! read more

It's a very nice store and had really cool buttons made from old Pokémon cards. Especially loved all the plushes there. Everything was kind of expensive though, my friend got a medium sized Jolteon plush which cost her $40. Other than that a nice store for Pokémon fans. read more

Very, very cool store packed to the gills with Pokemon merchandise and TCG supplies. The prices skew a little high but a lot of this is stuff you can't easily get outside of big convention events or niche online stores. The most recent time my friends and I visited, we were trying to get into the Pokemon TCG. The woman working there was incredibly informative and helpful about getting into the game, letting us know about what sets are currently in rotation or not. After my friend spent about $80 on sets and boosters, but didn't get many rare card drops, she threw in an extra pack for free that ended up having two rare drops in it. Fantastic store, would highly recommend if you or your kids are fans of Pokemon. read more

Wow! I never expected to see a store completely devoted to Pokemon merchandise, especially in Austin. In the past few years, Lakeline Mall has been opening more and more stores directed towards gaming and such (stores like press play), but I would have never imagined they opened a store dedicated to Pokemon. This store is great for Pokemon enthusiasts and for those who love cute stuffed toys. They offer tons of Pokemon merchandise such as plush toys, gym badges, posters, slippers, hats, old game boy games, and Pokemon cards (vintage and new). Went once and met the owner, gave me a great trade in with my EX cards. Today I went in with the same amount of cards, all EX holos, and was helped by a lady with long brown hair. She told me "I'll give you these phone cases in equal exchange for the cards." Last time I was given $200 in credit for 25 cards. This time I was given $24. I was absolutely ripped off. read more

I found this completely by accident. So many imports! They had so many plush toys, and Japanese cards and even Korean cards. They had Japanese Sword Shield cards before they were released in English. I LOVE this place... but it's so expensive. I know importing costs tons, but 40 bucks per stuffed toy? I can't really afford it, but wish I could. Also, I wish I knew if they deliver because it's a super-hard to get to location from where I can get to. read more

Pros: The store is the Mecca of all things Pokemon. If you're looking for anything, the store will probably have it. Cons: The staff is really disorganized. Outside Laura, a former employee, almost no one knows anything about Pokémon. The only employee in the store knew NOTHING about Pokemon. And I mean ZERO. Sorry, but that's just not a good fit for the job! I brought my 7 year old son in after school, who was excited all day to check out the store. We went in and I said we were novices and we're looking for some guidance. Went in today to return 2 stuffed toys purchased for Christmas that were also purchased by someone else for the same child and I am told they don't do refunds only exchanges. What grandparent needs Pokemon stuff. These were a gift, I am on a fixed income and the clerk was unable to point me toward any signage that stated all sales were final or exchanges only. Very bad customer service and very poor business practice. I won't shop Gamefellas anymore now knowing that they are owned by the same person. read more

I would like to preface this review by stating that the five star rating is solely because of Laura. No one at that store knows more about Pokemon, be it the cards, merchandise or anything else, than she does. She is always helpful, knowledgeable and super friendly. It's gotten to the point that if I go by and she isn't working, I don't go in. She knows the cards front to back by heart. It's nice to go into a specialty store like Pokemaniacs and have the opportunity to work with someone who is just as passionate and interested in the product as I am. When I buy packs and open them with her she's always excited for me if I pull something cool. Frankly, if she ever stopped working there, I wouldn't go in anymore.
