I had taken in 2 Honda manual transmissions to have rebuilt. The first one they got done fairly fast, but almost no communication. Installed first transmission, drove for less than 500 miles, and all the fluid leaked out. Refilled fluid, and had what sounded like bearings noises. The second transmission was at their shop for over 3 months, and zero phone calls until I reached out to them. Returned first transmission to them due to the noise, and they blame me for breaking the main shaft gear due to bad driving habits. They will not repair the transmission and still took my almost $1700. The second transmission was almost $2300, so I spent around $4000 on two transmissions, and can only use one. That whole shop has very bad customer service and I would not recommend doing business with them ever read more

Took a vehicle in for transmission leak and to fix 4x4. Always had to call to check in the would never let you know what's going on after they said they would. I ended up having to bring my vehicle back 3 times the first the 4x4 still didn't work after they said they fixed it. Then went back again because it was still leaking. The third time again said the 4x4 was working and it wouldn't engage in low or high 4x4 after replacing multiple things they said they were broke and it still didn't work. They waste your time and try to get your money out of you they don't take there time and see what a simple issue could be they point directly to the part that's the most money. Called on a Friday for a Multi point inspection but it was too close to closing. I dropped the truck off on the following Saturday but they didn't have a transmission tech to complete the inspection so I left the car there over Sunday, which they are closed, but I was told that it takes less than an hour to complete and that the truck would be ready no later than 09:00 Monday. I told them the main issue was a problem with the 4x4 system, possibly the transfer case, but would like to know of anything else that might be found etc. Come Monday I called in around 11:30 having not received a call yet. I told them it was suppose to have been done this morning, reiterating the issue and that I need the truck by tomorrow. They told me 'ok we'll get on it and give you a call as soon as it is ready.' Awesome. At 16:30 I decided to go to the shop and get my truck since I still had not received a call and they would be closing soon. When picking it up I was told the inspection had been completed and that they apologize for not notifying me. I waited for the tech to come back so he could let me know what needs immediate attention vs. attention soonish. I was told that there was an issue with the transfer case and it was going to be somewhere between $1200 and $2200 to tell me the specifics. He continued informing me they could not get the truck out of four wheel drive so they were unable to perform the whole inspection... The only new information was the $1200-2200 inspection cost for the transfer case and that nothing else from the inspection list was completed. This past Thursday I was sizing the drain plug to flush the old oil and fill the transfer case with new oil. When I crawled under the truck I noticed an oil slick and oil dripping from the transfer case. Something this vehicle has never done. It was obvious why it was leaking. The tech did not tighten the drain plug to the transfer case. Luckily I found this before I was completely out of oil, I had about one of two quarts left in the transfer case. I wasn't planning on writing this until I found a mistake that could have caused significant damage to my vehicle. Highly do NOT recommend. Transmission was replaced in my Nissan and after a couple weeks my car started pouring out transmission fluid on the way home from work. I called on my way in to let them know the issue and wasn't sure if my car was going to make it (thought I was going to have to have it towed) the female working the front desk had nothing but an attitude the the whole time I was getting serviced. Then they tried to charge me for the work which was under warranty, refusing to give me my car back unless I paid 350. (There was a leak that was caused by a broken part being put onto my car. I had another mechanic look at it) I told them to take out the part that was costing me 350 because I found it for $20 and had another mechanic willing to do the work. Danny then pulled up in his truck almost hitting my brother and then proceeded to tell my brother to go to the side of his building where there's no cameras because of the way my brother talked to his receptionist after receiving poor service. (I have a video of the interaction) I had to call the police twice to then finally retrieve my car paying 150 instead of 350 just because I wanted it to be over with. I will have no problem driving 30+ minutes to go elsewhere. Wasn't surprised when I heard from 2 other mechanics that they're constantly fixing the poor work done here and Danny has had multiple customers sue him. **the rest of the bill I owed was paid in cash. I have a receipt, also a video of him threatening my 19 year old brother & the case number from the Glendale PD** Not sure what part I would be lying about but sorry Danny receipts and videos don't lie bud. read more

This isn't the closest mechanic to my house. Hell this isn't even the closest Aamco to my house. But this is the Aamco that will be getting my business from now on. My oldest daughter was about to take her road test. A/C in her car went out. I'd heard that Aamco did free A/C diagnostics, and we were close to this one, so we stopped by. I expected a long wait, or to have to make an appointment and come back. They looked at it right away. They showed me where they saw the issue. Told me they needed to get parts, and they'd call me with a quote. Got the call, dropped the car off the next afternoon. Picked it up early the following morning, with ice cold A/C blowing. But that's not even the best part (BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!). Today was my daughter's road test. And her driver's side window wouldn't roll down. That had never happened before. They told her she couldn't take the test if the window didn't roll down. I tried do do what I could (which wasn't much). We happened to be pretty close to the Aamco, so I figured what the heck... drove over real quick. Asked if they might be able to do me a favor and look at it. Popped the door panel off, bypassed the switch, and got the window rolled down. No charge. Told us to come back after the road test and he'd get it back up. I told him that wasn't necessary, but he insisted... especially because the forecast calls for some rain over the next day or two. So she did the test (and passed!), and we headed back. Once again, popped the door panel off, bypassed the switch, and rolled the window up. Once again, no charge. Said he was happy to help, and congratulated my daughter on passing the test. Who even does that anymore? Who gives away services for free just to be nice? Not nearly enough people/businesses do. It wasn't even the fact that they didn't charge us. It was them understanding that we were in a bind (road tests are by appointment), and making the effort to help out. There were other cars up on the lifts. They had other things to do. But they understood that we needed some help, and time was a factor. I can't express my gratitude enough. Today was a big day for my daughter. And it ended well. But it could have ended very differently than it did. The biggest reason that it did not go badly? The folks at this Aamco. Thanks again. See you soon. read more

I cant say enough about these guys. I had taken my Jaguar to them because the transmission was off. Needless to say it needed replaced. I had a full warranty on my vehicle however, the warranty did not cover the whole portion of the bill but Danny and his team worked with me to get the price down from the original quote. This happened the second week of November, 2020. I'd been noticing an intermittent grinding noise coming from the front driver's side of my car for a little while and had mentioned it to Rich at Big-O tires where I take my car for oil changes. I said it sounds like a bearing but I had just replaced those so I kind of assumed it would have to be the drive axle's cv joint but I had also replaced them less than 50k miles ago. He said he's check it out but when I came to pick it up he told me they couldn't find anything wrong. He told me that both wheel bearings were good and the axle checked out OK too. I picked it up but before I even got all the way home it started grinding again so I turned around and headed back to Big-O. One of the techs went for a ride with me and he could hear it too so when we got back to the shop he ran it up the lift to check it out. A few minutes later Rich came into the waiting area and told me he wanted to show me something and we walked back to the service area. He told me that they found the source of the problem and that it wasn't the axle at all, but the bearing that holds the axle in place on the transmission. He gave the axle a shake and even someone like me with little to no mechanical skill could see the bearing in the side of the transmission wiggle. Rich told me that it would require opening up the transmission which was something they didn't do, but they said Danny across the street was where they referred transmissions so I took it over there. Sarah was working the desk & I told her that Rich had sent me over after showing me the problem, which I explained to her. She said she'd have her tech check it out and call me when she knew more. I was dreading her call knowing that any work done inside a sealed transmission was going to be expensive. She called me the next morning and I cringed in anticipation of the bad news, but instead she told me that it was the axle and that it would be just over $400 to replace it. Because of what Rich at Big-O had shown me I asked if she were sure and she assured me her builder was certain. Finding out that instead of being a several thousand $ repair bill, it would be less than $500 I immediately said "fix it". The next day I picked it up but again I didn't make it home before it started making the same grinding noise so I headed back to AAMCO. Their tech went on a short ride-along that basically went just out of the parking lot and back because the noise started immediately again. He said it sounded like a bearing so I left it with them to investigate again. The next morning Sarah called and said that it was the bearing inside the transmission and that the best price she could find was for a used transmission and that with labor the total would come to at least $4000 and could possibly be even more if the replacement needed programming. A $4000 minimum repair bill for a car that's only worth $3000 dollars just isn't financially smart so I declined. I don't know if it was just an honest mistake or if they saw that their only opportunity to make any money was to get me to agree to an unnecessary and ineffective procedure. The tech should have figured out the problem before I spent over $400 especially when I told them in advance that it wasn't the axle. The bottom line is that not only did I have to spend money on a new car but I'm out $400 on top of that. Either way, I did not have a good experience with Danny's AAMCO transmission shop. You're taking a chance if you do business with them. read more

BEWARE! If you have a car or truck with any power, stay far away from these guys! After completely overcharging me for a transmission rebuild, they didn't even bother to replace the oil soaked and cracked transmission mounts... talk about half-assed work! But then it got even better... upon picking up my classic truck with less than 10k miles on a performance engine, I had to ask them to wipe down the multiple greasy hand prints all over my paint... while doing the walk around to see if there were any more, I found that my tires has been roasted! I took a picture of the truck the day I had it towed into their shop... yep... they were perfect when it was towed in and now the back tires are roasted. You can bet I took pictures and thank goodness I did, because two days later my engine blew up! Yep, has to get it towed, tore the engine down and found the pistons had shattered from excessive heat! I spend the next 6 weeks calling the shop and even stopping by to talk to the manager, only to be told he wasn't available and he would all me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. Dustin, the manager even blew off 2 appointments I made to discuss the matter with him. After I finally drove all the way out to the Laveen location to find him, upon presenting him with all of the date and time stamped pictures proving that his shop hot rodded my truck, roasted the tires and blew up my engine, his response was to start yelling and cussing at me. I politely told him that I would be seeing him in court. TIME STAMPED PICTURES AND PHONE RECORDS DON'T LIE. Save yourself the trouble and 5k in engine and tire replacement along with the pain of having to go to court for them to do the right thing and take responsibility for their actions. Definitely going to be a fun day in court though! Hopefully no one else will have to go through this. read more

My wife and I had driven our 2001 Buick Park Avenue from Seattle to Phoenix in February 2016. After arriving there I noticed that the car was heating up and was losing some power on long uphill grades. Being an ex-mechanic I suspected the usual possibilities. But with no tools or garage I decided to take it in to a local shop. However, the shop my host recommended simply wanted to replace the engine, which I knew it did not need at that time. So I did a web search and heard some good things about Danny Samra who owns the AAMCO garage on 6033 W Bell Rd in Glendale. I found out that they do everything, not just transmissions. Danny's crew did a great job of assessment, and the compression test revealed a very bad spark plug and low compression (but passable) in that same cylinder. While the other shop wanted to replace the engine, Danny just replaced 1 spark plug and it was fine again (just a slight miss, but only at idle). It's gone another 2000 miles since then and is still running fine. Danny runs his shop with old school values. You know, where the customer's needs really do come first. And the crew that works for him is of that same mindset. I would highly recommend him, not only for the way he treated us, but for the way I watched him treat every customer that came to him for help. I put a transmission in my truck 30 thousand miles ago and when I put it in Danny said "oh this thing is Kevlar you will never have any problems with it ever again. However if you would like to buy a warranty just in case. Your transmission will be covered no matter what you do. You can neutral drop blow your tranny and this thing will be covered". I called the front desk lady and she was a complete bitch but I brought the truck back in. They told me that the warranty was void for some stupid shit reason. They then told me oh if you get your transmission worked on again with us we will give you a discount." So I said how much of a discount? They told me that they would take off the 600 dollar removal fee and see what else they can do from there. I then called another transmission company told him everything Danny "did" to my transmission and he said dude you got scammed hard core. The people here are a bunch of lying crooks.
