I've had this place bookmarked for years. Maybe I'll try their dessert tasting menu someday, but…read morejust the regular desserts I tried were nothing spectacular. And on a late weekday afternoon, they were sold out of the drinks that caught my eye. The desserts are fine, but some of the prices are so expensive that I don't feel like I'd miss out on much if I didn't get them. The average price seemed to be $28 for a dessert smaller than the size of my palm. While some of the flavors were more unique, based on the ones I tried, they weren't actually good combinations or just blended together so that you might as well be eating one flavor.

After eating dinner somewhere else, my friend and I stopped at Koi for dessert. We go there only 30 min before close, so there weren't a lot of desserts left. We tried two of them - a pandan cake and a mango dessert. They were both beautiful looking, but don't recall being blown away by the taste. And it was very expensive. I thought to myself that it was not what I hoped. But I'll give the benefit of the doubt that maybe at the end of the night all they have the less popular desserts left. Next time I'm there, I'll give it another shot.

Hungarian donut? Cone of deliciousness? Kürtösh? Call it what you want but it's so good!…read more My friend recommended the hazelnut Kürtösh but the pistachio one looked so good that I did what any normal person would do... got both! I preferred the pistachio Kurtosh. The hazelnut one was like candy on top of the cone and very crunchy like candy. These are made to order so take around 10 or 15 minutes. Not really ideal for a grab and go but was worth the stop. They have a ton of other pastries as well that are pay by the pound. The kurtosh was really good, especially with coffee. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if nearby I would definitely go again.

It's quite good. Honestly, I'd say forget the pastry twister and go one of the Slab Cakes instead. Oh, so good! So far, my favourite has been the Catastrophe Flourless Choc Cake. Or mayyyybe actually the Lemon Crumble Cheesecake. Pretty much mention Mum's Chocolate Cake and I'm ready to trip someone over for a bite! If you can't choose, you could order a sliver of each and call it day. This is the best bit about Kurtosh - everything is sold by weight, and there's no minimum (or maximum) for what you buy. So you can literally order a sliver each of four kinds of cake. Hoorah! Extra bonus: open late so you can pop in for after dinner dessert.

That and a coffee and I'm set to rest my feet and tackle the day. The orders aren't always right but it always seems to be ok. It's spotlessly clean, has a pleasing staff with the interior being done in a Swiss decorative way though I must confess I still don't know the exact meaning of the large brown and white cow motif other than to guess it might somehow symbolize Swiss dairy products. For breakfast I overindulged myself with eggs, sausages, meats and of course some traditional Rosti, the Swiss National dish, with sour cream and chives which I found to be the equal to any I've had during my travels in Switzerland. The staff is extremely pleasant, well-mannered and polite, and though the table dining area somewhat cramped, adequate enough.

With a deliciously long list of ice cream flavours, toppings and sides to choose from, one can only imagine the magnificent, calorie-crunching combinations possible. However, if the sight of all those flavours and combinations makes you dizzy with excitement that it's simply impossible to choose, a few pre-set desserts are on offer to make life just a little bit easier. Such choices that include the 'Choc Liegeois' and 'Fraise Melba'. But who says you have to choose just a few of those mouth-watering flavours? Why not just have it all by ordering the 'Rainbow' a mountain of ice-creamy goodness. Literally. With so many different flavours stacked on top of each other, smothered with chocolate sauce, this baby is enough to feed you and five people. And if you're still not satisfied, the guys at the French Riviera have also got their whopping 'Maxi Rainbow' which is made to serve at least eight. If the ice cream just isn't doing it for you then their savoury crepes just might. But let me just ask you this, who goes looking for shoes in a hardware store? I rest my case.
