If you want a great seamstress, I don't see how you can do better than Valerie. I brought her a custom garment which my mother put together for me decades ago, now all worn out, and asked if she could make me some copies. She listened -- really listened. Then she figured out the amount of fabric and other stuff needed for each copy (I went out and chose the fabric) and made up my copies at a very reasonable price indeed. She made them fit me, too, which is not the easiest thing in the world; I'm not the same shape any more that I was when my mother was sewing for me. But here's the biggest thing: she's too good a seamstress to just go along with my mother's (I must admit) somewhat amateurish design. She improved on it. However, she's also SO dedicated to good service that, when I thought about it and decided I liked it better my mother's way, she simply picked up a pair of scissors and started putting it back the way *I* wanted it.
