Curious I decided to turn and drive into the suburban street where there are 6 shops next to each other. Besides the butcher the bakery was the only shop open. Walking in the aroma of fresh baked bread and other goodies filled the air. A couple of shelves of bread and a table with various baked goods from muffins and croissants to Almond horseshoes and pastries. I love pretzels (and they make a couple of styles) and most of the ones I see at the mall are either hard and dried, out or greasy and buttery. These pretzels on the other hand were fresh and baked with just enough sea salt to give it a little bit of flavor. This also seems to be the local spot for coffee. In the back they sold a number of German goodies, which added to the authenticity of the place.

If it survives my dissection and eating process it is a goodun' The top came off in one flakey piece. The pepper meat filling was mildly peppery and filled the case. That is the bit I eat first, then the casing and finally the top. Beautiful. The dining buddy's seconds was an American chilli beef. I got a bit of a lookin with that one and it was good too. We finished with an iced coffee and it was bloody good too. Disadvantages of the place is that you could find yourself sitting in a draughty walkway and finding a park is a challenge. It is definitely worth the effort to give it a try

(insert superhero theme) This place has a lot and i mean lots of varieties of cakes, pies, tarts etc. On one side you have the coffee area and mini cakes etc on the opposite end they have the cakes for birthdays and other special occasions. The seating area is along side the arcade and at the back of the store. They serve hot pies and sausage rolls as well as small quiches or family sized quiches for those quick dinner nights. Order and pay at the counter if you would like to dine in. They will hand you a table number and bring out your food/coffee. Can be a bit slow if there is queue waiting to be served but staff are friendly and helpful.

This place cops a bad rap for the appallingly rude staff - and this true. The little old lady is the nicest, but the two younger ladies often have a bit of attitude. But you can be like that when your cakes are this great! And in saying that as much as I dislike rude staff, I will continue going here because they're good.

Such a crisp base...... *drool*.... this is what I wanted. The only shame was that I could not have an awesome cup of coffee with it...
