I purchased a car from Championship Motors on 5/27/2016. Living in CA I was nervous of buying a car sight unseen, so I was pleased when both Atticus and Sonora answered every question I had in a timely manner. Communication was excellent during the whole process and it took around a week to complete the purchase. I had the car shipped and it arrived in pristine condition aside from the usual bugs and dust. The car looks even better than it did in the pictures! Reading some of the reviews on here, I'm surprised because my experience was not even remotely close to some of the stories. Perhaps it was because I was buying a 2013 car with 9,000 miles, not a much older car with many more miles and more unknowns in the history. All I can suggest is do your due diligence before buying a car anywhere you go. Stopped by Championship a few times over the last year or so, mainly because I just like looking at cars. I drive by the dealership all the time on my way to work and the guys always seem nice and not pushy. Just cruised in last month and saw a Ford Raptor sitting there, couldn't resist talking to them about it. Todd has always been there when I stop in, so he told me to hop in let's go for a spin. I honestly had no intention of buying it when I first stopped in just I've always wanted one. I left that day wanting it so bad, but had to talk the wife into it. Came back a week later and told Todd the deal I needed, he got back to me and we made a deal happen. Still can't believe I got my Raptor I've always wanted! The Financing was the other thing, because I had a pre-approved loan with my credit union ready but Todd was able to beat it with their financing so it was actually easier than I expected. Came in to meet Glen and to look at a e92 2012 Bmw m3 that appears to be rotten outside for the past 6 months. I was in disbelief when I came into look at a 30k plus car in horrific condition. When I tried to explain to him what I was expecting out of a 30k car he yelled at me and was being extremely rude and told me he doesn't care if he needed my business that he will just cover it up and sell it to someone else. I'm a mechanic and this one won't even last 2 weeks. Super shady the obd 2 scanning port was open as if they just plug a scanner in to clear codes. Car has been in an accident and the repair done was horrible. I would advise everyone to run from this unprofessional and extremely rude man. Our experience was awful. Our first mistake was believing the car advertised as in "Excellent condition", was indeed, in excellent condition. The price we paid for it was based on it's "excellent condition". The interior looked great, the engine was freshly washed and sprayed with something to make it look new.... We should have known better....but we, 2nd mistake, sadly got excited and trusted... and purchased the vehicle without checking it's Carfax history, 3rd mistake. (no, they did not show it, or offer it to us and we did not think to ask for one). AND, 4th huge mistake; we did not have it checked out by a mechanic before purchasing. The next day something didn't seem right. We took it to a mechanic to find out it was in awful condition and immediately had 2K worth of work done under the hood. It's been an ugly ride ever since. We bought a car last month. When we asked about the inspection, the salesperson was uncertain if the car had been through inspection since it was not even detailed. The manager assured us the vehicle had been inspected and passed inspection. We have since learned from another mechanic that they cleared engine codes, poured AC recharge to make it seem like the AC worked, and that the vehicle will not pass inspection when we try to renew our tabs next year. Because of their lies, we are now looking at a couple of thousand dollars in repair so that our AC will work and our car can pass inspection next year. Stay clear of Championship Motors; they are deceitful and will lie about the condition of their vehicles. read more

Until the day that I was ready to make the purchase, me and my friend found out the right side view mirror is broken. Their boss Atticus explained that they didn't find this before and promised to repair it in the future. And I was dumb that I trust him and made the purchase. One month after, they called me that they ordered the mirror and can install it for me. I don't know if it's the problem with the mirror they ordered or the problem of the mechanic Hector. They screwed up my mirror. Now, my mirror is not fully functional. Atticus tried to cover up this mess with some pretty words and made another promise that they will contact me in a few days with a solution. Now, it's been three weeks Atticus never contact me and ignore all my message. It is very disappointing! Also, their mechanic Hector doesn't allow you to watch him repair your car. read more

Atticus was professional however the manager implied I should be grateful for them getting me a discounted rate at an auto shop. Horrible aggressive conversation that left me flabbergasted after a great experience buying from them. I expect issues with an older car but safety issues such as breaks are another thing. Unprofessional, awful place, do not waste your time coming here. Lot is overcrowded, I ended up getting blocked in after arriving here. This dealership approached me about buying my car I have listed online. After going over the condition of the car in detail, we agreed to a price and set up a time for me to come in. The owner arrived 20 minutes late to the agreed upon time and offered 20% less than we had discussed previously. Complete scam!! They do not check car before selling it! The mechanics they use have no idea what they are doing there! The sales people try to rob you. I was told I didn't have to put 500 down. When I went to sign paper work they tried to tell me to give them 500. I said no and then had to resign paper work but what's funny is my monthly payments went down after not giving them the 500! Also car had issues that they promised to fix via contract. I brought the car in to get fixed and nothing was done was told by mechanic that owner didn't authorize anything to be worked on and when I picked up the car and called the dealership about this I was pretty much told to F myself and get a lawyer! I had to take it to Mercedes to get fixed cause they didn't honor the contract. I will be working with the BBB on this and moving forward! read more

Please save your money and mental health and don't even consider purchasing a car from Championship Motors! On 2/13/2013, purchased a used vehicle from Championship Motors. Asked about vehicle condition and was told, "We had the car checked out". A few days after purchase, car started stalling and stopping in the middle of the road. Also made a rattling noise. Called Championship Motors and they referred me to mechanic, who told me the catalytic convertor and exhaust system were totally shot and needed to be replaced. Mechanic felt Championship Motors probably knew this, and anyone could clearly see the damage if they put the car on the lift. Then, took the car to another mechanic, who verified this problem, and also stated the car had numerous electrical problems also. Got another $800 estimate for repairs. Mechanic stated car was never safe to drive, and should not have been sold in the condition it was. Went to Championship Motors with the pictures of the damage and to discuss this problem. I was told they didn't make much money off used cars, and that just because there were dents on the catalytic converter, it did not mean there was damage on the inside. Of course, the inside is damaged, and that's why the car stops in the middle of the road. Pointed out they were in violation of Washington State law RCW 46.70.101 - It is a violation of dealer licensing regulations for a dealer to sell a car that cannot be safely operated on public highways. A car that constantly comes to a sudden stop is certainly not safe to drive. Neither the employee, nor the owner of this business, Mr. Steve Spencer would do anything but refer us to a muffler business, saying, "We aren't going to do anything, we don't make any money from these cars". After I paid several thousand dollars to completely rebuild the exhaust system and fix the other numerous problems with this car, I filed a complaint with the BBB. Championship Motors then backpedaled, and agreed to pay for the replacement of the "repair", but I had already paid for the repair. They never sent me any payment. Ended up dumping the car for less than $500. Huge waste of money. A very lesson learned. There's a reason used car dealers have such a bad reputation. read more

I bought a car from Steve 25 years ago and since then purchased others. Steve has always been a professional. The cars I have purchased have been great and at a great price. I have referred many of my friends to them and all have had a very good experience. Used car dealerships get a reputation, unfortunately, this one deserves everything said. I bought a nice looking BMW convertible, they hemmed and hawed when I pointed out that the top didn't work - seriously, a convertible that doesn't .... convert. Their responses were evasive like, "er, it was working yesterday" and "are you sure, seemed fine earlier". Against my instincts (and with my ex-wife's insistence that we buy it because it 'looks nice') I bought the car with the insistence that they fix the top to factory condition. They agreed. Talk about a worthless work order. First they sent the car to a "handy guy" that the owner knew. He wasn't so handy and couldn't fix it. After nearly a week and half, they saw that I wasn't going to go away and decided to bite the bullet and send it to a German car specialist up the road near them (no doubt with instructions to "keep it cheap" because they probably send the guy tons of business). The top got stuck in the open position ... then it started to rain (which didn't really matter, because the top leaked like a submarine with a sunroof...and leaked major oil to boot). I was pretty queued up at that point and demanded that the car go to a reputable dealership to get fixed, Bellevue BMW. They quoted me $1,600. Championship balked and said they weren't going to honor their agreement and that I should pretty much just grab my ankles. A few months later, and a civil suit victory against their owner - boy was it fun to serve him with papers - Steve Spencer, who used to manage the sales at the old Classic Coaches at 80th and Aurora, where I bought an equally disastrous automobile and apparently didn't learn my lesson. To top it off, the Audi loaner Championship gave me broke down twice...simply wouldn't start on a couple of occasions and left me stranded in rotten winter weather. Championship motors is not a trustworthy place of business - they seem to get cosmetically nice-looking wholesale bargains (for a reason, they are trouble waiting to happen) and then they schlep them off as mechanically sound. I have purchased 3 cars from Championship Motors over the last 6 years and have been extremely satisfied with the cars and the service provided each time. Not only were they very patient with me and let me check out as many vehicles as I wanted, but also were not pushy at all. The owners were upfront and honest about everything, this is a used car dealership, so it is common for some cars to have past issues, which the owners check out and resolve before selling the car. During the recession, many used car dealerships in the area went out of business. Chamionship Motors stayed in business because it is a well run, fantastic dealership with friendly salesmen and honest owners! I recommend anyone to go there and at least see for themselves before passing it up because of the other reviews on this place. read more

AWFUL!!! The staff seemed great upon first impression, and made a quick sale. However, their "quality inspection" of the car failed to reveal that the power steering reservoir was not cycling fluid correctly, the metal coils were showing through a few of the tires, and last but not least... the $4,500 transmission rebuild it needs! Of course, the test drive proved flawless, but immediately after the purchase, on my 30 minute drive home, the steering was making a groaning noise, and the transmission slipped a few times. I tried calling them and was told they will help cover some of the transmission cost, but I've called back twice and no answer. I paid over $7,500 for this car, and now I have to pour more than half that amount into it to get the tranny rebuilt. So, essentially, I will owe over $11,000 for a $7,500 car. Championship Motors, I think you owe me an apology at the very least. I even inquired about trading this hunk of junk back in, and yet again...no response. Great delivery, but absolutely no follow-through. Your concept of customer service is an insult. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised, based on all the stereotypes of used car dealers, how painless and, yes, even pleasant (!) my purchase from Atticus at Championship Motors was. We bought a car here end of December, used it of course. Went on a vacation in April and when we came back, the car wouldn't start!! That's not a good thing after a ten hour flight with a toddler! BEWARE: The owners of this dealership are dishonest and sneaky. Do NOT do business with them. I was the dealership's first customer when they opened in 2004. I purchased a 2001 BMW for $41K, with the dealer's assurance it was mechanically sound. I also ran a CARFAX and the vehicle showed a clean title. There were some flags in the report but I didn't know how to interpret them. Within days of driving the car, I noticed extreme pulling. After going to several mechanics, I was informed, in writing, that the car was completely totalled and unsafe to drive. Also, that anybody in the car business should have known so. The dealer refused to accomodate me in any way, and relied on the contract I signed during arbitration to get out of any financial penalties, since the Automobile Lemon Law does not apply to used cars. I wound up spending $4K to get the car in safe condition and selling it for $21K. Lost $25K and never used the car. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER! read more

Fair warning, Stay Away! I bought a car from them a year and a half ago and now I am having to replace the ENTIRE engine. I am the second owner of the 2013 Mercedes that was supposedly well cared for. It had very low miles with what appeared to be only a few minor cosmetic problems so how a Mercedes engine with only 48k miles can have a timing chain come loose while driving down the road at 60 mph causing so much damage that the entire engine needs to be replaced is beyond me. The service department at Mercedes Benz of Lynnwood even looked at the vehicle when I brought it in for regular service and assured me everything checked out (see my review on them as well). Since owning the car I've taken meticulous care of it as it was my entry into the MB brand. Unfortunately for me the warranty ended six month prior and both Championship and MBUSA refuse to help. Needless to say I'm done with the Mercedes brand and I'll never buy from this place again. Save yourself time, money and stress and keep well clear of this place. read more

I recently purchased an Audi A3 from them. At first I was very impressed with how all smoothly it all went. I even went as far as to write them the day after I picked it up to tell them I was pleased was with the transaction. When I was looking at the car, I flat out asked the young salesperson, (whom I won't leaked his name, but he knows who he is) " ok, straight up, what, if anything, is wrong with it ?". I was given what I thought was an honest answer of " We thoroughly go through ALL of our cars to make sure they are all in perfect working order". Well, 2 days later, the problems started. Within 2 days, I could barely get the car started. I barely got it started the day I drove it in to an European specialist, who after scanning it, informed me that the battery had a bad cell and would need to be replaced. That bill was $216.00. Then a day later, the drivers side door stopped unlocking with the auto key. Again, a trip down to the specialist, who said they thought it was the electrical mechanism. They checked the fuse, it was fine. We changed the battery in the key, Nope, not that. Turns out I will have to replace the electrical mechanism at the cost of SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS. The part alone is almost $600. So basically, I was lied to, told the car was in perfect running order, only to be sold a car that needed over $1,000 worth of work. Yay. I just don't understand why car dealerships do this to people. Instead of enjoying my new car, I now regret buying it. I also get to stand out in the rain using my key to lock and unlock my doors.. on a 2009 car because I can't really afford another $700 bill right now. Thanks guys. read more

WOW. I bought a car from these guys last month. Was told by the owner "oh yeah this car will last you a long time". A week later there is a bad engine noise and hot running temperature, front suspension is going...and to top it all of the transmission is bad. I am livid at this point. Didn't have the money to buy a new car, I'm a student and just quit my job a couple months beforehand to focus on school. Should have just fixed my Honda, would have been the same price (5k). I'm still pondering on whether or not to ask them to help fix it due to their "false advertising", but according to previous reviews, it won't do much good. I took a car for inspection after asking multiple times if the car had an accident and was told it had a clear title and no accidents. The inspection quickly revealed an accident and the auto shop that inspected the car was certain the dealer knew about it (fresh paint job in front and back, new radiator, etc.). I confronted Champion Motors about it - at first they said they didn't know about it, then they changed their story and said they told me about the accident. They lied to my face, had me spend several hours and $100 on an inspection and then blew me off when they realized I'm not happy with them. They lied about not knowing although several repair shops stated any car dealer would have known from the obvious repairs. Car was unsafe to drive and Champion would not take back or repair. I just bought a 2007 Volvo S80. I got a buyers inspection in which Atticus was more than okay with. I'm 24 and this was my first car purchase and I felt like I wasn't pressured and felt good about the decision I made. After reading some of these comments, sounds like most people didn't get a buyers inspection in a USED car. Which is a fault of their own. I treated with respect and patience. Although my car checked out, I haven't had it more than a day. It's driving wonderfully and I know the work I need on it because of the buyers inspection. And ultimately came to a timely and responsible price for the car. Atticus thank you for your time. Nothings perfect, especially a used car. Do your homework. Don't blame others for your own short comings, especially when buying used 10+ year old car. I'm not sure who the naysayers did business with when they panned Championship Motors, but based on my wife's and my experience, they really missed the mark. We worked with Anna, Atticus and Steve and they were all great to work with. No hassles in getting the car we wanted to look at out for a long test drive. We were looking at a few other cars from other dealers and were never pressured by any of the Championship Motors staff to make a decision. After the initial drive, we came back a day later and got an estimate for our trade. I'd done some due diligence on what our car was worth and Atticus came up with a reasonable offer that wasn't too far off of what we were looking for. The price they were asking for their car was in the lower range of asking price so we thought a lower number for our car was reasonable. We next needed the car for several hours so we could get a thorough inspection done. No problem and no major issues uncovered in the inspection. There were a couple of small items that needed attention and Atticus was reasonable as we worked to get those resolved. We're a couple of old folks and have purchased a lot of cars and motorcycles over the years. This was one of the best teams we've worked with and we'd recommend them to others. Our acid test is whether or not we'd do business with them again and we'd definitely say, "Yes!" read more

One might think that a car dealership located in Redmond might be slightly less crooked than the ones on HWY 99 -- but don't be fooled. Do not, under any circumstances depend on anything they promise after they have your money, especially the extended warranty. The warranty is refundable during a certain period of time as long as you don't file a claim -- they tell you this to help sell it. I went for it, and then went home and researched the underwriter (Warrantech), who has a horrifying reputation. Within a week, I was back for my refund. They refused to refund the tax (I had to ask the state of Washington), and tried to charge a fee for the transaction. After two letters from a lawyer, and several sarcastic letters from their business manager (David), I finally got my money back. If I could give negative stars, I would. Championship Motors may look more reputable than your average car dealer, but they operate with the same incorrigible lack of integrity. If you do buy from them, you'd better hope you have legal benefits with your job. read more

I found a car that they were advertising on Auto Trader. I'm in the Bay Area in California, but liked the car well enough that I struck a deal with one of their sales guys (Atticus) over the phone. He forwarded the contract along with the rest of the relevant paperwork to my home in CA. I secured a cashier check for the total amount, cleared a day from my work schedule and purchased a non-refundable airline ticket to Seattle. All of the details were coordinated between myself and the sales rep. I was scheduled to fly up to get the car on a Friday, but I received an email on Tuesday stating that since they hadn't received the funds via wire transfer yet, they sold the car to another buyer. The email came from Dave Spencer. He was polite about it, but didn't give a d**n about the deal that was already struck between his sales guy and me. He also didn't care that I had secured the check, cleared my work schedule and purchased an airline ticket. Instead, he offered advice about moving quicker next time that I find a vehicle that I like. This place has no sense of business ethics. Horrible experience. Went with my daughter to check out a vehicle - knew it had some cosmetic issues and brakes needed a little work. But was told it was "mechanically fine, just needs some love." Drove from Seattle to Redmond, upon arrival we're told another girl is seriously looking at it, but it's still available.... Only to find a p.o.s. that didn't start ( now he says it needs a new starter) noisy belts and I'm sure plenty more was wrong with it. When my daughter said she has a young son - he says better forget this one, then we find out the brakes were so bad it was unsafe to drive. Finally we're told well, " we're just keeping the car for some guy that knew how to fix cars." Really? What about the other interested girl?!?! ***Best Experience Ever!!!*** (Don't look at review stars only! I mentioned I was confused by how few stars they had on here and they explained to me that those reviews are from the previous owners!) My husband and I were looking to buy an SUV and had been searching online, at other dealerships and it was so frustrating dealing with hovering car salesmen. So when my husband mentioned CM that he drives by almost every day for work, he asked if I could look into it. (Side note: Women alone + car dealership = Getting taken advantage of!...And I'm not an easy customer!) I drove into the lot and looked at a few of the cars and found the people here are THE FRIENDLIEST I've ever experienced in a dealership! Also, I appreciate its family owned and run and they offered me coffee, tea or water every time! I went in several times because I am very indecisive when it comes to a big purchase. I never felt pressured or taken advantage of to buy a car here. They were very patient with me and asked all the right questions and any concerns I had they listened too. I got to test drive several of the cars that we were interested in as well. The car we purchased with them was a 2001 Lexus RX 300 SUV that we bought in Oct 2015. Purchased my first-ever car from this dealership, which was right down the street from where I live. It flew totally under the radar in my car search, which is a huge bummer because they were phenomenal to work with! We stopped in after seeing a Ford Escape on the corner of the lot, but pulled in and the Subaru Forester I'd been eyeing at other dealers was right in the front of the lot. I took my father with me, because I'm the type of person that a car salesman drools about (can upsell me on anything if you say it right), and he's a tough negotiator (25 years in the military will do that for you). We walked around the lot, and Sonora came out to help us. As a young woman, I was excited to talk with her, as my previous experiences with male salesmen (at other dealers) has resulted in being "mansplained" to death and the salesperson talking exclusively to either my boyfriend or dad, even though I was the one looking to buy. Sonora provided excellent information on the car, history, and what we could look for in terms of features and the overall experience of owning the car. They had the Forester at an extremely competitive price, but I did want to shop around a bit before committing. We left after talking with her and negotiating the price a bit (they budged but were straightforward about needing to run a business, too), to go see what else was in the area. I was still in love with that car, and really pleased with my experience working with Sonora and her brother/manager, Atticus. We went to the Honda dealership in Bellevue to see what used cars they had, and immediately I felt intimidated and ignored. Within 5 minutes (and having been mansplained to once already) I knew I wasn't buying a car from there and wanted to return to Championship. We did end up purchasing the Forester from Sonora at Championship, and I'm extremely pleased with my experience with her, Atticus and the entire dealership. They put a tank of gas in the car for us, and were extremely thorough in getting everything taken care of so I could take the car home that night. For a first-time car buying experience, I feel very spoiled. It was seamless, and the team was great! Would highly recommend purchasing from them, and I plan on getting my next vehicle here. It is a used car dealership so the cars aren't all perfect, but for what I needed, this was absolutely the right place to go. I've had it for 48 hours now, and did end up replacing the tires on the car (it runs great) but I'll update the review if anything comes up. Hope you get a chance to stop in and see them. read more
