I've had BBQ in Texas, I've had it at rib fests across the country, and nothing has satisfied my BBQ dreams like Mad Ox did. I was serving someone the brisket and it was so tender, it was falling off my fork. I had to get a spoon to scoop it up for them. It melted in my mouth and hit all the right smoky notes. The absolute crown jewel is the Beef Back Ribs. Served on a massive slab, how can you not feel awed by it? Doused with smoky and slightly spicy BBQ sauce, the tender but meaty bites sent me into a food haze over and over. The meat combo is the way to go, you can try everything. Make sure you get the spicy chicken sausage. It's cheesy inside! You could probably eat the meats and leave satisfied, but the sides are also worth mentioning. Of the bunch, I loved the "Brisket Mac N Cheese". It's not Mac in a skillet, but the cheesy sauce is infused with flavors. The "Street Corn" and "Truffle Fries" are also elevated versions of any you've had before. At the end of the day, I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food I was paying for. We choose the following: 1 lb Beef Brisket 1 lb Beef Back Ribs 1/2 lb Brazilian Tri Tip Being a platter, one would expect a couple side dishes to be included like they include with their plates, however this is not the case. So, we had to order waffle first and coleslaw in addition to the platter. The portions of food for the platter seem large on when listed on the menu, however they are much smaller than expected. As for the food, the brisket and the tri tip were very dry and lacked a lot of taste. It's odd because slow smoked meats should be moist, smokey and the dry rub should permeate the meat, disappointedly the brisket was not. The only standout of the entire meal were the back ribs. The ribs were full of flavour and fall of the bone tender. The waffle fries and coleslaw were just OK, and again I expected larger portions of both. Service, however, was very good and our server explained some of the options. So, our experience and food quality were much better during our first visit when ordered takeout, although we did order different things. Nevertheless, I am very disappointed in our last visit because most of the meat dishes were dry and lacked that BBQ flavour, the portions were smaller than expected, and we had to order side dishes in addition the platter.

Plenty of lettuce, sour cream and seasonings. The tortilla was soft and a bit sweet and it complimented the taco well. The fries were plentiful and actually calorie worthy.
