    a table full of food

We ordered take out tonight was told 15 minutes was there in 20 and it takes me 5 to get home from there. As you can tell one order of rice and beans got shorted BIG TIME compared to the other. EVERYTHING was cold including cheese dip that was so cold it was almost solid again. When I called to speak to a manager the woman who works the counter said she was manager tonight and her VERY FIRST response when I told her about the problem was "Well what do you want me to do about it?" We spend $40 a week here and have never had an issue til now and we will never go back.

Passing through and stopped at this little restaurant. Both service and food was great. Salsa was mild so we all could enjoy.

Wow! A spot-on real deal Mexican restaurant in the outskirts of Tuscaloosa! Who would have thunk…read moreit? OK, we're big-time Tex-Mex food fans, but we find it quite difficult to find high-quality Tex-Mex or even Mexican restaurants in the US south outside of Texas. This place is a game changer. When we stopped here, we were prepared to be disappointed in issuing two or three star rating at the most. Every single item we ordered was tasty and delectable. Our entrées were Carne Asada; and, Shrimp of the Devil (Camerones el Diablo). Both were fresh, tasty, and delicious. The shrimp were prepared in a special hot sauce, which was in an of itself, delectable (but only if you have a big glass of water to drink). My wife liked it so much she just wanted to taste the sauce! We weren't going to have dessert, but after watching several dessert pass by via the waitress to other tables, we decided order Flan and a mixture of a sopsvilla with fried ice cream. Ugh! Spectacular! If you're in the Tuscaloosa area, go and enjoy. It's worth it. Prices are reasonable. There's a happy hour for drinks. We had two margaritas each: very very good. This restaurant is located directly across the street from brand new Holiday Inn in Tuscaloosa at Cottondale, AL 35453.

Even with a few staff, they're very efficient. My waitress was sweet and prompt. I was hungry & craving good Mexican food and this spot did just that. Also, noticed yelp & google are lacking so... here ya go! I ordered the Pepe Special, 1 Carne Asada street taco, and 1 chicken flauta. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty! I wasn't a big fan of their corn tortilla for the street taco but, that's a preference. All this for less than $20!!!! Take a moment, and stop in for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

So this has been on my list and I finally came here on a Thursday evening with my son. It's at the end of a shopping center where a Walmart is. We got there about 5:30 PM. It was not busy at all. We were promptly greeted by a hostess that sat us in a booth. We started off with the chips and salsa, but on the menu it does say after two baskets they will charge you for the chips and salsa. We only had one. The chip could've been a little thinner. It's rude to find a raspberry margarita so I wanted to get one unfortunately they didn't have any frozen ones. They were just on the rocks. I was pretty shocked when I looked at the receipt and saw that it was $17 for a Margarita and it definitely wasn't worth that much. It had kind of a weird taste to it. We did get the cheese dip and it was very delicious. I decided to try the Mexican lasagna, which was so delicious. I got it with the beef and it was layers of ground beef, pico beans, and possibly some rice too. It was a good portion and I ended up bringing the other half home. My son ended up getting nachos with shrimp, chicken and steak and he really enjoyed it and finished his whole plate. I will definitely be back sooner than later because I love some good Mexican food, but I will probably end up getting just a soda next time. Fernando was our waiter and he was very attentive. I will say the restaurant in the bathrooms were clean. There's only one bathroom each for men and women. I would think it a restaurant this big they would have more stalls.

So that's exactly what I did--hauled myself over to Pastor's Kitchen to start the day off right (or at least try to). We sat down for a quick bite before heading out to conquer the world--or at least our to-do lists. I went with the ol' faithful: scrambled eggs and bacon. My son decided to get fancy with the breakfast tacos. Now, I've got to say, my bacon came out a little more crispy than Christian, bless its heart. The scrambled eggs were... well, let's just say I've had the same thing at about a dozen other spots in town. Nothing to write home about, but it filled the tank. Normally, Pastor's hits the mark--they're known for good grub and even better vibes. The place was spotless, the staff was friendly as always, and the Christian music humming in the background gave it that easy-going, Sunday-morning feel even on a weekday. So while today's breakfast wasn't exactly divine intervention, the company made up for it. After all, breakfast with your boy is always time well spent--even if the bacon's a little too close to burnt offering status.
