IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A -10 STAR, I WOULD! This place, by far, is one of the worst dog grooming businesses in East Houston. The level of incompetence displayed by Arturo is mind-boggling. The place was recommended, took dog, requested that dog keep his ears & tail fur, with a teddy bear face. After dropping him off at 10am, by 4pm- still no call. A call was placed to check on status, they said he would be ready in 10mins. Upon arriving there to get him, he was skinned beyond recognition. Not only did they cut his tail, but they also cut his ears! When asked why didn't they call to see if it were ok, they stated he was matter & did what was best for the dog & "it's only hair & it will grow back." Unprofessional & unethical! I took my 2 small dogs to get groomed, and overall I'm just not satisfied. There's no problem with their haircuts, they look super cute and the cut looks good, but there's just something about my dogs that just aren't sitting well with me. At first, everything seemed all well, but it wasn't until I got home that I saw my dog had a knick her snout. Which, I was able to kind of let go because I know sometimes they can get a little skittish with the clippers being by their face and jerk away. Until today, a day after they got groomed, my other dog has started dragging her bottom on the floor and just right now has had trouble using the bathroom. I know some groomers will express a dogs anal glands, but I wasn't made aware that this groomer does that, until I had to come to yelp and see that they do all of that during the grooming. My dog has been scooting her bum on the floor, trying to lick/bite around her area, and has discomfort with her bowel movements; all of which she has never done before, and I am just left to believe that her glands have been expressed incorrectly. Which is very BAD for a groomer to make such mistake. This is just a warning to everyone: they do very good cuts, but MAKE SURE TO ASK THAT THEY DO NOT EXPRESS YOUR DOGS GLANDS BECAUSE THEY CAN MESS UP YOUR DOG. Given this situation, I am never bring my dogs here again. I loved the haircuts, but this has just left an uneasy feeling in my chest. I feel they should at least make their customers aware of all that they offer, because if I knew all that they did when I took them in, I would've asked them not to express their glands. read more

Upon arriving at the establishment there was a long line to wait to drop off my Yorkie & Poodle, which was not a big deal and once inside I was greeted very professionally except there was a bit of a language barrier but we worked through that as well. I never received a call they were finished with my fur babies so at 3:00 I called and was told they were ready. My instructions were to cut the fur babies short and leave a short teddy bear face on both. There is clipper indentions on my Yorkie and some long patches where hair was missed, and I don't think his head was cut at all. They smelled great and visibly had been bathed well but maybe the person operating the clippers needs more training! I won't use them again. read more

Okay, so I took both Chaz and Duke to Chaneke's, on Sheldon Rd, for the first time. Aside from the service being out of this world, they managed to deal with two very boisterous fur babies and give them totally handsome haircuts with the works! The prices were more than reasonable, and I left feeling like I'd just met members of my own family. Reasonable price! I have a Goldendoodle who was full of mats and was in need of a super short cut. I am very particular when it comes to trying new places. I took my dog Mocha here and they did a fair job. I have a complaint. They shaved him too close and they forgot to clip his nails. I paid for full service. I won't have to have his hair cut for awhile, but I had to cut his nails when I got home. read more
