From a customer perspective, my experience was very mixed. When I called to ask if they had the…read moreconsole I was looking for, the lady on the phone was very nice. They had the item, and for a cheaper price than another pawn store, so I decided I wanted it. She gave me her name and told me to ask for her when I got to the shop. The service I got once I was at the store was different. It may not have been intentional - maybe he was on the spectrum, or maybe he was high on something - but the guy who helped me came across as kinda rude and patronizing. I was initially excited about the savings of buying a console in a pawn shop instead of new or from an individual, but between taxes and the return-warranty it ended up being about the same price as buying from an individual, and the in-store service was just uncomfortable.

I've been in there several times and it's just a seedy atmosphere. Although pawn shops aren't the…read morefanciest of stores, this place gives me the creeps. And the help is quite surly. I wasn't too impressed with their lowballing of merchandise; for myself, and for other customers around me. I went in twice and both times left without selling or buying. I had two rings: one a small gold wedding set with less than a 1/4 karat diamond and they offered me $240, which was fine; but my platinum 2 karat diamond engagement ring which was gorgeous and untainted, and platinum wedding band with almost 1 karat, which originally had been valued at almost $5,000, only rang up $500. Seems like a screw is loose somewhere!

All of their items are very reasonably priced, which is great, but I keep coming back because they have such a large selection of very unique items, especially their jewelry. You also won't find nicer people anywhere. I love this store.

I've always left with some fun piece of jewelry that I felt was unique and priced well. The last time I went in April 2026 I had a significantly different experience. From the time that I entered the store the woman at the glass counter was quite aggressive and literally would not let me look at the items in the case without hovering over me. The store is quite small. Even when I went to each side of the case, she moved right along with me. It was quite rude. I actually couldn't shop the way that I really want it to because she was hovering so much It was distracting. I told her that I was visiting from California and had been there several times and enjoyed it previously. I also told her that I always recommend the store to people who asked me for recommendations for things that they should do or see when they go to New Orleans. I shared with her that the last time that I was in town My daughter and I bought matching mother/daughter rings from the store and several other items in hopes that she would understand that I'm a return customer and back off of me. I also told her that I was with a group of people and although I had stopped in alone , they were expected to follow soon. She remained rude and condescending asking me where are these people that I was with, if I was with such a big group. At that very moment I quietly texted my husband and told him to please join me right away because I didn't know why the female clerk was hostile in her behavior towards me. In the meantime I also group texted my friends and told them don't bother to come, instead I would meet them at the cafe down the street when I was done. In the end I was very disappointed because I had previously had nothing but good experiences there. Unfortunately this experience left me a bad taste in my mouth. The store is cute but it's certainly isn't the biggest nor the best that I've ever seen. It certainly wasn't worth the the bother. There are just too many other places to shop that are welcoming and warm, especially in New Orleans.
