This makes her an exceptional art instructor and you can see it in the work of her students! My daughter just started taking lessons from Ms. Venditto and I can already see a HUGE improvement in her techniques. There's a showcase at the end of the winter sessions (8 weeks total, 2 hours a week), but was able to take a sneak peak. I got the chance to introduce myself to the teacher today and talk to her a bit. She's warm, welcoming, and very easy to talk to. I also love the high level of professionalism of her business--very important to me. Online registration and payment are available online and confirmation is sent via email, which makes enrollment very convenient. FYI, she's currently a high school teacher in a different town and has to commute. Gotta admire her dedication! Luckily, we live close by. Students who get the chance to study under her are fortunate. We were immediately impressed with how beautiful the grounds were, there were lots of beautiful flowers, magnificent water views, and abundant charm. We had an amazing time touring the house and grounds. Our guide, Maggie, was excellent, she shared interesting details and told the story of the Smith-Appleby family with humor and pride. We were most impressed at the sustainability of the homestead and how it has served this family for nearly 300 years. It was an absolute privilege to spend time here and we felt very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend the morning touring the buildings and grounds, including a visit to the family cemetery at the front on the property. Tours cost $5 per person and a yearly membership is only $20.

They give tours the third Sunday of the month from 1 - 4 , so plan accordingly! It was a beautiful day... I have to say the grounds are lovely. What a great place to just enjoy a short stroll. My son enjoyed picking up sticks and poking around the small stream that runs down from the road. We also took a look at the graveyard with all the old stones. The house itself is very interesting with a few things I'd never seen before. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone there was very welcoming and we just had a really nice afternoon... my son ,who is 7, really enjoyed it as well. A great local place to visit, especially on a nice day. I'll be back to check out some of the events that they hold periodically.

Very unprofessional since day 1…read more We had an appointment to check the place out and the owner nabely did not pay us much attention because she was "busy", and she did this at every appointment but we decided to go with the place because it was beautiful and had everything we needed. So we thought. we Went with the smallest package because I wanted to decorate myself. she said " your wedding is destined to fail" because I didn't wanna pay the extra $4000 just for her to decorate?? she said the oven came with the hall Then days before my wedding she told me the racks in the oven were gone because someone else rented them. So we had to Buy some. months before the wedding I told her in great description what tables i Wanted to use and how I want them set up. Day of the wedding comes along and she has the completely wrong tables out which messes up my whole seating chart so I had to have my family run around and move all the tables around, decorate and coordinate with the caterer. Thankfully they got it all done in time. Some things were messed up because they didn't have enough time due to the tables. my bridesmaid had to get dressed in the bridal sweet because she was nice enough to help set Up and the bridal sweet had a window wide open and Everyone could see her dressing if they walked by. ??? day of coordinator/owner Jason was on point the whole wedding made sure I had what I needed but at the end of the night when my family was done cleaning up he said " okay now get the fuck out my building". i would not recommend this place to my worse enemy.

When I arrived she and her husband were having a very genial conversation with the owner Dave at the outdoor seating area. The vineyard is clearing some land and the entrance drive, at the time of my visit, was strewn with downed timber and a large dirt parking area at the end. There is a sign on the street pointing you into the driveway. Once the introductions were over Dave told us about the vineyards he has and the one's he plans to plant. Where he gets grapes from and how he produces his wine. We walked in to the converted barn which is beautifully decorated with a large bar in the center and comfortable seating areas around the perimeter. They have a rack of bottles ready to be sold and a gift box display. The day we went there were four or five wines available. Once a type has sold out, it's done for the season so those who know and like Dave's wine know when to head over to make their purchases. Some offerings are ready in Spring while others are not available until Autumn. I ended up purchasing two bottles each of three of the available wines. The Riesling is a bit dry and not too sweet. Lovely. The Cab had a nice 'full mouth' feel to it and a clean finish. I have been disappointed by other RI wine producers and to be honest I didn't have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. We also had an opportunity to meet Dave's wife and children. This is truly a family business. With each new arrival, Dave made a point to say hello, get their name, tell them his and pour them a glass. We sampled each of the available wines but others came in just to enjoy a glass. The atmosphere was such that everyone was chatty with each other even though we were strangers. It made for a very enjoyable visit. This vineyard is in the woods and the drive up is just beautiful along winding back roads. On a beautiful, sunny Saturday, it made for a very enjoyable day. If I could suggest just one thing it would be to offer a small snack. This may be a sticky wicket as they are a wine producer, not a restaurant and I'm sure that brings up a whole other set of laws. During our visit his 'intern' showed up with a spinach and pepperoni calzone which he offered all around. It was just delightful and I was very happy to have something to eat after sampling several wines. Maybe next time I'll just bring along a snack to share. I hope that's OK.

I learned that this business had the distinction of being the oldest framing shop in the country dating back to the early 1900's and has remained a family run local business during this time. (Wow! That's impressive!) Initially based out of the Arcade in Downcity Providence, they moved to this location in the 1970's and have continued to expand over time. What you will find today are three massive floors filled with artwork, prints, drawings, ceramics, etc from great local artists in addition to their large framing area. They can handle all types of projects small or large and provide service and support both locally and out of state. They boast quality craftsmanship, lifetime guarantees on their work, and prices that are comparable to what you'd find from the big box chains that offer framing services (no coupon needed!) The difference is the years of knowledge and experience you get when choosing Providence Picture Frame as well as the good feeling you get knowing that you are helping a long time family run store stay in business for future generations. You'll also find friendly employees who care passionately about their business, their community, and helping the customer get exactly what they are looking for. Pro tips: Consider shopping in their gallery for unique and special birthday or holiday gifts. Not sure how to display that special photo, artwork, or sentimental item? Stop by to talk to them about their custom framing ideas and to preserve your one of a kind item for a lifetime.
