I just called for inquiry about pool and spa/hot tub opening service. Ind who answered the phone states yes they have opening service for pools, but when asked about hot tub/spa I was asked if it was inside the pool ? I stated " no it's an outside hot tub/spa," individual very rudely stated "no not interested!, and immediately hung up the phone. Individual has very poor customer service. Update 7/30/21: Mr Channey just called me after reading my review to say "I know you're selling your house you better hope who ever is buying it doesn't hire me to inspect thre pool".... so you can add threatening behavior to this review of his professionalism as well! He has never seen my pool nor has been to my home. I called him to see if he was available just to clean it after a big storm! Just spoke with him on the phone and he said "venmo me 2000 dollars and maybe I'll go by there. I have no intention of taking care of your pool" . Then he hung up! Insane! read more

I called and talked to Troy, the owner, about a pump motor replacement. He asked me to send him an email. I sent him an email with the pump motor pictures as requested. He never followed up with a quote or schedule as I had asked for in my email. Five days later, two of his guys show up, don't announce themselves, and go around back to begin the repair. I intercepted his two technicians and told them that no quote or schedule had been provided and I had not given any authorization to proceed. They left. Troy called me back late that evening and quoted his price and schedule. I explained to him that I had already found someone else because I hadn't heard back from him. He told me to "never call him again" and hung up on me. We proceeded to trade emails. He was unprofessional to say the least. I'll never call him again and I'd recommend that you don't either. read more

Chaney pools installed a heater for us this year during the Covid crisis. They took care of everything very promptly and professionally. I did have an issue with the heater itself and it was fixed just as quickly. I never write reviews but the service was way above and beyond what I am used to seeing these days. In our opinion, Chaney pool service leaves a lot to be desired. The first year, the service was great. But in the subsequent years, service quickly declined. Attendants put chlorine in our fountain which was not on the list of to dos. Chlorine tabs went missing and the owner offered no explanation. The decks were not cleaned. Our 1800$ pool cover was stored without any advice on how to store it. When put on for the fall, a hole was in it. We paid for maintenance and advice on the care of our pool and sadly did not get what we paid for. read more

Troy Chaney performed a pool opening. He'd already come by to estimate work, yet had to make two separate trips. On the invoice it stated he replaced a push-pull valve. How did you not do know to do that from the $300 full pool inspection you performed for us before starting any of this work? Refused to remove second trip charge. $100 for about a 15' visit. Became indignant and rude when I asked about it. Said he should've charged more for the work, but he was "taking care of us" because he "thought we would be getting weekly service". Left my yard with mud all over the area near the pump because he didn't siphon and channel the backwash. Left debris from pipe fittings, ball valves around my pumps. Left pool with a chlorine deficit as determined by Baker pool testing same day after Troy left. I got Baker asap because I didn't trust Chaney's work. Slapped with a $740 bill in addition to that $300 pool inspection. Will never, ever hire this guy again. read more
