I haven't stopped raving about it since my daughter started a few months ago. Ms. Quynh was incredibly professional and guided me every step of the way through the enrollment process. She was always quick to respond and thorough in her communication, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The environment felt safe, clean, and welcoming from the very beginning. The cost also felt very reasonable and huge bonus is you work for the state or healthcare as there is a discount (not sure if they are still doing this but I was able to get the discount when my daughter started). One of my favorite features is the app they use to track the children's daily activities. I love being able to see photos and videos of what my daughter is doing throughout the day--it gives me peace of mind and helps me feel connected even when I'm away. The teachers are so warm and attentive. On the rare occasions when my little one is having a tough morning, they were patient, creative, and compassionate in helping her adjust. Knowing she's in such good hands has been a huge relief for me as a parent. Earliest drop off was 7:30am and latest pick-up was 5:30pm. What really sets L'Academy apart--beyond the amazing staff--is their language program. They teach Spanish and Mandarin, which has been a wonderful way for my daughter to learn about different cultures while also stimulating her intellectual growth. In the short time that she was there, 4 months, she learned how to count and say certain animals or objects in Spanish and Mandarin. I can't recommend L'Academy enough to my friends and family. I was really, really hopeful that this program would work for my children. I initiated contact…read morethrough the email provided on the website, and received a response from the admin. assistant a few days later. I had a variety of questions that the website did not answer for me, such as.... Is my child assessed for their current Spanish comprehension prior to being enrolled in one the programs they offer? How is that done? Formal assessment? Is the current class offerings full, or is there a certain enrollment period? For private lessons, do I pick a time, does the teacher pick the time? I find these questions to be simple enough, but sadly it took over a month of ME pursuing this business with phone calls and emails to get all questions answered. I think it odd that I had to go to so much work to try and give them my money. Eventually, 6 weeks later, I was paired up with a Tutor who I thought was going to assess my daughter and determine a class placement and provide me with more information (curriculum, assessments, contracts, commitments, etc.) While she was extremely nice to me, interactive with my daughter and cheerful.... she knew close-to-nothing about The Spanish Immersion Program. According to her, I would be paying Spanish immersion a lot of money to have her come over once a week for an hour and hang out with my daughter speaking conversational Spanish. I don't expect or need a textbook for my kid. But for it being a business that provides a professional service, I was expecting a little something more. To show that I was getting my money's worth. A Pre & Post evaluation that says, "look, we have goals and guidelines and your child is reaching them. See?" Maybe something that says the tutors are background checked, formally trained, and come with prior teaching/tutoring experience. something. anything. I made one last attempt to speak to the Director, who couldn't remember off the top of her head what the rates were for classes PLUS tutoring (because I really don't think the cost and time for one hour a week would be effective). She never followed up, so I ultimately took my business elsewhere.

Not only do they check off all of our boxes but they offer so much more than we could have ever asked for. In addition to providing a safe and secure environment, every staff member truly loves what they do and cares about each and every student. It is a home away from home and I know that each day that I leave my child in their hands, that she is more than well taken care of. They are extremely communicative and share classroom updates, school news and photos of my child each and every day. We love that it is project-based and a STEAM school as she has already learned so much! Additionally she is learning how to speak and write in Spanish and Mandarin! There is one class per grade which adds to the home like feeling since the school is small and more intimate. 1:8 ratio, each class has a total of 16 students and a teacher and educational assistant. So each child gets the attention they need. They also provide individual educational plans. The students learn BOTH Mandarin and Spanish. And they also offer global studies. It's project based learning so not a lot of homework and busy worksheet type work. I'm blown away with everything CIS has to offer my child! This school is everything I thought it would be! My child is thriving so much! And it feels like a real family here. I love how small and intimate it is. And I'm really looking forward to my child growing up with her classmates over the years. David explained their philosophy & curriculum, and made sure we were a good fit for what they offered- this is not just an after-school free play program. We were invited to sit in on a class, which we did. There is a fully printed & bound curriculum workbook that coincides with the daily lesson plans. They have their own printed posters & supplies (nothing is cheaply thrown together here). The teachers are topnotch bilingual & trained- which I personally appreciated as there are other programs that just think because someone speaks Spanish, that automatically qualifies them to teach. Not so. Most importantly is that my daughter enjoys going to Spanish. I was worried that she'd get burnt out or bored and that it would become pulling teeth to get her to go. NOT EVEN CLOSE! The curriculum is engaging & interesting, her teacher is responsive and encouraging, the class size is small and the children are friendly. We are 4 months in, and my daughter sings in Spanish, teaches ME Spanish words, translates material, talks to others and orders her own food at Mexican restaurants in Español. We feel very much welcomed & at home here. David & Ruth are some of the most sincere and inviting people you will meet. It has been worth it!

Sombrero Time is an excellent full immersion Spanish Language program for kids ages K-6 Grade. My…read moredaughter has been attending ST for 5 years and I am amazed at the Spanish she can speak, write, and understand. We recently went on a family trip to Costa Rica and she was interacting the the locals and acting as our interpreter the entire time. The structure in the ST classroom (full immersion, no English spoken) enables the kids to think in Spanish as they learn, rather than translate the English words into the Spanish words in their brains. The teachers are all native speakers which means the kids are learning proper accents and enunciation. The curriculum is tailored to the kids' level and is clearly communicated to the parents at the beginning of the year and throughout the year. There are also several presentations per year where the kids present on various subjects, as well as progress reports given to parents. Overall, a phenomenal program and I would highly recommend it.
