Needed a drop off laundry (wash and fold) with a quick turn around on a Friday. I called around 20 spots in the Birmingham area and all noted they couldn't get it done and back to me before Monday. I'll be needing a place to do laundry while going through a home remodel. Based on the reviews of fellow Yelpers I gave Soap Box a try. Thanks for the recommendations! Even with it being a busy weekend day I was immediately greeted by Tilly. She obviously pegged me as a clueless newbie. I admitted I was clueless how to go about getting a card for the machines, or even what machines to use for that matter. She dropped what she was doing and took the time to walk me through the card acquisition, made suggestions to which washers and dryers would be the best options based on what I'd brought in. She made sure I got them started and kept an eye out again when it was time for me to move to the dryers. She made the entire experience so comfortable and easy there is no doubt that I'll be returning regularly until the construction is finished. read more

It's literally been years since I've needed to go to a laundromat but I made the ridiculous decision to try and wash a queen mattress pad in my washing machine. Ended up at Soapbox and was so pleased. There were several employees, all of them cheerful and helpful. The attendant looked at what I had brought in, helped me select the type of machine that best suited the job, estimated the drying time and then directed me to the payment counter. The time needed determines the cost. I gave her my credit card and she loaded money onto one of their cards. They also had detergent available for purchase. I then inserted their card into the washer and then the dryer. (You keep the card and it can be reloaded on a future visit.) The chore was completed in 1hr and 15 min. They have seats near the machines so you can keep an eye on your items. The place is extremely clean and I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Found myself again in need of clean clothes. I again went on the hunt and found Soap Box. They were also advertised in my hotel where Mon - Fri they do a pickup service. Dropped off my dirty duds around 9 am and expected to see them around 3pm. The wonderful Rosa said she would have them ready by 12-1. Sweet lunch, pick up laundry and time for a nap! I got a call at 1205 my laundry was ready. It was done how I asked nearly folded and shirts were hung nicely. The place was pretty busy but seemed well maintained and clean. I didn't venture that far in to the place but you can usually tell with a look around. Cost was $24 for about 1 1/2 load of laundry. I would recommend this place for your laundry needs. Service is friendly, quick and reasonably priced. Would definitely use them again when I'm in town. read more

You know, I read these reviews prior to the visit. Holy moly. This is the BEST laundromat I have ever been to, and I honestly cannot wait to return to do more laundry. The service is impeccably quick, the people--oh the PEOPLE! The folks in this laundromat are SO kind and willing to help! Seriously, usually reading reviews and seeing "oh they help out and the customer service is fantastic" sometimes means the business is just having a really good day-- BUT for this place? They obviously take care of this business and withhold such high standards of customer service that this is true for EVERY DAY! Laundry is a new favorite chore if this place is involved. Johnny was incredible, as he was so happy to help. Genuinely, I think this fella loves giving wonderful service. Amazing, amazing, amazing! The machines are super quick, as we used the largest machines that fit 8 loads each. We were finished washing AND drying within an hour and fifteen minutes. I was so impressed. Our clothing smells great and looks so fresh. Another thing, these people who work here treat your clothes with SO much care. I watched numerous bags being packed of clothes that they so gently folded and placed in the bag so gently and neatly. The folks genuinely do this to help people out. This is a full service laundromat. They do it all- dry cleaning, self service, etc. It is VERY clean, as the bathrooms are also nice and clean. Another thing I noticed was that the workers ALL had a mask on. However, the customers did not all have one on, but to see the workers still have a mask on made me even more comfortable and confident of their service. Johnny also helped us set up a laundry card. We loaded money on it easily, as he helped us do that too. He told us specifically how much we would more than likely need, and he was 100% correct! He also asked us a few times if we were doing okay and needed anything. We ended up purchasing a large purple laundry bag that fits a TON of clothing as well. I come to Hoover, AL for training a couple times a year, and sometimes for several weeks at a time. Soap Box Laundromat handles my laundry for me every time. They have great prices, and they're incredibly fast. Often I drop off my clothes to be laundered, and they're done within a couple hours. Their same day service is absolutely amazing. But what I like best, is how nice the employees all are. They're extremely friendly and professional. They care about their customers, and it literally shows. After traveling for the last 2 1/2 years, this has been the nicest laundromat so far. The washers are fast and clean everything from clothing to rugs well. The dryers are very large. The low settings don't burn the blankets (that's happened to me before). There's plenty of room to walk around, lots of folding tables, and the staff is awesome. I have always done the drop off and pick up service for the past years Today I tried the pick up service from my apartment. Could not be more pleased! When I called to get this set up could not have more helpful! Jack called me the next day. Went off without a hitch Left my laundry and hangers outside my front door this morning. Picked it up this afternoon. They even hung up my pajamas not just my blouses. If Yelp would give me opportunity to give them 10 stars I would. This place is great. It's very clean. The owners are friendly and helpful with getting started. If your washing your own clothes, it is set up so that you put money on their proprietary card (located to the right when entering) and then use that card on the machines. When using it on the dryer, each swipe of the proprietary card gives you 5 min of drying time. They also have a wash and fold drop-off service that seems pretty reasonably priced. They have WiFi available and they'll gladly give you the password. The owner says that sometimes it goes down, but to just let them know and they'll fix it with a quick reset. read more

I haven't stepped foot in a laundromat in some 15 - 20 years, but my dryer went out yesterday and ya gotta do whatcha gotta do! I had to call and ask if they still used quarters to operate? I spoke to Antonio. He was so nice and understanding of my somewhat ignorant questions. But hey if ya don't know, Ask! By the way - they don't use quarters any more :) Anyhow, when I arrived I just needed to dry. He helped me set up my card and get the clothes started. The facility is clean and pretty quiet. The best laundromat that I have ever used. I had a 8x10 Ruggable (washable rug) that I have dreaded washing because of the rug size. I found this wonderful business on Yelp with an all 5 ratings. So I went there and found out I could just drop off the rug and pick it up in 2 hours. It was washed and dried on time and it was perfectly cleaned. I think I'll buy more Ruggables, just because how easy it is to get them cleaned here!!! read more

My washing machine went out and will not be in for a few days and we were running out of laundry. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was my first time going to a laundry mat, embarrassingly I was a bit nervous. The sweet guy showed me the ropes and got me going.
