The only thing good about this is the location. It's close to the airport. I found this place after seeing an ad online for a free day of boarding for new customers. Long story short due to the front desk staffs miscommunication. I never got it. I normally will give a place more than the benefit of the doubt. But I definitely had 3 bad experiences here. I pretty much used them as a last resort. And once I cut my trip short to return to get my dog. On the last pickup I got my dog back and he had dried up poop on his bottom and legs. This never even happened anywhere. So what they did to him I have no idea. I guess they never let him out of the cage? The people they have here just come in and that's it. I'm really disappointed with the way this place handled my dog's stay. When I picked him up, he had a large infected rash, and no one had informed me about it. I called and emailed and left a voice mail,no response. The only time they got back to me was after I left a negative review in their survey. They promised to call me and check the cameras, but it's been over 3 weeks and I've heard nothing since. I understand that things can happen with pets, but the complete lack of communication and follow-up is unacceptable. If I'm going to pay full price for boarding, I expect my dog to be properly cared for and, at the very least, to be informed when something goes wrong. I've used Pet Paradise in multiple cities and decided to try this location after moving to Houston. However, I've had recurring issues--feeding mistakes, lost toys, and not receiving the correct amount of leftover food, which is expensive. During my dog's last stay, I provided clear feeding instructions, emphasizing that he had already eaten and didn't need food until the next day. They ignored this, ran out of food, and I was out of town, unable to provide more. Upset, I spoke to a manager who assured me that only managers would handle his feeding moving forward. Despite this, during his most recent stay while I was recovering from surgery, they again fed him incorrectly. I received a call at 6 PM asking what to do because he wasn't eating--after I had explicitly stated multiple times that he didn't need food that day. Once food is placed down, they can't take it back, meaning they wasted it. Since I only pack enough for his stay, this puts him at risk of running out. It's frustrating that they don't communicate or follow simple instructions--how can I trust them with his overall care? Emma, a front-of-house manager, listened to my frustrations and updated my file again to ensure only managers feed him. She also provided her personal number for updates and added the Forever Connect feature, which offers photos and daily reports. While I appreciate her efforts, it still doesn't give me confidence that instructions will be followed. She also helped resolve an issue with my profile and points system, which I'm grateful for. Without her, I would have left a 1-star review. When picking up my dog, I mentioned I had surgery and needed him to stay calm. As I instructed him to sit before greeting him, a staff member dismissively told me, "Oh, just pet him--he just wants love." Of course, I want to love on my dog, but he's trained to sit first, and I had stitches to protect. The comment felt unnecessary. Also, I noticed that while there's usually one person at the front desk, when I arrived to pick him up after expressing my concerns, suddenly six people were there, making me feel like they were waiting to see the "problem client." I have upcoming trips and am hesitant to use this location again. I don't want another call about my dog not eating due to them disregarding instructions. We have been a customer at Pet Paradise for a while now, but usually at the JFK location as Hobby did not have a groomer for a while! This location recently got a new dog groomer, Jessica, so we switched the Hobby location as they are much closer and gave them a try. I am happy to say that Jessica did a fantastic job with our miniature schnauzer, Franklin, and we are very satisfied! She was able to work on him in a timely manner, and made sure to come and give us a few notes about his visit afterwards. Additionally, the support staff in the office were exceptional as well! Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I even needed to update Franklin's vaccination records, and all I had to do was send them a copy and they took care of the rest for me! This location offers exceptional service at an affordable price. Franklin and I will be happy to return for any of our grooming needs! read more

I really want to like this place... BUT... I don't get good vibes and my gut is telling me to try somewhere else. They staff is nice but they don't seem to be very transparent or accountable. First... For our dogs "meet and greet", I watched the webcam nearly the entire time and I never saw him out of the private run. When I asked "did he get a chance to play in the yard?"... they said "he should have" but didn't give me a confident answer. His report card seemed generic and didn't sound like his typical personality. Second... For his first boarding experience, I payed extra so that he could have significantly more play-time than baseline. Mind you, I never saw him out when I peeked in from time to time. Okay, sure, maybe I just didn't catch it. However, it rained all day on one of the days he was supposed to get 6x play times. When I picked him up, I politely asked if he got all x6 play times... they said "he should have or they would have taken it off the bill". I said okay. The girl gave us the total price for his stay... $260+. As I pulled out my card, the girl called someone else over to remove something from the bill. She then gave us a price $20 less (the cost of the extra play times). She didn't apologize or even acknowledge anything. I appreciate that they took the charge off... but, there just doesn't seem to be any way of actually documenting or confirming if and when play times are given. Not to mention, there are a ton of dogs there... each with different # of play times and with stipulations on whether than can play with other dogs or need 1-on-1... based on the webcams, it doesn't seem possible that ALL of the dogs got their play times considering the amount of time I observed with NO ONE in the yard. THIRD... I asked if the turf ever gets too hot or if they have a way of cooling it down. They basically blew me off and said it isn't an issue. Well my dog had red paws the day we picked him up which has since turned into a full blister on one pad only days later. Again... I really want to like this place. I love the webcams, convenient locations, pool, and indoor/outdoor runs. I just get a really shady and disorganized gut feeling. Pretty bummed... Photos show progression of blister. read more

I have NEVER been to a grooming/boarding business that has such TERRIBLE front desk staff. I was told when booking to drop my babies off at 6am and bring proper vaccination records, when I get to Pet Paradise the office was closed and there were other cars waiting in line who I assumed also didn't know they opened at 6:30, my partner and I waited for them to open, once they did we made it inside with our babies. The front desk staff was no where near personable when we walked in no hello or good morning granted it was early, the young lady who was supposed to "help" started to check us in, we show her the vaccination records we have and she states we do not have two others she needs, at that point instead of telling us we can't bring the dogs today she lets us stand there for another 5-10min not saying she should would be able to help or otherwise but instead still acting like she can check us in, when after that time period of just standing around and her staring at us like she has no clue how her job works, I ask are we even gonna be able to leave them if we don't have the records you need she said No they can't stay, when I ask why she didn't say that initially when she knew we didn't have the records, all she did was shrug and go I don't know, with an insincere I'm sorry. This place was extremely unprofessional with how they handled the matter and for this to be my FIRST experience I would never come back! read more

My puppy came home crying. After watching the puppy cameras all day, I want to say she was only in the outside play area for about 30mins.

I was so disappointed in this place. I went based off reviews and how great the place looked but I was so wrong to try them out. Bailey (my fur baby) went in 100% healthy and in great condition. I can say that confidently because she was at the doctors 2 days prior. In the middle of her service I got a frantic call from the groomer asking if she went in with a swollen eye. I obviously was scared and worried because she hadn't and his tone of voice didn't help. He stated she needed to go to the vet IMMEDIATELY! On my way to get her I got another call (not by the groomer) saying, "Oh it went down but I mean if it was my dog...I'd take her to the vet."! My mind was all over the place with what they were telling me. I get my baby and she's half shaved and has a busted eye!!! I spent hours in the vet (since I was a walk in on a Saturday) and they stated that from what they see and her physical two days prior, that it was trauma caused to her face. That she was hit so hard in the eye that a blood vessel popped and caused bleeding, bruising, and a lot of swelling. She was placed in a cone and put on medication. I then went back with Bailey to show them the extent of her injury and to tell them what I was informed by her doctor. The assistant manager quickly started making excuses for the groomer! Keep in mind, I never accused him of anything because anything could have happened to her there. She then told me that they didn't even have her long enough for something to happen to her. That I could have brought her in that way!!! That she can't doing anything unless I provide proof or get something from the vet that's proof enough that they harmed her. This is a disgusting place and they are not to be trusted!!! I was filled with rage and couldn't stop crying. I feel so horrible that I placed Bailey in harms way with them. I don't even know where to start. After looking at the cameras and seeing how she was doing, I noticed that she has not been eating it was very concerning , so I called pet Paradise to ask if she has been eating. Pet paradise alerted me after two days that my dog has yet to eat anything I've told them that I was very concerned about this due to the fact that prior to dropping her off she really didn't eat pet Paradise told me that they would have everything under control and they asked me different things that they could do to help her eat. I told them that sitting in the room with her and just being with her she will eat. After looking at the cameras many times all they did was put the food bowl into the room and walk away. They also told me that since she was in the VIP suit, she would barely be in that room because she would be outside playing, but every time I did check she was always in the room. After expressing my concerns about her, not eating many times, they finally decided to say that they would put peanut butter in her bowl to see if she would start eating her food them, but one's picking her up. It turns out that they never did. When I looked at the cameras, another time, I seen my dog struggling to get a blanket off of her head, because they "tucked her in" because she fell asleep eating, but that was shocking to me because they told me that she never ate her stay at pet paradise, except for the cookies that I provided. I had to call them to let them know to take the blanket off her head because she couldn't get it off herself. Once arriving back into Houston, my flight got delayed almost an hour and a half. I called pet paradise at around 6:40 PM to let them know that my flight got delayed and if it was all right to pick up my dog a little after seven the assistant manager on the phone told me no that she will not be staying after 7 o'clock at night and that I would have to pick up my dog tomorrow. I explained to her that unfortunately I live three hours away from Houston and with me and my husband working that was not feasible since he was on 24 hour shift and I had to teach kiddos in the morning. She explained to me that unfortunately there is nothing that I could do and she will not be staying any later than 7 o'clock at night. I then explained to her that I will be picking my dog up tonight because she hasn't eaten in over four days and I am very concerned. I paid for the forever photo package and it turned out that they really didn't do that that I only got photos two out of the four days as well as the report cards I only got two out of the four days. I wanted to know the reason why on the phone and the assistant manager told me to have a nice day and hung up on me. My husband called back explaining to her that he has a 24 hour shift and that picking up my dog would not be feasible for the following day since nobody would be able to pick her up. The lady on the phone said that now she would be there until 9 o'clock tonight so we would have to pick up the dog before 9 o'clock. The assistant manager Brittany called me back and told me that I will need to pay for an additional day of boarding since I will be arriving 27 minutes after they closed, I told her that that is all right because all I want it was my dog. The assistant manager called my husband back and expressed to him that if we are not there by 7:15 PM that we will not be able to pick up the dog, he expressed that he just got off the phone with her and said that we can pick up any time before 9 PM. She hesitated on the phone and said OK and hung up. She then called me back on my cell phone and explained to me that a note will be going on my account because this was unacceptable and for further references at any pet Paradise that they would know that I picked up my dog 27 minutes after they closed. I explained that was totally fine because I just wanted my dog like I have been telling her when she was calling me and refusing to let me pick up my dog 27 minutes after they closed, I even told them that I would pay them whatever they want it so I could just pick up my dog. The lady hung up the phone with me, she called my husband back on his cell phone and explain to him that he will not be charged a extra day of boarding he would just be charged a small fee, but the assistant manager told me that I would have to pay another day of boarding which didn't make sense. I walked into pet paradise to pick up my dog and some girl behind the desk, looked at me with attitude, and told me that I could've brought in my dog somewhere else. read more

On last Monday I spoke with the manager Samantha at Pet Paradise she had a disagreement with my son Earl Hammonds about our pet Mazi and decided that he no longer could attend Pet Paradise day camp. My dog had been going there for over a year and 9 months. And we have never had any incidents to occur such as this. My son was accused of not wanting to pay for any fees on my pet account. But as the other workers are aware of I am the one who pays his weekly bills not my son. I am a 55 year old disabled woman who needed pet paradise while my son was at work. Samantha never gave us a fair chance or even allowed us to speak to corporate so they could hear our side of the story No one ever contacted me or my son. We could not be happier with the care and love given by the amazing staff at Pet Paradise Hobby. We are new to the puppy day care world and have been so impressed with how they have treated our GSD. When we came in originally for our "get aquatinted day" we were given a tour of the facility and were very happy with what we saw. I also must say that I was very pleased with how it smells within the facility. It is very clean and fresh. I love how they have cameras that you can log into and view your puppy at play and can even sometimes see them in their enlarged kennels depending on where they are placed. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about our pup. When you go into to pick up at the end of the day the staff gives you a run down of how things went during the day... such as "she was a very good girl" or "she played well with the other dogs" or even the not so good stuff like "she did some "finger painting" but it is okay, because that happens from time to time." We feel so comfortable with Pet Paradise that we will be boarding our sweet GSD when we take a short trip in the future. This has been a great place in the past for my dog. Unfortunately, the customer service is lacking. When calling to check on your pet, you will have 15-20 minute hold times. Then another person answers the call because they have forgotten you are holding. Start all over, on hold again and 5 minutes later the employee states "he's doing fine" unbelievable! This place is so costly and that is their type of "reporting". How about keeping a daily status report and email the customer/pet owner with the status everyday. This would prevent the call all together and the long hold times and lack of customer service. read more

Also the price for a bath and haircut was $70! HIGHLY recommended if you are looking for a "second home" where your pet will be kept safe and treated like their own. My Samoyed LOVES staying here (he's an escape artist and the staff was well aware and ensured his kennel was covered)! This is actually the second pet boarding place that I have tried and I could tell that after I picked up my dog from here, he was very well taken care of. Friendly staff on site and over the phone, I even received a small report card regarding his care during his stay. My dog did NOT have all of his vaccines, and had an early 6 am flight the next day. Pet Paradise does offer services to take your dog to a vet to get the necessary vaccines to board in their facility (with a transportation fee of course) and that made it convenient for us! They are reasonably price as for other places, it can get pricey and still need to add play time and best part is that they are veteran/military friendly and offer an additional discount. read more

My puppers absolutely love it here! They come for boarding and day camp a few times per year and bunk together in one of the indoor/outdoor climate controlled rooms. They get to play with each other and meet new friends during playtimes in the yard. I was actually very pleasantly surprised by this place. I had heard great things from my neighbor who uses the boarding service but, when it comes to my dog, it's hard to take anybody's word for it. I was happy to find that they offer a "Get Acquainted" day care session, free of charge. I took my little man in, did a quick tour of the area, left them with his food and some clear warnings on behavior. By the time I came to pick him up, they had already created a personality file for him noting all his weird quirks. It was reassuring to hear that they actually paid attention to his behavior and made note of it to better accommodate him in the future. Overall, I am still nervous to leave my fur baby overnight but, I feel ok in trusting that he'll be well cared for at Pet Paradise. read more

On my last trip, I booked a stay-cation for my pups at Pet Paradise, thanks to a handy Groupon deal. I checked the pups in earlier in the day before my flight, and the staff were very friendly. They took the time to explain all of their policies and since I had already made copies of all the info they needed (slightly OCD trip planner here!), we were set to go pretty quickly. If you board your pups here, they do need copies of their shot records and their food for the length of the stay. I think they do provide food if necessary, but if you love your pet you won't change their food while on vacation! If so you will have a sick puppy upon return. The girl at the desk came around to meet my girls, prior to showing them to their kennel. I have one semisweet dog and one that nips on fingers for a living, so needless to say I was a little nervous about how they would react to a new stranger. Luckily with my help, there were no biting incidents and she escorted my pups to the back. I didn't go back with them, but watching my little one look back through the door window as she walked down the corridor was heart wrenching. It was like one of those Humane society commercials, except Izzy's overweight and well groomed. On return from my trip, Pet Paradise did have someone there so I could pick my pups up around midnight (with advanced notice of course). I was so delirious from travel, that when they told me my total I just paid it so I could get on my way home. It wasn't until the next day I realized that they had overcharged me. They didn't apply my Groupon and I was charged over $100 more. I immediately called/emailed them to notify them of the issue. I was told it would be faster to have their corporate office send me a check, then issue a return to my card. Say, what? So needless to say, I had to wait nearly a month to get my refund check in the mail. Pet Paradise is convenient if you travel a lot, but their prices are steep and the play times for your pets are limited. The only plus I got was the free parking with PreFlight, since I was a first time customer (ask for this when you check your dogs in). Luckily, my dogs were fine and there were no issues with their care...if so they wouldn't have gotten a star at all. read more

If you know my dog, you know she is a handful and a half. The sweetest animal in the world, but not one that most people want to deal with, as her energy boarders that of a hyena/kangaroo/road runner combo. With all that pent-up energy and my crazy work schedule, I'm always on the lookout for a good dog daycare to bring her into once or twice a week. The issues I always encounter are the same: cost and hours. Daycare either breaks the bank or expects me to pick up my dog by 4:30 or be charged a gazillion extra dollars. Enter Pet Paradise. Now, I can't review Pet Paradise on their boarding situation, mainly because the price is far out of my league. However, for $20 a day, I'm more than happy to bring my dog here for daycare once a week...and boy does she love it! First entering Pet Paradise, it's hard not to notice the ridiculous, bone-shaped, in-ground pool smack in the middle of the play yards. This alone is enough to send my dog into cahoots. But what I like most about Pet Paradise is that while dogs are not out in the play yard, they are in massively large runs that overlook the play yard. This keeps my pup occupied even when it isn't her turn to swim. The webcam on the website is great fun to watch the pups swim in the pool...but it also showcases how little the pups are actually out in the yard/pool. And this is definitely a downer of Pet Paradise: dogs aren't out and playing all day long... While it would be great if there was some frequent pet punch card that could justify my bringing the pup more often (every 10th visit free??), I will still bring my dog once a week to Pet Paradise, if only for the peace and quiet it gives me as my dog snores the remainder of the night away. Three stars for decent prices, good locale, and friendly people...a punch card would bring it to a four and some flexibility on boarding and more time actually playing would make Pet Paradise a straight five in my book! read more

We have been leaving our dog at Pet Paradise when going out of town for about a year now. We have been to both the IAH location and the Hobby location. Both locations are very convenient if you are leaving out of the airports. They will open early, or stay late upon request to accomodate you before or after your flight. My dog is always clean when I pick up him. They also provide a report card of his activity throughout his stay. I enjoy reading this, and the employees comments usually fit my dog to a tee, letting me know that they are actually paying attention to him while he is there. My only recommendation is do not get your dogs nails cut here! I did it one time for convenience and regeret it. I requested they cut his nails when I dropped him off (they ask if you want any additional services). I then called again to ensure that his nails would be cut when I picked him up. When I arrived they were not cut, and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes while they cut his nails. She then brought him out and said that they were only able to do one foot, and he has ingrown nails and should be taken to the vet. I took him to PetSmart on the way home, and they were able to trim his nails in 5 minutes, with no complaints of ingrown nails. A great place to leave your pup when going out of town, just think twice about getting their nails cut! read more

We are very excited to find this site so close to our home. Our dogs seem to love it so far and are ready to leave us and love on all the staff. The staff seem to genuinely love dogs and that makes me feel at ease. I also appreciate the one on one time with our dogs especially since one of them has really bad anxiety. As a first timer using Pet Paradise we were very pleased with the outcome. Not only were we able to drop our girls off at 4am to accommodate our holiday flight, but they were willing to go the extra mile to verify our baby's vaccinations. Things were made very simple for us and we felt comfortable trusting them with our littles. In addition to already competitive prices, they also offer a generous military discount! My dogs stayed at Pet Paradise for a few days while we were away for Thanksgiving. They were well-taken care of and looked great when I picked them up. The Pet Paradise staff was very friendly and seemed attentive to their furry guests. I also enjoyed receiving pictures daily and getting updates on how they were doing. Just started taking my dog to the Hobby location when I moved to Houston a few months ago. We moved from Atlanta, and she went to that facility all the time. I trusted the brand from our experience in Atlanta and am happy that PP-Hobby has lived up to the Pet Paradise reputation. I feel comfortable leaving her, often 4-5 days at a time because I travel frequently for work. The location is perfect for me to drop her off, park at Pre-Flight (which PP has coupons for), and get to the airport terminal - all in 15 minutes. The indoor/outdoor kennel set-up of the facility is a BIG plus, because my dog likes to be outside, but doesn't like to play with other dogs. At PP-Hobby she can sunbathe and enjoy outside in her own little space. Depending on the day, helpfulness and courtesy of staff members vary. I've had really great interactions with staff on certain days. Other days, the staff aren't as knowledgeable, but they may be newer employees. The manager and assistant manager (Robyn) are really great. On one stay, my dog had an upset stomach and the manager called me to ask if she could give my dog some medication. I agreed and when I picked her up, they gave me a detailed rundown of how she ate, what her stools looked like, and sent us home with an extra packet of the medicine. The staff also do a great job of learning owners, so when I walk in, the staff know who I am and my dog. Only major downside is that the facility isn't really "24 hours". You can only drop off early (before 7 AM) and pick up late (after 7/7:30 PM) with 48-hour notice + extra $$$. Last minute travel changes really can't be accommodated. If your travel plans change last-minute and you can get to PP by 8/8:30 PM, you may be able to catch someone there. Call earlier in the day to see if anyone is scheduled to be there a little later. If not, you'll have to get your dog/cat the next day. For me, Pet Paradise has been a trustworthy, dependable, and convenient facility to leave my dog, so I'll continue taking her there. Compared to some of the smaller, more "mom and pops" boarding/daycare places closer to our house, I'll take Pet Paradise any day. read more
