* Inside of Jo's Cafe is quite small, I'd say about the size of a two bed apartment in San Marcos, yet does get the job done. *The barista does yell loud so if you're looking for more of a library style quiet bar, I wouldn't recommend. Also the small size of the place, makes the noises extra loud. You'll be able to hear someone's detailed conversation... Not my vibe but if you like to eavesdrop this is the place! *People are in and out ordering coffee and matcha. The matcha is sweetened already so no need to add vanilla syrup into the mix. A large (20oz) iced matcha comes in a tall Togo cup. *Great spot for reading a book outside on the patio. Sun cover is present. *Free water and plastic cups are available by the entrance door. Water is great to have access to yourself inside of going up to the counter continuously for a refill please. read more

We visited Jo's Cafe for the first time recently and were more than pleasantly surprised. We weren't exactly sure what to expect, but it was lovely! Counter ordering/pick up with tons of seating (indoor and outdoor) and great prices. The person at the cash register was really nice considering there was a HUGE line behind us, plus the barista complimented my dress! The setup feels quaint and homey. We sat in the most beautiful little corner with bay windows. The food is super simple, but really good! We each got one of the breakfast plates and left full and happy! read more

A small little food/coffee cafe. You'll walk inside and place your order. They have limited seating inside and tables outside for seating as well. They have a few options for food. I got the breakfast burrito. I do like how your able to pick what you want in it from their choices. I believe you can pick up to 4 or 5 breakfasts items. It was a good sized burrito and very filling. They also have a variety of coffee flavors/drinks. I'll be honest when I say that I was expecting a little more of their coffee but it wasn't bad. Its served in little foam cups. Decently priced. You clean up after yourself. You'll throw your trash away and place your dishes in a bin. Nothing fancy. Best matcha by FAR. 9/10! Not grainy, not bitter, not too weak, not too strong. Smooth and amazing. Only criticism is that I got the cosmo and wanda (strawberry matcha) and I had never had one with strawberry before only lavander. I was not a fan. The combination was off putting to me and clashed (the strawberry was pretty strong) The matcha part was superb though, next time I'm getting just that. The food looks extraordinary!! Big plates of bright, love filled foods. It's a bit pricey for me (a broke college student) but I think it's 100% worth it. The people working there are as sweet and wonderful as the coffee and food! They're always happy to work with you and add a really great atmosphere to the place! **Note** It can get a little crowded inside, it's a little small inside the cafe so you'll likely be sitting outside. A little confusion at the counter as they were also receiving a delivery, so I am sure that contributed to my order being input incorrectly. Ordered a 3-egg, ham and sausage burrito and received a chorizo and egg burrito...was swiftly remade correctly and was good. My wife had French toast, also good but a little overcooked. A steady stream of customers, but not overwhelming. Parking can be a challenge, but plenty of on street parking within a couple hundred feet of the restaurant. We were tired of the free hotel breakfast so we looked for a breakfast place open on New Year's Day, I found this place through Yelp and it looked like it had good reviews. We called just before to make sure they were open and then went around 10am. The parking lot was empty which is always a perk. I got the vegetarian tacos - as someone who doesn't eat egg and is a vegetarian it's rough for me to find something but This place had food! I also got iced chai tea. Came in because of the chorizo breakfast taco reviews I ordered 3 tacos and have to say WOW! The chorizo was perfectly cooked, the flour tortillas were fresh and the egg with potatoes made my choice excellent. If you need a really great, quick, tasty taco you should hit this place up. I've seen this place around a million times and finally tried it today. $30 for me and my partner, we got two full meals and drinks. The Almond Joy latte is AMAZING. All the food tasted absolutely perfect. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. There's a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere in there that's hard to find. This is a small coffee house and breakfast shop. Parking is very limited so take that seriously in a college town if you don't want to be towed. I've eaten here at least three times possibly more. They have a unique breakfast menu that is delicious. I ate here on Sunday, November 5, 2023. They were having a pumpkin pancake special that day that was delicious. I had three people in my party one had an egg sandwich that was in a class all of its own. I had the breakfast platter that came with sweet potato fries and enjoyed every bite. We also ordered the à la carte with the pumpkin pancakes and some eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. My only complaint about this place is they don't serve any regular cups of decaf coffee, only a decaf espresso. I thought it might not be too much trouble to keep a small container of decaf coffee on hand that you just serve someone with some hot water. They have just about every type of coffee you could want here. It's usually a busy place. You should get in line immediately to place your order. I think most college kids know about this place and can probably tell you whatever you want about the menu while you're standing in line. If you have time for a real sit down breakfast this place is worth going to. read more

This is a college venue. You wait in line, you order, then they call your name, and you pick up your food. Staff are friendly. Unless you ask, their menu has no prices listed. Their prices basically for our breakfast was $15.00 per plate. The food was mediocre. Pancakes were fair,French toast was lacking egg, made it more like bread. Coffee was watered down but they fixed this for me. In a pinch it was OK, but just can't give it more then that. read more

Today was my first time visiting this local cafe. We came to get some coffee but after coming in we smelled all the food cooking in the kitchen. I ended up ordering a breakfast burrito with black beans, avocado, mix veggies and potatoes. I have to say that burrito huge and it was so good. I have tasted many different burritos in my life and theirs is packed full of flavor. The salsa was good and fresh and spicy. To drink I ordered a medium Mocha Frapp with almond milk. That was the best tasting frapp ive had. I have to say it was not too sweet, and it had the right coffee to mocha ratio. My family ordered breakfast sandwiches and they loved it. The freshness of the ingredients truly hits your palette with mouth heaven. Stars 1 star for food 1 star for facilities 1 star for overall experience. 1 star for variety of foods - stars for restrooms. (Did not visit. ).
