I had a pipe burst in my garage, loop in my heating system, no heat in below freezing weather. My oil company was no help, called Chanowitz and they sent Chris who was a godsend. First they came an hour later as they recognized the emergency, Chris replaced the pipe and then noticed a problem getting water back into the boiler and replaced a defective water feeder to the boiler and then went the extra 10 yards and while checking all the radiators to make sure they got hot found a problem with one of the valves that was preventing the bedroom radiators from getting heat and now he has our entire house toasty and better than before the water break. Woke up this morning to our furnace not working and it being 55 in our house. Called Chanowitz Family Plumbing and was directed to call Mike's cell. Called and he answered right away and said he would be there within 2 hours. 1 hour later Mike showed up!!! Thats fantastic for a weekend!!! So responsive. It ended up being a simple fix, as the emergency switch on the way to the basement had been accidently shut off (damn kids!). While looking at the furnace Mike noticed a part that had been leaking. I've been using CPH for years, and their craftsmanship has consistently been top notch. Mike and crew make my furnace purr! On or about the second week in January 25 I had a fuel drop. Almost immediately my furnace began to misfire. I did not know NYS had changed the quality of the fuel. The Wednesday after the fuel drop the furnace failed. I did what I could to keep it running, a couple of simple things, filters/screen/nozzle. Got it running but not great. Called Mike, and after a long brutal workday, Mike came over at NINE O'CLOCK AT NIGHT to check my furnace, before the snow and cold snap. I have found it necessary to call Chanowitz Family Plumbing on 3 different occasions in the past year. Each time i spoke with Mike Chanowitz and he was able to schedule my service for either later in the day or the next day. The first time i met Jake who is the youngest of the employees. He fixed my toilet issues in record time and was a very professional and personable young man. The other two times i saw Chris who explained each situation thoroughly and not only fixed the problems but was delightful to talk to. Called MIKE for a estimate on a boiler he returned call same day. When he came out to see what I wanted he was prompt even 15 minutes early which I liked. We talked about what's out there in boilers and combi units and I decided on a Weil McClain boiler he worked out a estimate which got back to me in less then a week and I decided to go with him . He installed boiler on Oct 9 and I also had a toilet installed. MIKE is a professional businessman and knows what he is doing his helper was also professional . Right from the beginning the truck came. It seemed like all young kids. I was worried but they were fast. They were efficient and they were very professional. I was very satisfied with the work they did. Especially the leading installer Rico. He was very knowledgeable about what was going on. He was on top of everything.
