    Mexican Mocha Latte
    Ana A.

Small town coffee shop. Coffee was great! Ordered the Mexican Mocha latte. Service was good, however, it was kind of hard to ignore the personal conversations going on around us with the staff and their friends. I mean personal, personal conversations. Overall, it was a cool little spot.

My friend wanted to come visit this cantina this past weekend, so on Saturday we came out here for some drinks. It was a nice evening in Lockhart so we went for a stroll before coming here. As we were walking in, we appreciated the artwork on the exterior of the place. Nice vibe inside also, very southwest. You're supposed to order at the bar, there are no servers taking orders from your table but the owner was walking by and she took our order anyway. We ordered a couple of drinks, some dips, mini tacos, and quesadilla. I really liked my first drink, which was the tamarind margarita. The avo crema and queso they had were really good too! It's a cute little spot to come out for drinks and snacks, def will come back!

We really love this little coffee shop. Their coffee quality is high whether it's a straight up drip or a fancy espresso drink. We pop into Lockhart from Austin from time to time, and we never skip a visit here. The staff is busy, but friendly. Food-wise, we've only tried the pastries (not sure if they're from a local shop or they bake them there) and they are tasty.

Would I drive here from Austin to get a coffee? Hmm, perhaps! Everytime I pass through in my way to the coast, I stop! This coffee is THE BEST coffee I've had in Texas thus far. Or maybe it's the staff that makes it perfect? The vibe is so chill, the smiles are abundant, and you can't go wrong with anything in their menu. I'll be back!

Sweet little coffee shop in downtown Lockhart! Awesome service! Our sandwich was delicious and I loved the Pecan Toddy!

Cappuccino with extra shot of espresso, it was perfect!!

I stopped by at CC on our way to south padre, I liked it so much so had to stop by while coming back, it was Sunday late afternoon, so there weren't much people, so was able to order as soon I stepped in, ordered drip, but it was barely warm, so I let the girl behind the counter know about it, he took my cup and realized it was barely warm, so she made a fresh pot, and it was so so good, I think I liked there drip even more than the cappuccino, such a lovely place with friendly service and positive vibes with solid coffee options, what more you can ask for:))

Picked up a great iced coffee and a cappucino at this little coffee shop. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was their machine for making frappes was broken and the reviews on frappes led us to this place. Oh well, the drinks we did get were exemplary.

Wonder place to enjoy quality time with somebody you love and the food is so good and so healthy

Cutest coffee shop around! I happened in on this friendly Marfa-like haven & will definitely go back. Try the iced pecan coffee drink ;)

I got the pecan toddy which was just enough sweet to not over power, but enhance the other flavors in the drink.

The glazed carrots had a light maple taste that paired really well with the dish. The temperature in the restaurant was perfect, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. Service was spot on too--Anna took great care of us and was incredibly patient as we shared stories and even offered a few decor suggestions. She was attentive without being overbearing. The music was great and set at just the right volume, which made it easy to relax, enjoy the meal and hear the conversation. That said, the decor could use a bit of improvement. No offense to the artist, but the prints felt a little odd and too small for the wall space. The overall layout of the restaurant could also be better--it didn't feel as cohesive as the food and service deserved. Also, the hardwood seats could use some padding for both the back and bottom to make longer visits more comfortable. All in all, definitely worth checking out for the food and atmosphere, with just a few areas that could be elevated.

I have to say the food was very good, and the service not outstanding but acceptable…read more The ambiance was ok, I found the booths to be small for four grownups. We ordered queso with chili and it was $6. What arrived was a very small bowl the size of a sauce dish. One thing I did not really like was that when our meal was finished, our waitress just showed up with a handheld with a total and tip already added in. I know some places do this for large groups but there was only 4 of us. The total was $90 for three entries, two margaritas, a queso, a coffee and four waters. No iced teas or sodas. Seemed excessive but the way they just bring a handheld with a total, it's impossible to check what is on your check and how much each item was.

Service is always great, even if they are busy. Once in a while, a mariachi band will be playing for the customers, and this can be a tad loud. I personally prefer dining in when they are not playing due to the loud noise is a trigger for my TBI. However, many absolutely enjoy the show. They also offer a couple of tables out front if you'd like to dine outside. Definitely a MUST for anyone driving thru town to try. Our favorite for sure!

Our first time visiting, and embarrassing to say that being we've lived here for 4.5 years now…read more What can I say, we are creatures of habit. The place is small, however, they do have outside seating if need be. This place reminds me somewhat of a Waffle House, in the sense of you walk in, take a seat, and they will get to ya when they get to ya. They do aknowledge ya tho. Friendly too. Decent amount of options available to choose from, including breakfast all day. Depending on when ya go, it could be crowded and noisy, or not bad at all. Definitely a spot where certain locals seem to go on a regular basis. The food was okay. I mean, nothing I'd write home to mama about. Not like a "slap yo mama" type meal. It was edible. And definitely made a turd. We did enjoy it as it was something different for us. And, our waitress was very kind.

Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a very inappropriate interaction with our waitress, an older woman who took our order. While taking our order, she looked at my husband and me, then looked over our children and asked, "Where did you get these kids from?" My husband and I are both very fair-skinned, while our children have darker complexions. The comment was shocking and completely inappropriate. Because my children were hungry and we didn't have time to go elsewhere, we stayed and ate. Later, when I went to pay after my husband had taken the children outside, the waitress brought up my children again. I explained that her comment was rude and inappropriate. She then tried to change what she had said, claiming she was asking which one of us was the biological parent. Not only is that different from what she originally asked, but it still would have been an inappropriate and personal question to ask customers. I left feeling disgusted by how we were treated. No family should have to answer questions or face assumptions about their children while trying to enjoy a meal together. To make matters worse, the restroom had no soap and no toilet paper available. The lack of soap raises concerns about proper handwashing and hygiene practices. This was my first visit, and sadly, it was not the welcoming experience I had hoped for.

The firewood sits on the ground as you walk in as a part of their open-fire cooking style bringing smoke into the brick pits. These new school smokers don't do it like Smitty's. As we walked in at 10:30, there was no line. We asked for the simplest order. A single slice of brisket and a single slice of turkey. It was about $12 all in. As we sat down with one of the 4 pieces of butcher paper for 2 slices of meat, I noticed that there are no forks at Smitty's. Just knives. We got to work. The turkey was fantastic. Barbecue turkey is honestly an underrated concept and their turkey was juicy, soft, and would change any Thanksgiving meal to one for the history books. I was extremely disappointed in the slice of brisket though. It was extremely chewy like plastic. Decently seasoned but not tender at all. Probably a bit undercooked. It was worth visiting for the experience, especially to get a picture next to the fire pit, which one of the people on staff was nice enough to take for us. As we walked out, we noticed tons of their awards and recognitions. It's cool to give a classic originator of Texas barbecue a hat tip like we did. RIYL: The originators or fire on the floor
