My go to baseline is Dry Cajun although the other descriptive names made my mind wander...quite a bit. Smoookin' Senorita, 5 Alarm Inferno, Taj Mahal, Witch Doctor, Scorpion Kiss, on so on.... Give my head a shake and let's get back to business. We shared an Allstar Nachos and I ordered a pound of Breaded Dry Cajun wings. Service from Christal was excellent. The nachos chips were perfectly crispy. The wings were deliciously flavourful outside and tender meaty to the bone. I don't go boneless. A great dining experience. Had dinner at the North York location tonight. Probably had the worst service ever. There were 3 people at the bar and a couple at a table, along with 2 of us at a booth. We had to summon the server to place an order. I ordered the beef ribs with Cole slaw and onion rings. When I got the ribs, there was no Cole slaw. They told me that they ran out and would not substitute anything. They could have told me before I ordered my food. Then I had to bring my empty glass to the bar to ask for a free refill. Finally, I had to go to the counter and ask for a take out container. I left $0.00 tip and thought that was too much. This place is seldom busy so providing poor service will not help this place. It was the 2nd day of Toronto being open for Stage 3 during COVID-19 as we decided to come here on a Saturday evening for some wings, beer and to catch the Raptors game. Been craving wings for the longest time so decided to try this All Stars location out. Upon entry, they took down your name and number for contact tracing purposes which customers seemed to have obliged without any difficulty. We were immediately told afterwards to point our phone camera at the giant QR code to gain access to the digital menu, which I found was a smart choice on their behalf. Although their drink menu was still a physical one being passed around the restaurant... All staff inside seemed to follow protocol and wore a face mask the entire time. Customers came in wearing a face mask but would then take it off once seated inside. It's a difficult and challenging thing to have customers keep their face masks on while inside for a prolonged period of time if people are constantly eating and drinking. It was a relaxing, normal atmosphere and nothing really seemed that awkward at all. It was interesting to see how many people actually came walking in for a dine in experience while sipping on a beer or two. Although for me personally, I don't think I'll be ready to go dine in at restaurants on a frequent basis just yet. 200 wing flavours! Everyone can find a wing flavour they like at All Stars. On Mondays, they have a 1 and a half lb for the price of 1lb deal. Wings are a little small sometimes but still filling. My favourite flavour is Hail Caesar. They also have a few beer cocktails which are pretty unique. I had the Rocky Mountain which is Coors Light mixed with other drinks to make a cocktail. I've been to this location quite a few times. I've tried a number of items on their menu now. I've tried Pandora's box, ceaser does Texas, and quite a few other ones but my favourite wings here have got to be Vesuvius!!! It is so good, a must try if you like creamy wings that have a bit of a kick. Kleopatra is a little similar to Vesuvius in creaminess, however it's a little sweeter with no spice at all. The sweet potato fries were good, especially the dip that it came with, but I must say, the Greek fries and the hail ceaser fries are always a hit in my books! Overall, good place if you're in the mood for some wings! Went even more recently and got Vesuvius, Pandoras gift (honey garlic but hot) which was very complementary to Vesuvius. We ordered the Greek fries & the Hail Caesar fries (which in this instance came with honey garlic sauce). I feel as if the fries become heavy after the first couple of bites & it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. The fries were crispy, but soggy close to the middle of the bunch. They also lacked salt on the fries that didn't have any topping. The Hail Caesar fries came with honey garlic and ranch sauce, with fries that were more similar to wedges. AllStar's customer service and food quality has really gone downhill over the past few years. I keep coming back in hopes I'll get the satisfaction I use to get when coming here, but in all honesty it keeps getting worse and worse, and they've officially lost me a loyal customer for over 7 years. I decided to call last night and order takeout like I've been doing for the past several months since Covid-19 started. I ordered 2 pounds of breaded Cleopatra wings (honey garlic + hail caesar), with ranch as the dips, and asked for 1 pound of the cleopatra wings to be spicy and the other one regular. I confirmed my order with the girl I was speaking with over the phone, as well as confirmed my order when I arrived and just before I paid. When my food was ready, the bag was double-knotted so tightly that I wasn't able to check my order on the spot - big mistake, PLEASE always check your orders before you leave because AllStar tends to mess it up 8/10 times. As soon as I got home I realized the wings were unbreaded, missing ingredients (the caesar white sauce that comes with Cleopatra), and no ranch dipping sauces. I know times are tough during Covid and they may have been busy, plus messing up orders may not be such a big deal once in a while, but they can't always be messing up orders like this, they mess up orders more often than they get them right. So I finally gave in and decided to call back and explain what happened in hopes of getting some sort of note left with my number to have the missing items added to my next order as I live 25 minutes away and didn't want to drive all the way back at 10pm at night. I'm so disappointed in the way they handled this. The same girl picked up the phone and I explained what happened with my incomplete order (nonbreaded wings, missing ingredients and no dipping sauces), making sure not to blame anyone or using any harsh tones. The girl offered to get a manager on the line. A couple minutes pass by and the same girl comes back on the line, switching up her tone of voice and getting an attitude. She tried to act smart by saying my order of wings doesn't come with caesar sauce, and also said she checked my order when it came out and made sure the wings were breaded. Not only did I watch somebody else bring my order out when it was ready and all she did was pass the order to me and NOT open the containers to check, but I've been ordering the same flavour wings for years, I know what ingredients it consists of. I asked her what cleopatra wings are, and she said honey garlic, caesar sauce and Parmesan... girl are you okay? You just told me my order doesn't come with caesar sauce then proceeded to contradict yourself while explaining that Cleopatra wings DOES come with it... she then said that AllStar has changed their policy due to Covid and they don't give dipping sauces for their wings unless it's asked for, and she said I never asked for it, even though I DID ask for it and confirmed my entire order with her twice. At this point I had no energy left to argue, she either knew she was in the wrong or she didn't know what she was doing in general. Please save your time and money, go to a different AllStar location, or if this is the closest location around you, please make sure to physically open your order and make sure it's correct, because at the end of the day you're the paying customer and your order should be exactly how you expect it. read more

We stopped in for a quick bite after spending all day at a sporting event in Pickering. The place was empty, which should have been the first sign but we were very hungry so we decided to give it a try. First off, the service was very good. This review is for the food. We ordered mozzarella sticks and fried pickles. They were both good and the tomato sauce served with the mozzarella sticks had a nice heat on the end of it. That is where the good part ends. The wing menu was overwhelming. There must have been over 200 different kind of wings on the list. With that many options I was looking for a sampler, but there wasn't one. A customer had to order wings by the pound and was only allowed more than one flavor if they ordered 5 pounds! That wasn't happening...so onto something else with the menu. I settled on a grilled cheese that had pulled pork, brie, bacon and caramelised onion. This should have been so good but fell so short. The onion was in huge chunks, the bacon was fatty and not crunchy, the pulled pork as bland. It was such a disappointment. My significant other had fish and chips. I have to admit that I raised my eyebrows when he placed his ordered for that in a place like this...but I couldn't stop him. I think he regretted his decision when he asked for vinegar and was brought onion vinegar instead of malt. Thankfully he isn't fussy and ate regardless. When I asked him how it was, his response was "it's food". My thoughts exactly. I can't say that we will return or even recommend this place given that the fries were not seasoned...even with a sprinkle of salt. They have so many flavours without any descriptions so I decided to just choose a random one. The quality of their wings is alright. It's definitely much better than St.Louis, which I personally find to be extremely dry. I got 1lb of wings of the Killer Bee flavour and it had a very nice kick to it. The spicy-ness wasn't too overpowering and the wings weren't dry like I was expecting. Each order of wings comes with 3 celery sticks and a choice of 1 dipping sauce. I enjoyed my usual pound of Blue Honey (blue cheese and honey garlic) quite a lot. They don't smoother too thick of blue cheese sauce onto the wings as much as Wild Wings, yet the flavour blends just right. Another flavour I've tried was the dry rub of Roasted Garlic & Pepper. I rarely have dry-styled wings but this was surprisingly delicious! It did not make the wings dry at all but seasoned with the right amount - not salty either. The downside of this location is service. Perhaps it was the lack of staff but that's no excuse. We were seated in a booth and the waitress gave us our water. She disappeared for a long while and had to flag down in order to get our food orders in. Secondly, when the wings came, there was no bone bucket, utensils or napkins provided. Again, the waitress had to be flagged down very difficultly. In general, service was not great. My recent visit has been very disappointing. At first, all of our party hasn't arrived yet, it was just half of us. For unknown reasons, they wouldn't seat us unless the majority of us were there so, we had to wait at the front till everyone came. Seems like some minor arbitrary policy they had so we were happy to wait, still pointless. Our server was attentive in the beginning until we ordered everything then that's when the service went down hill. She pretty much disappeared on us. She maybe checked up on us once and after that we probably didn't see her for another half an hour or longer, we ended up staying there close to 3 hours. I'm assuming because they force gratuity on us, we had more than 6 people, that she probably stopped carring knowing it was guranteed she would get tipped. We had to ask other waitresses that frequently passed by us for our own. How am I seeing other waitresses more frequently than the one that was serving us? In the end it took us a while to even get our bill. It was the little things that kept adding on which lead to a disappointing experience. This restaurant is a great place to watch sporting events. There are multiple large televisions with a good sound system that ensures you catch the whole game without having to strain our voices. I've never really heard much about the food here but thought that I would try their wings and some appetizers. I got a Double of their most popular flavour, Nero's Epilogue. Its a creamier dressing with cheese on top. Although it was rated as a Hot flavour, its quite mild. The sauce itself is delicious and I had to resist ordering another two pounds. I didn't even have time to snap a picture because I was lost in the wings! I followed up this order with a side of the All Star Nachos which came out rather quickly. The Lemon Pepper wings were really peppery. The Orange Ginger wings had a nice crisp bite yet still freshly fried and tender. We also ordered the Beefeater Onion Rings and we really enjoyed those. The Greek salad not so much. The lettuce was chopped too finely, kind of limp and had 2 olives. We will return to this location. I don't know why there were so many poor reviews. No one greeted us for 10 minutes until we walked up to the manager and asked to place a to go order. We also told her that no one picked up the phone. She said she hasn't been at the bar for a while. They were also being prioritized or that how it atleast felt to us. In my club this is a big no no. The washrooms was disgusting. There was a bottle of lotion behind the bar on the alcohol shelf for everyone to see. Also a set of keys. Again. This is a big no no in my club. Lastly the food. Wings were great as per usual. The burger poutine was missing gravy. I don't even know how. It's been on the menu since the beginning. Bottom line. Not great. Alright, so I have been to this AllStar location many times and it's definitely an awesome joint to go to if you eat, breathe and sleep chicken wings lol. If you're coming for a big sports game, you better get your lazy ass here early because you'll be waiting a while otherwise. I'd also recommend making a reservation if you're a group of 4 or more people. When it comes to the wings, well you have over 200 flavours that are categorized under a specific heat or spice rating, such as 3 star, 4 star, 5 star, 5 alarm etc. If you can really eat spicy without crying like a wuss, you can probably handle 4 star and hotter. But it'd be wise to use your own discretion than rely on this awesome review. Seems like every time I go here, there are new girls working, which doesn't always bring out the best impression of how the employee experience probably is here. Regardless, I must point out that you have some smokin sinoritas waitressing here so that's always a plus, am I right fellas?! Anyway, you'll have a really good time here with plenty of food choices to choose from outside of just wings.
