We had a great time in Tulum and had dinner T Chambao. The dinner, service and atmosphere were amazing.

Great food, service and ambiance. We will definitely visit again when we return to Tulum.

Great for the vibes, but overpriced for subpar food. The value was just not there. We were so excited to visit this spot after seeing it all over instagram. However, our experience wasn't the best. Service wasn't too great either, they didn't fill up our waters, bring salt when requested, or ask if we'd like a second glass of wine. Our steak, which we enjoy medium-rare, came pretty much raw and with absolutely no flavor. Mind you, before ordering, the server was boasting that this was the best steak in Tulum. A couple at our table had a similar experience with theirs. The saving grace for our meal was the creamed corn and truffle mashed potatoes which were very good. Earlier in the day at Tantra we had ordered the octopus which was DELICIOUS! (Tantra is another RosaNegraGroup property) but what we got at Chambao was cold, chewy, and too acidic/salty. The drinks were fine but $25 for a Don Julio margarita. The second drink was okay as well, I was expecting something better. The vibe was fun with great music, beautiful space, and the occasional sparkler show. We did enjoy the seafood tartar though. So that, the sides, and the ambiance is what contributed to stars. I don't mind paying $300* for a dinner, but it better be worth it, and this certainly wasn't.

My bf and I love RosaNegra Group. Although, it's expensive considering we are in Mexico, the service and food always exceed our expectations. We went to Chambao on our second night in Tulum. We loved the location due to the open space and music. We didn't have reservations, walked in and got a seat right way. We were taken care of by Erick, and he was great! I appreciated his recommendations and prompt service. First, they brought us bread with butter that was incorporated with different items such as lemon, garlic and truffle. Truffle was definitely my favorite. As for appetizers, I ordered the tuna tartare. I forgot the name of the drinks that were recommended but ALL were delicious! Erick helped us with our entrees and it was SO good. We ordered the lamb chops and lobster and everything was cooked to perfection. We managed to save room for desserts, enjoyed more cocktails and just enjoyed the music throughout the night. It was an amazing time!

My husband and I stopped in and were blown away. We had the double bone in ribeye, literally never have had such tender steak. The seafood tartar was insane. Also they made all the accommodations for my gluten allergy. The service was top notch and ambience was beautiful.

Came here for a birthday dinner while in Tulum. This place was really neat. It's not indoors but not outdoors either. They have a cool photo op place out front; we came in the evening so everything looked super cool lit up. I have no clue what it actually looks like in daylight! They offer a show while you eat with aerial silk performers and then a fashion show. The food was reasonably priced and pretty tasty! We ordered so much food! The cerviches were amazing as well as the lobster. The drinks were very pretty! We had the bottle service with the sparklers. It was a good time! Definitely recommend this place!

First lets me say that the staff and entertainment are amazing. If you're looking for a restaurant with ambiance, low lighting, live entertainment you should check out Chambao. If the review was solely about the performers and staff definitely a 10/10. The aerial performances, dancers and musicians are who make this restaurant a vibe and without them it would struggle IMO. Now the menue, whew it's just too much and again not worth the price since some of the items are imported which means it's frozen and not fresh. Taboo, Tantra, Rosa Negra and Chambao all provide the same vibes with different amenities and entertainment.

This place was amazing!!!! The vibe, customer service, and food was exceptional. 1Kira and Gucci were our servers and there were awesome! 1Kira make some good food and drink recommendations that helped us decide what we wanted to eat and drink. If you are in Tulum this is definitely a place to come check out. You will not be disappointed! They have live DJ and acrobatic performances.

    Surf and turf tacos

A must visit if you are in Tulum! The food was great! I got the surf and turf tacos. They were a little dry and could have used more sauce, but the flavor was excellent. We went for a wedding reception/dinner, so the vibe and ambiance was perfect. Great place if you are looking for a fun dinner vibe with music, but not a full on club experience. Service was a little slow, but we did have a very large group so I won't hold it against them. Very attentive and nice. Definitely would go back!

My husband and I came the other other night. It was a great environment and entertainment. I tried ordering the king crab Mac & cheese but was told they didn't have king crab legs as it wasn't in season...mmmkay. We eventually ordered sea bass ceviche, cowboy steak, salmon, spinach Parmesan, Brussels sprouts, and a total of 4 drinks. Everything was deliciously made...no issues there. I took off 2 stars as they tried to get over on us. Our waiter stated they prefer cash tip...cool, not a problem. Problem is the tip was already added to our final bill ($38.90), yet was expecting more. I questioned this & was told this was to support the other staff (bar tenders, cooks, etc). Shouldn't that be my choice or it should be clearly stated that is what's done? The final charge on our card didn't include the tip. Now I'm wondering if I never said anything, would we had paid that and then double tip by giving cash. All in all, pay attention to your final bill! A mandatory tip should be for a large group, not 2 people!

I have been to the Riviera Maya many times and this is one of the best places I've been. The environment, the live entertainment, the food, the drinks are very creative and they have a great selection of wines. If you are looking for a unique experience, make reservations here. The food is out of this world. The service is superb. It is pricey but worth every penny you spend there. If there is anything you need, they make it happen. It is a first class restaurant as well as the food. I read some reviews and sounds like people expects to pay pennies for services and food when they wouldn't spend it back home, wherever they are from. This place is worth every penny: food, service, entertainment, ambiance, etc I was very happy with all. The manager comes around the tables, etc. it was great. Started with Crab Cake, continue with House Special Tarantine, Octopus Ceviche and finished with the Flambeed Pineapple. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Unique experience that you can't find easily.

The aesthetic of this place is beautiful!!! It was my birthday and we ordered a bottle of champagne and they definitely made me feel special. It is a little on the pricier side but the food was really good! I originally wanted the exotic fish that they offered on the menu but sadly they were sold out so I had to settle for the salmon which was still a really great choice, especially with the side of spinach. But if you want to celebrate your birthday, engagement, or just life I would definitely recommend celebrating here.

Had a blast celebrating my bachelorette in tulum and one of the dinners was at Chambao. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting to celebrate. Our group of 10 sat right in front of the DJ and we really had a blast. From the aesthetics, service, live entertainment, food- everything was 10/10!! The staff really made it super memorable for me. Thank you!!

One of Tulum's best gems. If you want a full on experience, this place is a must go to. The restaurant is beautiful and very classy. They have live music, Ariel performers, runway show, and more. The food is also delicious and the drinks are to die for. We had such an amazing time here.

1-Star Review for BAK Tulum…read more We were very disappointed with our experience at BAK Tulum, especially since it was meant to be a special anniversary dinner. I clearly mentioned to the staff that I am pregnant and asked for my steak to be well done. When our steaks arrived, mine was rare inside. I immediately brought it to their attention, and they took it back. My husband waited to eat with me, and after about 10 minutes, they returned my steak -- yes, it was cooked through, but they had simply thrown it back on the grill, leaving the entire crust black and burned. A proper well-done steak should be baked or finished carefully, not charred. I had to cut around the burnt parts and could only eat the inside, leaving my plate full of burnt steak pieces. We also ordered banana cream and churro waffles for dessert -- both were disappointing, we barely had two bites each. They brought us two complimentary champagnes, which was thoughtful -- but again, I had already told them I was pregnant. They didn't bother to offer me a non-alcoholic alternative, so I couldn't enjoy anything. When the bill arrived, the manager had said the desserts would be complimentary, but they were still charged on the bill, along with the champagne we never ordered. After pointing this out, the waiter said he made the changes but questioned who told me that, claiming I "heard wrong." Only after insisting did he remove the desserts from the check. We paid $700 USD for a $626.16 bill, expecting the change in pesos as agreed. Based on the daily exchange rate (18.46), the change should have been 1,363.50 pesos, but we were given 1,240 pesos, short 123.5 pesos. When questioned, the waiter said, "our restaurant's rate is 17," which still didn't add up and left us short again. Throughout the entire experience, no one apologized -- not for the burnt steak, not for the billing confusion, and not for the dishonest handling of the exchange rate. In person, I gave them the chance to make things right, but they chose not to. That's why I'm writing this review -- not to complain, but to warn others. The music and fireworks were great, but the food, service, and honesty were deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience ruined our anniversary night.

From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind. It's also in line with other nice restaurants in Tulum regarding price, but we felt it was worth it. Lastly, make a note that they charge for water so you're not surprised when you get the bill.

So definitely the beet! We are sure tried the fish collar, which many people skip not realizing that this might be the most delicate and flavorful part of the fish. We were able to come early at 6pm, only half an hour after they open, and by the time we left an hour later, to say they were full is an understatement. If you like to start the evening calm, as I do, I'd highly suggest coming early and then wandering the street. This also gives you a little time to talk to your wait staff. The server we had (I apologize, I have forgotten his name but I'll ask my husband and add it later) guided us through the menu and had excellent knowledge of each item. Menus are written on sandwich boards placed around the restaurant and the waiters come to your table and explain every menu item in detail. My waiter was very helpful with recommendations and answering any questions I had. I ordered the collar de pescado and the tostada de tartar for my apps, the fillete de robalo (sea bass) for a main, and the berenjena (roasted eggplant) for a side. The collar de pescado, the sea bass collar, was absolutely delicious. The fish was soft and tender, topped with a robust tomato based sauce. Super flavorful. 9/10. The tostada de tartar was also outstanding. The crisp tortilla paired perfectly with the soft fresh fish. The fish mixture was light, creamy, and a little spicy, topped with some greens for freshness and finished off with some lime juice for acidity and brightness. 10/10. The sea bass fillet was cooked perfectly, the fish was soft and juicy and had an incredible crispy skin that gave it a wonderful crunch. It was paired with a creamy sauce, spinach, and cauliflower. The different elements of the dish worked well together, with the vegetables cutting through the richness of the fish and the sauce adding flavor and a contrasting texture to the crispy fish skin. 9/10. The eggplant was good, however it was my least favorite dish. The eggplant was soft and flavorful on the inside, however the skin was a little bit tough. The mole it was paired with had a nice smoky flavor and I wish there had been more of it. 8/10. For dessert I got their only dessert, the honey cake. OH MY GOD THIS DESSERT WAS LIFE CHANGING. Probably one of if not the best dessert I've ever had. The cake was very dense, with the consistency of a blondie. The honey taste is subtle and there is also a slight smoky flavor that comes through from being cooked in their wood fire oven. The cake is topped with a chamomile whipped cream and salt. The whipped cream is so light and airy while still being incredibly creamy. The lightness of the whipped cream works perfectly with the richness of the cake. The salt on top really takes it up a notch. 11/10. My only complaints are that the wooden benches you sit on are very uncomfortable and it gets very smoky from the wood burning oven, and I was seated almost at the other end of the restaurant. It was also quite loud but the place is small and it was packed, nothing the restaurant can do about that. Prices are steep but well worth it in my opinion.
