They meet you at the kiosk and sign you up for a membership with no knowledge you are doing so. I live in A DIFFERENT STATE. There is no reason I would ever sign up for a membership. I've been a member at Champion xpress Car Wash since I bought my truck brand new, but after this last experience, I won't be coming back. Before going through the wash the last time, I asked the manager directly about how dirty my truck was, because I was worried it might cause damage. He told me they would pressure wash it first and that it would be fine. I trusted him and went through...big mistake. After that wash, the clear coat was noticeably worse, and now the paint has scratches all over it. My truck was in great condition before, and it's really disappointing that I was reassured everything would be okay only to have obvious damage afterward. Champion Express Carwash is a dishonestly run organization. If you drive up for a car wash and they ask you if you would like to try a month of unlimited car washes tell them NO. What they don't tell you, but should, is that the charge is a monthly subscription and that you will continue to be charged each month on your credit or debit card. I went to the location at the "Santa Fe Place Mall" and talked to the manager, Mr. Curtis Miller. He acted upset with the employee who forgot to tell me it was a recurring charge and said he would talk to his employees to remind them how important it was that they be transparent. I asked him for a refund of the unwanted recurring charge in April and he said Corporate had frozen the system and handed me his card asking me to please come after the 15th of May when the freeze was lifted. Before going back that morning I checked my account and saw another charge for $44.35 from the day before. I asked for a refund of both amounts but was told by Mr. Miller that he was only authorized to refund one month and gave me a receipt from his system for just $25 (the cost of a single car wash, not my $44.35) and that it would take 7 to 10 days. I also went to my Credit Union to contest the car wash charge on my account and they asked me if it was "Champion Express Carwash" before I even finished telling them my concerns . They said they get many complaints about them. So, if I don' receive my refund in the 7 to 10 days as Mr. Miller told me, I will elevate my concern to the State Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau in New Mexico and their Corporate Offices home state. Champion Car Wash is terrible. I went there in April 2026 for a single wash. The attendant told me that for the same price I could get a car wash anytime for the next month. When I was charged again the month after, I wrote them immediately asking them to remove the charge and dis-enroll me from the subscription I never consented to. I never heard back from them, so I checked my credit card and discovered that I was now billed for a third month. I called their customer service line and explained the situation. The guy agreed to remove the charges, but never acknowledged their duplicity. He told me the agreement was on the kiosk. So no contract, no receipt specifying the terms of the contract, and worst of all no acknowledgement that their agents are misleading customers. They have an attendant who dries the car once you've been through the car wash, but he does an awful job. I had to get out and go over my entire car with a towel. he missed most of the places on the car that were still wet. Also, it's priced on the higher side for car washes. read more

I went to wash my car not knowing the car wash hours. Paid to go through tunnel just before 7 pm dried my car and all vacuums were turned off. Spoke to a rude staff. At the very least the person taking my money could have mentioned that they would be turned off. I would have understood and happily returned the next day. Now I will never return. I will never do business with this place if it is busy, and only reluctantly. I waited 30 minutes only to be turned away when the car wash broke down. No apology, no complimentary wash, and I was astonished to see that they had the nerve to charge me for no service. I don't like giving tips in advance either. In this case it was bad karma for sure. So about a month ago I want in to this car wash and I was told it was 36 dollars a month for membership and you can add up to 4 cars for same price. I got my bill statement today and it was 102.00. This place seems in some respects, pretty low-key scam-y. A couple months back, I was told by the representative at the pay station they have a deal where you can do two special washes a month for ~$30. Went for it, went through the wash station, came out with major scratches on my windshield. So much for a deluxe wash lol Forgot about it (didn't realize it was a recurring charge ... and so far as I recall, was not informed). fast forward a couple months later, I find the recurring charge on my credit card for $44... ?... Update February 9, 2025: Champion Xpress paid the total cost at the Paint & Body shop. They also refunded my credit card for the initial carwash price after I asked a few times. DAMAGE WARNING with pictures: I took my brand new 2025 Mazda of less than one month to Champion Xpress on January 8 2025. I bought the top tier package which stated it included waxing and, more importantly, a pre-soak. There appeared to be no pre-soaking to 90% of my car- the washing device came down on my dry car with nothing but foamy suds. Now my car has more damage on it than my 10 year old trade in. My trade in had been to many automatic washes before and I've never had this issue. The quote to fix the damage is $1088.00, which includes buffing out the scratches (hopefully) and replacing the trim that is gouged. I filed a damage report immediately at the car wash and immediately documented this with pictures as well. The manager spent a moment looking at my car and then went back inside without saying much else other than, "this didn't happen today though right?" (it was maybe 45 minutes prior), and then, "I'll have my employee handle a damage report." When I brought up the lack of pre-soaking as the likely culprit, I was told by the employee that they don't use as much water because they have a specialized PH system instead. I was told probably 6-8 weeks before any kind of response from the damage report. *The only personal opinion I'll state is that 6-8 weeks for merely a response is not acceptable from a reputable business and I feel people need to be aware of my experience here. Beware, this carwash does paint damage!!! What's worse is that the business' damage claims process is a charade. The first and only time I went to this business, the hood and roof of my new truck were heavily scratched by the spinning brushes. Staff claimed they didn't know why this happened as the machines were all new and recently calibrated. I filled out a company's claims form and the manager took photos of the damage to the paint and he said I'd receive an email from their claims dept. in the next few days. I called their claims department over a week later and they said they never received the claim paperwork from the carwash manager. I went by the carwash two weeks later and the asst. manager said they have a lot of claims to submit, including mine. Definitely NOT renewing my membership. They do a really poor job of pre-washing your car. If they bother to do it at all. I've had the same guy pre-wash my car numerous times. (It's the guy with the harelip). He just yells and scowls at you. If he is in the mood he will squirt down your windshield. He has NEVER once used the brush on my car. Frankly, I wouldn't trust him to use it. It may be to technologically advanced for him. And don't get me started on the hours of operation. They seem to open and close whenever they feel like it. They certainly don't follow the posted hours of operation. I guess the hours of operation are a loose guideline. 38 bucks for unlimited monthly washes may sound like a good deal, but it's not worth it when you see how poor of a job they actually do. The "customer service" aspect of their business is severely lacking. I had signed up for a monthly unlimited car wash service. Over a two month period I used it twice and I felt that their equipment was much too hard on my car as it dislodged a couple of side lights and could have caused some more serious damage to my car had I continued to use them. I emailed them and told them of my experience and said that I didn't feel that it was a good fit for my car, and that I'd like to discontinue the auto-pay on my credit card. The response that I received was very disappointing. I was told that 'they were sorry about my experience, but they were unable to discontinue the auto-pay'. That was it! I've been in a service industry for most of my working career and a small business owner and if that was my response to a dissatisfied customer of mine, I would have been out of business years ago. There was no attempt to reach out and inquire about the damage done to my car and any attempt to reconcile my account as a customer; Nor were they willing to discontinue automatically deducting the $44+ charge every month from my credit card. I had to contact my credit card company and have them put a block on future charges. For these reasons, I feel that I cannot recommend this business and the "buyer beware" stamp of disapproval is my caution. With this sub-par customer satisfaction practice, I feel that they're not to be trusted as a safe and reliable car wash service in town. Thankfully, there are plenty to choose from here in Santa Fe. The member charge is a bit high, if a member goes in 15 minutes before closing, the company should not be closing the doors at this time. The vacuums and other items should be left running until the last customer has left. The group of kids that were working on the 4/21/24 were rude and were shutting down the equipment while we were in the middle using the equipment. About 6 vehicles were in the middle of working on their vehicles when everything shut down. If a member pays a 70.00/month, then they should be allowed to use the facilities to the full capacity.
