DO NOT file taxes or an LLC with Chandler Knowles. You will be wasting your money, In addition, if you have more than a 10 minute drive to their office, do not waste your time. A 40-minute trip to deliver documents cost me a 1 hour fee. Despite the owner being "too busy" to introduce herself, she charged me for "consultation" services. My consultation consisted of sitting alone in a conference room, introducing myself to her administrator, and handing over my files. Ruthless and no concern for you or your company. read more

I would not recommend this firm. The first year they did my return, they made a mistake and told me it was my responsibility to make sure the tax return is accurate when I got a notice from the IRS which has never happened to me in my adult life. Chandler did amend the return at no charge but advised me it was my responsibility to make sure the entire return is correct. I'm not a CPA which is why I paid them for their expertise. I chalked it up to a one time mistake, but the next year I went over the return page by page, line by line, and found multiple mistakes (since it's my responsibility according to them so I spent hour and hours reviewing every line item). Chandler had to modify the return at least 3 times and make many corrections before it could be submitted to the IRS. These were mistakes I found (not them). What is the point of hiring and paying a CPA to file my tax return if I need to learn all the tax laws to find their mistakes. I had to proofread all their work but their fee was never discounted for the countless hours I had to spent proofing the return and bringing errors to their attention. I even had to bring to their attention a typo transposing numbers, a mathematical error, as well as a major error whereas they reflected tax free funds as taxable funds. Needless to say I decided to find a new CPA going forward as I had no confidence in their ability to prepare my return accurately. Fortunately, I found a highly competent CPA that I am working with now and have been for several years. My new CPA even went back and found more mistakes (that I didn't know about as I'm not a CPA). I had to pay my new CPA to amend mistakes from their original work. I didn't even ask Chandler to amend the old return to fix their mistakes as did not want to have any further relationship with them as trust was gone and I moved on to another CPA who I paid to amend the return previously filed by Chandler. The people at Chandler are very nice people, but I just do not have confidence of the accuracy of my returns they prepared so I found a new CPA. I shouldn't have to have CPA knowledge to hire a CPA to complete my return. I provide my CPA with proper documentation and while I still review the return before it is submitted, I expect my CPA to prepare an accurate return. I do hope that things have changed for them as this was several years ago and hope they are doing a more thorough review of their work. I wish them the best of luck. I didn't even want to write this review as they were nice people but a friend of mine said it would be wrong not to write the review. In the end, I do hope these were just training issues that have since been resolved so this does not happen to anyone else. read more

My experience with this firm, and Ms. Chandler in particular, was disappointing to say the least. They had a very cookie-cutter style of handling things and were very poor communicators. I had engaged them to do both my personal taxes and business taxes, but without any consultation from me decided to "merge" all my taxes into one personal tax return. Fortunately they only cost me $400 for this. Now, however, as I go to file my 2018 taxes, I find out that the 2017 taxes were (understandably) filed incorrectly. They will have to be re-done. When approached about the mis-filed 2017 return and the need to correct it, they wanted a retainer of $500 so they could charge me $275 per hour- more than it cost to do the taxes in the first place. Needless to say, I will be looking for a more competent and professional firm from this point forward. read more

Called this place & spoke to Rochelle before my husband & I got married for advise on a preisting tax issue. The completely used a scare tactic telling me that I needed to get a living trust in place to protect my assets & several other unnecessary steps. She quoted me an astronomical amount of money that she estimated was owed in taxes & had me in tears 3 weeks before my wedding. I kept explaining to her that we were not trying to avoid the taxes we just wanted to pay them. We ended up owing about $7k in taxes & paid a reputable tax professional less than $500 rather than paying her & her tax attorney an estimated $4k just for their "services". Even listening to her voicemail her goal was to install fear instead of choosing a calming tone & calming words that said I am here to help. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

I cannot recommend this place. I went there today to interview them to do my taxes. Upon arrival we were told to watch a video. The 30 minute long video featured an actress explaining the different tax entities. I already have my tax entity (LLC filed as an S Corp), so after 8 minutes of the video I asked the woman at the front desk if we needed to see this video. She went and got Rochelle Chandler. Rochelle Chandler came into the meeting room and was visibly annoyed with us. I smiled and mentioned we already had our tax entity and were just wanting to interview them to see if their services matched our needs. She was extremely rude, condescending, and glared at us the entire time. So we cut our meeting short and said thank you and left. Because this is how they treated a potential client it is clear that their services are unable to meet our needs. read more
