We've been season ticket holders for several years now and have enjoyed their productions. From…read moremusicals to comedy and drama, the players and crew are enthusiastic, involved, and energetic. Last night we attended their first performance in their new adjunct, The Playhouse, located in the Cedar Hills Crossing Mall, of a short play called "Anybody for Tea?" by C.B Gilford. Done in improve style, the cast was, according the introduction, given scripts and some time with the director before the presentation, but they'd not met each other and had no idea who was in other roles or how it was going to play out. We recognized several of the actors from previous productions, including the play's 'coach,' the always talented, Les Ico. The only down-side was a bench that broke during seating, but the folks looked to be fine and the bench was quickly replaced by chairs. I hope they do more of these smaller productions along with their main stage plays. We'd definitely attend. It was great fun and the Peachwave just down the mall has a non-dairy frozen dessert offering that's pineapple and not vanilla.

The Long: Ted single handedly gave me the fortitude to transition from stage to film, and made me feel in control and confident while doing it. When I came to Ted, I had recently graduated from theatre school, and though I had been acting on stage for years, I'd never really explored film. I wanted to be able to do both, but was overwhelmed on how to start. Enter Ted. He met with me, had me do an scene, and talked me through a specific, personalized, game plan for practicing film in class and on my own, based on where I was at in my career. Ted is a confident yet humble teacher, he's an artist at giving a small note that makes a big impact, and he keeps his direction focus, and (stressing this again) personalized. Now, years later, I am very fortunate to work almost primarily in film, and honestly have Ted to thank for jumpstarting my career. Finding a good acting coach can be difficult... Luckily, you can stop looking now. :)

My son started voice lessons at VOX via Zoom during 2020, transitioning to in-person for several weeks before heading off to college. He loved all of it and those Monday night lessons were a lifeline for him as his other choirs and school music classes were postponed due to COVID. His confidence grew, and he was accepted into his college's competitive top choir as a freshman (Matthew also helped him with his college admissions' supplementary vocal performance materials and he landed a vocal scholarship). The recitals are great milestones and provide a real sense of community despite the age and experience differences. I'd recommend him to any one at any level.

True is amazing and made us so comfortable in her home. She generously offered me a cup of coffee before we started the class. Her home was also in a cute little neighborhood where parking on the street was easy to find. I grew up watching Bob Ross as a child and am absolutely in love with everything about him. It was really nice to be able to learn his style of painting and to be able to use the different tools for the different affects on the canvas. The overall experience was very therapeutic and I was so happy that my painting turned out so beautiful and amazing. I even brought my Bob Ross wig for the final pic of all of us together. I would definitely do something like this again and highly recommend True as an instructor if you would like to learn oil painting (Bob Ross style).

Because he will flip everything you think you know upside down, and that's when you're going to LEARN. I started his class and was a little unsure at first - his high energy is unlike anything I've experienced from an acting teacher. I AM SO GLAD I STAYED. His focus on you and your work is unwavering. His dedication to you and the class is more than I've ever seen in a teacher. He is on time, professional, and he sets you up for success - but you better be ready to work and to bring YOUR best! The class is a mix of beginners and experienced actors - something I was unsure about, but have grown to LOVE. Why? 1) Everyone in the class brings their A game 2) You will come to see that every single person has talent, and every single person has something to work on. 3) Joe will take you, wherever you are at, and make you better, FAST. I've been acting for over 20 years and I've improved more in the past 2 months than I have with any of my past acting teachers. This is not the place to work out your childhood. This is the place to become a great actor and to learn the business. DO IT. PS - He is a legit, pro actor from LA with many big deal acting credits to his name, but he's humble and seriously wants to help you in any way he can.

If you are planning to have rehearsal here or do a performance watch out! The last couple of…read moreseasons my dance company has used this venue and they are the worst! Last seasons show we were just harrassed a little bit about the stupidest stuff. There was a Conduit class in there before my rehearsal and someone left a paper cut and I got a email about it. Even if you do everything possible to lock up the studio after hours they will blame you if someone sets off the alarm and not give you proof and try to charge you for the police coming. Nobody really explains to you what to do and when they do its pretty vague. Also if you have two nights in a row they want you to break everything down(that you had to put up all by yourselves) and put it back up the next night. They make you pay for tech time and only give you a few hours. Our shows were at 730 and they did not give us the studio until 6....which meant set up with 0 time to practice or even settle in. But the worst part was, when we set out the risers for our audience to sit in. These risers were uneven and the legs barely were on. When you would walk to set out chairs on them they shook back and forth. When i brought this to thier attention they told me that we could use the screws in the closet there if we wanted to grab our power tools and do it ourselves. REALLY? Then they expected us to lift these very heavy risers and set the upright against the wall. I did not have my dancers do that because it is highly unsafe and we were never shown exactly how to put them back. I run a buisness myself and consider myself a very responsible person as well as my dance company and our husbands and friends( whom of which took all of us to clear out this space and still took a hour). I paid 700$ for two nights which is inexpensive for a space but not worth it at all! plus instead of the 100 seats they claim to fit, it only seats about 70 comfortable and without being ghetto and making people sit on pillows on the floor or behind a curtain. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!
