Had been experiencing some rough idling and eventually a check engine light on my SUV. After stopping into the nearby auto zone to run the diagnostic scanner there was an issue with a VVT solenoid. After calling around several other shops who couldn't either get me in or simply didn't answer, I decided to call Champs because of the good yelp reviews and their convenient location. Tim quickly picked up the phone and advised I could see them right away. They confirmed that was the issue and gave me a quote on it which seemed in the ballpark to what I tried pricing out online. Got it fixed and done all in the same day and my vehicle has been running smoothly ever since. Tim still checks in via call or text every once in a while to make sure my car needs are being taken care of. Tim, the worst manager, doesn't know how to manage or talk business. I had a scheduled appointment to replace a strut and a small part of the gas tank. Firstly I had to wait and I saw the auto parts delivery driver an hour later (9:30 AM) bringing a few parts for another vehicle. So then I asked Tim how much longer, he walked away out of the office then I asked again and he said he forgot to tell the delivery driver to pick up some parts. Then five hours later (1:30 PM) the driver shows up, and Tim finally asks the driver to pick up some parts for my truck and he comes back two hours later and 90 minutes later my truck was finally ready. All this could have been avoided if Tim knew how to manage and communicate. He was rude the whole time. I did ask him, do I need to reschedule, how long will it take, or why couldn't he tell the delivery driver to pick up the parts when he was there early in the morning, or ask me if I need a ride home. No-o-o he was very rude. Then to top that off he wasn't going to give me the discounts that I asked about. He double charged on the service, and gave me the worst service that I didn't have to wait all day long. He is the worst manager and communicator. I did not get the service I requested! I hate leaving a lousy review but I would not take my car into this place. I work ~12 hours a day / 6 or 7 days a week... when you add in sleep time, I have very little time to deal with things like sitting around a repair shop. I took my car in on a Saturday to have the high-pressure power steering hose replaced. I know about cars. If I had the place and time, I'd do this myself but I live in an apartment and they don't allow working on vehicles there. When I picked up my car, they've replaced my power steering pump with a rebuilt unit and charged me $100 more than what they cost from a parts store. They also replaced a couple low pressure hoses that didn't need replacement. So now I have parts I didn't need and the high-pressure hose that's still leaking like crazy. I'm adding about 2 quarts of expensive Honda power steering fluid a week. I've dealt with A. J over at Sunburst Automotive (15448 N 67th Ave, Glendale) before and he's been excellent. When I have time, I'm going to take my car over there and have it fixed right this time. This experience was a waste of time and money! read more

This business treats single women like they are morons. Once they had my vehicle in their possession, they called me with "bad news". They claimed my radiator needed replacing due to "whoever installed it had screwed bolts all the way THROUH the radiator". Anyone knows that action would cause a leak and overheating. My truck never had a radiator leak nor had it ever overheated. They had my truck to repair the a/c. Since their original quote included a $600 air compressor that I could not afford (total quote was $1200), i had purcased one from Ebay for $175 and brought it in for them to install. So they decided to call me with this bogus claim about the radiator to charge an additional $300.00. When I picked my truck up, there in the bed laid old radiator with one huge bolt screwed all the way through it . Totally dishonest practices. read more

I saw Champs next door and it was super busy but I needed help so I walked in and they got me right in and didn't charge me. I needed my headlight replaced someone recommended Champs. I called and they took me in right away, went in and they took an hour to replace it, charged me $120, $98.50 labor. I thought that was excessive but paid and left. Now my other headlight went out a friend said let me see it, took him 2 minutes to take it out and 2 more to replace it!! Now I'm really not happy! I think they see a female senior citizen and took advantage of me!! Never go back and certainly won't recommend them!!. read more

I had originally called and made a appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. When I got there the person behind the counter got a little agitated when I had mentioned the rotation again when I got there saying the appointment was just for the oil change and they did not have time for the rotation even though we spoke about it over the phone. Yet they did have time to do all of the other things that were supposedly wrong with my vehicle. When he called to tell me the oil change was done I had a few things that might need replacing but magically they had all the time in the world to do the the things i didn't ask for. read more

When I went to pick up the car I was not hit with the usual we found such and such wrong with your car also.
