I took my mothers' 70 year old satin wedding dress to Champion to be restored and preserved. It had several stains and yellowing where we took off the beading to change the neckline and added lace. When I took it there, the owner said he didn't know if it could be cleaned thoroughly, because the lace is 10 years old and the dress is 70. I just picked it up today, and it looks like a brand new dress! This is a great business model! Underpromise/overdeliver. I was told it could cost up to $650, which I was willing to pay. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ALTERATIONS. If I could give 0 stars I would. They've had my best friends dress since May. We have come back 4 times and it is still not ready. Wedding is in 3 days. We took it to another alterations place and they told us a whole host of issues were going on. It was not sewn evenly, the wire was not cut, it didn't zip up, and she didn't even fix the hook and eye! Needless to say our anxiety is at an all time high. The seamstress wasn't even there to make sure it fit the last time when we picked it up... no shock as she knew we would have been extremely upset. It's in my opinion to expensive, believe me I'm a New Yorker and I know expensive! They had plenty of opportunity to explain their business when I was their customer but they didn't! I took some casual summer dresses here for routine dry cleaning because the location was so close to my house. 2 days later I was contacted that they were ready for pick up. Upon arrival I was informed that my cost was $89.50!!!! Are you freaking kidding me?! The associate informed me that each dress was $17.50! I have taken a lot of garments to various dry cleaners in several different states over the years (as I travel for my job), and I have NEVER been charged such outrageous prices - what, are they dry cleaning with gold or something!! There are no prices posted inside, and I never would have thought it would cost so much. They should inform customers that they are the most expensive dry cleaners on the planet!! To top it off, 2 of the dresses still had yellowed stains on them! Save your money, level of frustration, and outrage and simply go ANYWHERE else!!! read more

The Calera location is excellent. Vestavia, if I request that buttons be replaced, it's 50-50 if it'll happen. I requested my slacks to be creased and my jeans to be flat ironed. They hit about 25% accuracy on getting that correct. I drive 40 miles to use them, I think I can find a cheaper, closer, and more accurate alternative. read more

Champion cleaners had good reviews on cleaning wedding gowns/ dresses. So my wife and I had champion cleaners steam and clean my her wedding dress before the wedding in August 2016 . When we picked it up The manager at 280 said " we are so sorry" there were deep discolored stains and areas that were coming apart all over the dress. So my bride was in tears / crushed as champion cleaners did not pay for the cost of the dress. Obviously we didn't pay for this company ruining the dress . As a suggestion get the facts upfront with champion cleaners and David (the owner ). I realize no business is perfect and integrity and doing what's right didn't happen in our situation . If so this company should of paid for our dress or fixed the issues . We only plan on getting married once in this lifetime . Guess it doesn't make sense to this establishment . We purchased another dress at our own personal cost. I hope this helps anyone looking to get there wedding dress taken care of by champion cleaners . We recommend to use another . I recently had an issue where a shirt I ordered online did not arrive in time for Champion Cleaners' Alterations Department to shorten the sleeves for me to take on a West Coast business trip. After I resigned myself to the fact that I would not be able to take my new shirt with me, Champion had other ideas. One of their Greystone employees, PERSONALLY drove over 40 minutes one way to deliver the shirt to the alterations lady at her residence so I could get me shirt returned to the store in less than 24 hours. I have never had such a terrible experience with laundry as I had with this company. I dropped off a fee loads of laundry on my way to work to give my wife a break from it, as we have a infant at the house that requires majority of her time as most people would understand. We also live in a small apartment that doesn't have a washer or dryer, and the laundry mat is constantly in use and rarely available. I chose this service in hopes it would take some pressure off of her as well as myself. I was mortified by what I saw when I got home as 90-95% of our clothes had sustained wrinkles and damage that has not been able to be fixed still to this day (Service was about 2 weeks ago). Hundreds of dollars in clothes, including work clothes, have been ruined. And I guarantee when I call they will say there is nothing they can do about it. The employees were so very friendly at drop off and pick up. My clothes look great and everything was ready super fast. As a first time customer I dropped my clothes off for wash, dry and fold and asked them to put my shirts on hangers. They said at the latest my clothes would take about 48 hours and as I dropped them off on Wednesday morning I was told they would email by Friday afternoon letting me know the clothes were done. I didn't get an email so I called them on Saturday afternoon and was told that they just finished my laundry. I asked why it took so long and the person was a bit rude and said next time let them know you need them done sooner. Then I picked up my laundry and the shirts and pants were folded but very wrinkled and now we have to iron them which was the whole reason why I decided to pay for them to help us. I didn't expect them to iron my clothes but they shouldn't be so badly wrinkled. They must have sat in the dryer or in a pile for a long time before they were actually folded. I will never use them again and will use a dry cleaner instead. Lesson learned. read more
