1/18/17 UPDATE AGAIN 1- Christine is correct... the picture is not her work. Mia had to put pins in the compensate for the ripped oirnzipper to get a sense of how much the dress needed to be taken in. Buttons were missing. The straps were missing... that's how the dress was received when we picked it up at the shop the SAME afternoon we requested it be returned. So... Christine fixed it back to perfect t original manufacturer condition only for the shop to rip it back apart? Does anyone find sense in that statement??? 2- the shop refused to compensate for any additional cost. 3- I work as an area customer service manager... I know the value of feedback and would never make up random facts and blast your business falsely or maliciously. 4- NOW this conversation is over. ***UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO CHRISTINE'S REPLY*** I have added a picture of the dress, EXACTLY as we received it from the dress shop the day we decided Christine was not capable of completing my SIL's dress. I had asked that the shop track down where Christine was keeping it (for some reason she has dresses in places other than her studio) so this photo is how Christine returned it. Someone tell me how that consistories "the original dress" as claimed by Christine in her reply to me. Original review- Where do I even start... First- go look at the photos I loaded- they are reviews that somehow have been marked as "not useful" which is ironic... Since a few of these stories are EXACTLY what happened to my sister-in-law. My SIL went to Christine as recommended by her bridal shop. After 10-TEN- fittings, she went into her "final fitting" the week of her wedding to find that her dress was still pinned, ripped, sipper removed and nowhere near ready. Christine claimed she didn't have enough time to do my SIL's dress and that she was just too busy. Ok. If you're amazing at your job and get hugged down with too many dresses... Be a professional and turn some business down so you can take complete care of the brides you are working with. Anywho... I think Christine is just a poor business woman and has no sense. After plenty of dramatic flair, we got the dress back and took it to Mia's Creative Tailoring where they worked an absolute miracle and made the most of what they had to work with. IN TWO DAYS!! Christine took such good care of us! I initially went to her for alterations on my Tara Keely dress based on the recommendation of Blue Bridal where I purchased it. They did not steer me wrong. Christine is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. After my three fittings, she had my dress fitting me absolutely perfectly. My mom made my sash and she helped us brainstorm as it was being created. She payed attention to every need and even sewed in some special components in my dress that hooked inside my bustier to keep my strapless dress from falling down. I was walking all over and dancing through the night (sometimes holding little kids) and never felt like my dress was falling down. In addition, my groom and groomsmen had ordered custom suits from an out of state company and we had a number of challenges with them. They came in really late - trickling in between two weeks and a week from the wedding and some of them needed a lot of adjusting. She went to work on all of them - sometimes needing to add fabric due to a shortage in the seam allowances. She really saved us with this one. We were in a major pinch and she cheerfully jumped in to help us. Thanks to Christine, my wedding dress and the suits looked stellar on our wedding day. I was very nervous initially as our wedding is a non-traditional Vegas ceremony (no bridesmaids and such) and I wouldn't have a maid of honor or anyone with me. The very first time I met with her at her home studio, I was instantly relieved. She is warm and made me feel very comfortable (which for a modest girl who has to disrobe in front of a stranger is HUGE). She crafted custom straps for my dress and made my dress fit like a glove to my hourglass figure. I couldn't be more happier and I am so glad I found her. I can't wait to wear my dress in 2 weeks. Christine is such a delight to work with. I bought my dress and a few months later had to cut gluten from my diet which caused me to lose 20 pounds very quickly---she kept right up! I was so stressed out thinking my dress was going to be a waste because of the weight I was losing but she would constantly reassure me that everything will be just fine, and it was! She was very flexible with meeting with me for my fittings. My dress was tight around my butt and baggy in my chest--she inserted bra cups which helped, and with losing weight from the gluten allergy, she actually ended up having to take in around my hips/butt. It took me a while to decide if I should review my experience with Christine at CH Studios - but after sharing my story with a few people, many urged me to inform others of how they may be treated. I will note that the one start comes from the fact that I received emails back from the company and was not ignored. I first expressed interest in hiring Christine to recreate a dress I had seen from Vogue's top picks at bridal fashion week on Feb. 7th (2014.) [ My wedding is November 8, 2014 ] I had not contacted a single person before Christine, I looked around, researched, called high-end fabric stores to hear what they had to say about local designers, etc. When I finally emailed my first designer I was so excited to hear back, to share ideas, to start working with someone building my dream dress...as I feel like many girls would be! I reached out via email, photo attached, expressing my interest (and excitement!) in the style of dress that I had found, completely open to any and all information from Christine - simply opening the line of communication and expressing interest in her business. My first email back was very short - no greeting, simply "when is the date of your wedding and budget" - verbatim. My response back was just as polite and open as the first, (I would not be discouraged so easily, I was on cloud 9, after all) stating our date, and expressing that we were very open as far as budget goes and that we had not established a solid price point for a dress. [ It was at this point I can only assume that Christine had it in her mind that I was looking to get a dirt cheap dress made, and that I was not worthy of her services. ] As I stated before, I said WE WERE OPEN - this meant ANY NUMBER - just let me know what we're looking at - and we can go from there. The next email I received from Christine was even more sterile and unwelcoming than the first. The snarky response detailed my apparent lack of knowledge [ which was noted to me "people are not schooled in the concept of what it takes to design and make a dress" - correct, which is why I am emailing you ] when it came to pricing - stating that a custom dress by her would cost "3-5 times the retail cost of a dress" - [ Against a french dressmaker featured in Vogue? I wasn't asking for a $100 dress, just one that wasn't going to include international shipping and high-end designer pricing - which is why I contacted a LOCAL dressmaker ] My time line - 9 months (although a time line was not stated on her website anywhere for me to know this) was too short and she "usually takes work a year in advance for custom of this level" [ I had a few other reputable designers in Colorado, as well as Chicago inform me that this dress was not overly detailed and could (and is being) done within that time frame ] - The responses were ALL seemingly "annoyed" - when all I wanted to know was if she could design this dress for me, and the obvious information that I would need to go along with it. After I was given the shove-off responses (she clearly did not want me as a client) - she did mention that I could get a dress made in Denver for any price...a completely inappropriate comment followed. "Please resist the urge to use a cheap Chinese custom site" (as she typically has to remake these?) Not ok, ever. My response detailed back to her how off-putting this whole exchange had been. Now - I will state that I did receive "profound apologies" back, but not without further shock - the apology came not because it was warranted, but because she didn't realize that I was a "qualified client" (meaning that I could pay what she would consider to be enough) - stating "Tis rare to get a qualified client in all areas" - SO LADIES...my advice for you - if you are really excited about your dress and have some cash to spend - go to someone kind. Go to someone who will be EXCITED FOR YOU and not try to belittle your joy during what should be a happy experience. My advice for CH Studios - it's called TACT - and simply put, all that means is telling someone to go to hell in such a way that the enjoy the trip...learn it. You don't have to pick up every client, but certainly don't insult the clients that have money to spend on your services...and certainly don't throw race into the mix. I'm sure there are plenty of cheap "American" sites as well. Women come to you during a very exciting time in their lives, many for the very first aspect of their entire wedding. As someone who provides a service to others, I am always open to hearing what you have to say, trying to make things work. If you can't help your clients, at least don't be rude to them. *Customer service should be just as important as quality of work* read more

Christine is a professional alterations miracle worker! When we went looking for my daughter's dress we saw it on the end of the rack, both said "THIS IS THE ONE" and bought it on the spot. She contacted Christine for alterations. While at one of the alteration visits, the waist was tight and the trumpet skirt was long. Christine separated the strapless bodice from the skirt. Made use of the flare of the skirt to fit the waist better and eliminate the need to hem the train and skirt. When trying it on, my daughter liked the bodice separate of the skirt so it would move with her upper torso without shifting the skirt. Christine made the dress two pieces! It was more comfortable, fit perfectly, suggested a fascinator for a headpiece and where to buy what we needed to make it. Christine is GREAT! She is a lot of fun, too. She is not cheap, but I suspect she charges about market rate, maybe slightly more. However, on your wedding day you can pay more! I think the worst thing about wedding dresses is that they rarely fit. Mine fit like a glove. I had to drive all the way from Ft Collins to Denver, but I had learned of Christine through a friend, and I did not want to take any chances. Sure enough, she did an amazing job. My bust is a 10 and the rest of me is a 2, so she had her hands full. I bought extra material to cover my bust (make sure to do that if you aren't sure!), and she made everything look seamless. She also added a strap and removed a bunch of other stuff that I did not like. I was very picky, and she calmed me down and kept me sane. I actually hated the dress at one point and she was the one who made sure, in the end, I loved it. Bring shoes and under garmets that you will be wearing, and get extra material, if necessary. Don't hesitate to add anything. She knows of a great place in town, and I ended up getting really cool bling. Email her or call. She is great. read more

I bought a formal dress for a fundraiser dinner that I was going to. The dress was a long sleeveless formal. It had straps the crossed in the back and the straps were very narrow. I needed the dress to be tailored on top so that it would not look so baggy. CH studios enhanced the bust line with inserts, and custom tailored the length. I really liked the fact that the tailor, Christine,was able to just look at me in the dress and know what to do. Many of the alteration shops I have been to required me to give them specific directions, even though I myself did not know how to make it fit better. I liked the fact that I could buy something off the rack, and have it look like it was custom made just for me! The alterations were affordable and I was very happy with the results! read more

I bought my wedding dress as a floor sample and even though it was beautiful, it needed a lot of work in order to make it fit right. I was referred to Christine by a friend whose dress Christine had also altered. She was awesome! It took about 6 weeks to get in all three fittings (and I think she rushed for me, but don't go in expecting that!). In that time, she had to take off a lot of lace and beading to hem it, put in bust darts, take it in in places and let it out in others, and put in an eleven-point bustle (and yet made it super easy and beautiful!). Her prices were very reasonable too. She was funny, friendly, and an all-around pleasure to work with. I suppose this next bit is largely superfluous, as it is common sense, but I'll say it anyway. "Bride-zillas" will NOT like her. She is very busy and likes things scheduled in advance. Be prompt and courteous (common sense!), and above all, do NOT forget your shoes or undergarments for your fittings. She does absolutely beautiful work, and if you are flexible and work with her, she will work with you. Christine was amazing! I was extremely worried about the fit of my dress. I have a larger chest and was wearing a very heavy dress. She did wonders! She added some inside support for holding the weight. It was perfect and I did not pull that strapless dress up all night! It stayed perfectly! She added cups as well which were great so I didn't have to wear a strapless bra. The alterations were perfect! I had beading on the bodice and it was seamlessly taken in. You would have had no idea an alteration was made. The bustle was beautiful. Loved it! I also had her shorten my rehearsal dinner dress. Christine was very friendly and accommodating on the first visit when I dropped my bride's maid dress off to be altered. However, when I went to pick it up and expressed my dissatisfaction with it, she called my dress silly (on the day of drop off she said it was elegant and different) and tried half-heartedly to fix the problem. Christine is a magician! I contacted Christine via email when I was asked to be a bridesmaid last year and then quickly found out the chosen bridesmaid dress was not sold in my size. As a plus-size girl, dress shopping is rarely fun but it is downright hell when you're told which one you HAVE to get regardless of your body type. Without any obligation to help me Christine took the time to counsel me on my options and we settled on having me purchase two of the same dress since they were on a deep sale. Christine assured me we could tailor it using fabric from the extra dress. I met with Christine a couple times this year as the wedding got closer for my dress fittings. Each time I reached out Christine responded promptly and accommodated my schedule by allowing me to come in whenever was convenient for me, even after store hours. She NEVER made me feel insecure about my weight which was really comforting considering the situation. When it was all said and done I walked away with beautiful dress that fit me like a glove. Her alterations (see pictures) included essentially "cutting and pasting" a large strip of fabric into the back to create a panel large enough to accommodate my size. Her work was amazing. She did not compromise the integrity of the dress and honestly no one knew I'd had it altered unless I told them. I was worried about the new dress seams tearing because they weren't in the original design of the dress but I wore that thing for twelve hours throughout dancing, sitting, etc. and it was in perfect shape when I took it off that night. On top of all that her price for the work was very reasonable. I simply cannot thank Christine enough for working her magic so that I was able to be a part of my cousin's special day and not feel any different than the other bridesmaids. I brought my wedding dress to Christine (aka CH Studios ) to alter because I wanted some custom work done that the shop where I bought it wouldn't do - and I was also in a bit of a rush and she said she could accommodate me. Our first meeting went well - she was friendly, helpful and eager to please. She was a self-proclaimed "perfectionist." She informed us she would rework a dress numerous times until she got it right and to her satisfaction. I was impressed with her work ethic and thought I was making a good decision by having her alter the dress. Sadly, I was wrong. During our second meeting we discussed what I wanted to have done to the bodice and she worked up a quick solution for me to see. It looked good so far. She promised a more permanent solution the following week. When I arrived a week later I was asked to sit and wait while she finished up the dress. Then I heard her pick up the phone to make a personal call - while she was finishing up a sloppy basting-like stitch on my dress. About 15-20 minutes later, I see the work she had just completed and it was very unprofessional - the thread was clearly visible as she made no effort to conceal it. When I asked if that was just a temporary stitch she very icily said that it was not. The Christine I had met in the initial consultation was sweet and bubbly - this Christine acted put out and her behavior was bordering on rude. And why did she feel the need to do such a hasty stitch in the minutes while I waited when she had an entire week to work on the dress? Needless to say, I was not pleased. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a gnarly seamstress that didn't care about me or making my wedding dress beautiful. Ultimately, I had to take the dress home, rip out most of her very visible stitches, and just redo it myself. I would definitely NOT recommend that you get anything altered by her - save yourself the frustration and unnecessary stress. read more

Christine altered my Anne Barge wedding dress for my June 2012 wedding. My dress was complicated in that the skirt was made up of a number of panels requiring very precise hemming, and creating a bustle was a bit more challenging than it would be with a normal hemline. Christine's attention to detail is remarkable, and she seemed to enjoy the challenge that the bustle presented, coming up with a number of different solutions and experimenting until I found one I liked. I ended up going in for about 5 fittings, but she didn't alter the original price quote, and the price was far less than I was quoted elsewhere. It's also worth noting that she's very personable and relaxed, and she goes the extra mile. She even helped me pack my dress up for shipping to my wedding location. read more

I met Christine several years ago when she made some interview clothes for my daughter who was applying to medical school. Fast forward. My daughter got married this past summer. She made not only my daughter's wedding dress but the bridesmaids' dresses, as well. She had to develop patterns (design the dresses) based on sketches. The original sketch of the wedding dress was on a napkin. All the dresses were beautiful. There were many fittings, and it was well worth the effort to have the fittings. Every detail was discussed. Christine is a delightful and interesting person who has an incredible gift for design and fitting the correct style to the body type. Do NOT take your wedding dress here. Christine pretty much ruined my wedding dress. My dress only had to be altered down 1 size. When I went back for my second fitting, the dress was taken in way too much (she didn't measure me at the first fitting) and was taken in unevenly side to side. The sweetheart neckline was also crooked. When I took my dress elsewhere, they asked "Who did this to your dress?!" In addition to destroying my dress, she also doubled her price from her original quote and had a horrible attitude towards brides in general. The lining material she used is higher quality than the original and after analyzing how/where the material ripped, Christine worked the replacement lining with the aim of preventing future rips (in the shoulder/arm area). After spending thousands on a wedding dress you want it to fit perfectly and you want to feel good in it. I absolutely LOVED my dress upon purchase and was so excited to go through fittings to have it tailored to fit me exactly. Christine was recommended by the dress shop and I went with her has a tailor. Christine was a very nice person, however she RUINED my wedding dress. I had multiple appointments with Christine to fit my dress, she never wrote down my suggestions and what I wanted, her work spaces were less than clean and inviting and she just flat out didn't know how to properly alter my dress. She didn't make any of the changes to my dress I wanted and ended up making wrong changes, I ended up with a product where my belt was sewn on about a centimeter off center, my straps were sewn down into the cups about an inch causing the top of the dress to bow out and cut my boob in half, she talked about sewing my belt to follow the line of the dress in the back, an idea which I liked, but ended up cutting the belt too short and sewing it straight across causing a bunching effect of the lace dress. She emailed me hours before my final appointment twice to reschedule a pick up because she "didn't get enough time with my dress yet" despite having it for months on end and when I finally went to pick it up she wasn't even going to have me try on the dress and tried to package it up right away. To top it all off instead of taking material out of the waist, she cut out more inches in the rib area so that it was extremely difficult to get the dress to latch and made if hard to breathe while the waist was still big. This was a HORRIBLE experience and I had to frantically find another tailor to fix everything that Christine did in the month before my wedding. I never write reviews but I feel so strongly about this that I had to warn other brides about my bad experience. read more
