The huge drain pictured is where I came across a family of 6 Somalian refugees encamped just 2 days earlier. Eating, sleeping there. No amount of money I gave them was enough. It's since been roped off. So tonight, my meal was a million stars comparatively. From my Yelp perspective? 5 stars. These were some delicious, spicey Filipino/Korean seasoned crunchy tacos. Almost kimchi, almost adobo. Trust me, completely amazing. Curly fries reminded me of Arby's. The sweet tea, by Libertea. By itself would beat most teas in the south USA. My first burrito did have 99% rice so this one had a little less than 99% so I'd say it's better than that. The chicken was good. The veggies were just like some lettuce and beans. Dips were perfect. I'm not sure if this is authentic burrito, but I'm pretty sure it's not more of rice and not so bland. I can't say I've experienced better, but I guess they can do better. I think they're a bit pricey for most people. For me, it's just right considering how I was filled with just half the burrito (or I probably just have a tiny stomach to fill). Both goodies come with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, and are big enough to share with the whole family. Final verdict: comfort food overloooaaaad. I always get mashed camote (sweet potato) and garlic mushroom. For the regular sides, I like mashed potato, buttered corn and fried saba (banana). You can also ask for a refill of the sauces that come with the chicken (garlic and spicy). Their baby back ribs are quite a splurge, but the ribs are cooked well :) I also get their house blend iced tea which is a great complement to their dishes. The pitcher size is great for sharing. They also have alcoholic drinks like local and imported beer. Compared to its competitors, Gringo has a great vibe that for me is always a plus.
