I had a white leather Natuzzi sectional that's just about ten years old. While it's pretty clean given its age, the fact that it's white, and the number of kids that I have - it was beginning to have wear cracks at certain spots (where people typically sit) and as a result was beginning to look more "ivory" in spots than "white" and definitely more worn. I chose Chameleon based on the great reviews and before/after photos. Contacting Alex was easy - he responded within a day, followed up with me to get my refinishing scheduled, and I got my couch back in a week! I believe he sprayed some kind of leather refinishing material & conditioned it and I was extremely happy with the result. It looked brand new! Unfortunately, of course within the week my kid got something on her foot, jumped on the sofa, and I needed to wipe to remove a small approximately 1" grass/mud mark. NBD. Because he recommended I use as soft and light colored a fabric as I could find to wipe, I used an eyeglass cloth to wipe it off with what I would consider "medium" pressure and with plain water. I got the stain off, but off also came the finishing material that was applied. The particular spots I wiped now are back to ivory/gray. I asked him if he could help and if he could provide me some recommendations as to how to clean the sofa in the future (which I had already asked when the sofa was dropped off, but I asked again given that my fine eyeglass cloth removed the finish). Given the cost of what I had paid to have my sofa refinished and the promptness at which he responded to get my business initially, I was confident in his help to fix it. That first follow up text was on May 9th. He responded once saying that he'd help, and since then I patiently followed up about once a week. While I gave the benefit of the doubt at first, It is clear to me that I'm being ghosted, won't get follow up on the fix, and I'm a little frustrated that I don't actually know how to clean my sofa should I ever need to wipe something off it. So while I was initially happy with the result, now I'm more anal about my kids doing anything on the sofa because I have no idea how to clean it without going back to the gray/ivory it was before. Off to amazon to buy a sofa cover for whenever I have guests, unfortunately. So: 5 on the initial service. 1 due to the non-follow up. Would recommend if you have a dark colored sofa, or a sofa that's in really poor condition as the benefit of the repair over the risk of not being able to clean it is probably worth it. read more

Found a beautiful three cushion leather sofa free on Craig's List, which precisely matched the one I already have, but it had faded terribly on one end where the previous owner liked to exclusively sit apparently. I have a Stickley "Morris" style chair and ottoman (made in about 1980--rather than 100 years ago--but still the same company and craftsmanship) that Alex and crew brought back to life. I appreciate his patient approach to my many questions about leather refinishing (he even gave me advice on how to oil and old leather business satchel of mine). The leather on this particular chair had faded and blotched badly after being in and out of sunlight streaming through living room windows (kind of like my forehead I guess). He is a student of the art, craft and history of leatherworking and this was most reassuring, because I did not want to put a valuable chair in the hands of someone who would "paint" the leather in some way rather than making the finish an integral and organic part of the hide. I called Chameleon Leather Re-Dying after searching for someone to restore several of our high end Italian leather sofas that were over 20 years old that had been worked over by 2 jumping children and 2 cats. Alex returned my leather wingback yesterday and I truly cannot believe how fabulous it looks. Previously, it was a burgundy color that had faded. So, based on all the other reviews, I expected Alex to walk on water when he arrived at the house to give us an estimate. This didn't happen, however he did bump his halo when he stepped through the doorway. We have a massive, good quality, leather sectional that is about fifteen years old and was in need of refurbishment. Alex gave us a good quote (but not the lowest), and then picked up and delivered on schedule. We couldn't be happier with the results. The sectional looks as good as new and has that "new leather" smell. Moreover, he touched up all the wooden legs at no charge. Well dude hooked it up color matching a cushion I messed up trying to clean. Alex I think his name is. He explained that a cushion with excessive wear will lose its protection coating and any cleaning after can pull the dye out. Well he matched the color exactly and the best part about it, the color was like maroon or mahogany or something and he pulled a trick out his sleeve. He also forced dried it and re protected it, great job bro I appreciate it. Well he gave me a business card and the picture on it looked like he photo shopped a before n after pic. We had a 20+ yr. old leather/fabric set that we love but it was badly faded and cracking on one arm and had some blotches. It was a very expensive set originally and I am glad that I came across a mailer about Alex's company as I would have thrown them out and bought new. I had no idea that leather could be "fixed". When Alex came to look at it he showed me a section where the original color was intact. It was like night and day! Our set is complicated as the pillows are fabric with matching leather cording, and the leather base was marbled. We had him revitalize the leather and upholster with new fabric. Alex delivered them today and my husband and I are amazed! It's almost like a miracle.
