This place is an amazing gem hidden in a plaza. When you walk inside, it has a feel of small gas station and cafe mixed together. There is plenty of seating to sit and enjoy a good breakfast meal with a beverage of your choice. Their service is customer friendly and fast. The food servings they provide I felt are fortunes right so you are not wasting food. My buddy and I decided come here after we finished qualifying at the gun range outside of Lockhart. Expecting it to be okay since it's the breast but it exceed all expectations. The waffle is nice and soft/fluffy not too sweet but sweet enough to be eaten without syrup. The whip cream tastes home made and is absolutely delicious. Also had a sandwich but it was just okay, we tried the crab cake with Benedict eggs and the egg was good as was the English muffin the crab cake was a little disappointing. A month ago we visited and the experience was great, I'm not sure what happened in that time but the consistency is lacking. We tried the chicken fried chicken and you could tell it was a frozen patty. We were really hoping for a homemade meal. This place is a GEM! We stopped by to enjoy lunch and the food was absolutely fantastic. Service was good, given the fact the place was PACKED. There wasn't an available seat to be found. The wait was not too bad. I will say that it's quite noisy just from being a fairly small space with a lot of tables. We ordered from the menu, there were plenty of choices available for everyone. Today was my first time experiencing Market Street Cafe and I'm giving them 5 Stars for Food (omg amazing), and Service (everyone was friendly and conversational to us and our baby), and speed (we got seated and served quickly). We went just after 2pm on a Sunday - they do close at 3pm so we were cutting it close. Someone immediately greeted us, wiped down the booth and seated us. Our servers Madi and Will were helpful explaining the buffet and breakfast/lunch menus. I ordered the Fire Star French Toast (lrg) with scrambled eggs and sausage on the side. Sarah ordered the Strawberry Lemonade waffles with scrambled eggs and sausage on the side. Both dishes came out within 12 minutes and were plated superbly. The food tasted better than it looked! The outside and inside of the cafe are pretty low key and non assuming. It gives hole in the wall vibes, which we know means the food will be amazing. The inside was clean, brightly lit, and small. We came after the brunch Rush so I'm sure it can feel cramped inside if every table was filled. I wish there were more restaurants around the Central TX area like this one and until we find another, this is the one I'll be sharing with my friends and family. Met a friend at a quaint cafe in Lockhart to catch up but was so distracted by the yummy menu! The Ruby Shoes sandwich was made from house smoke pastrami, house fermented sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and a mild sriracha mayonnaise on local baked marble rye bread. All toasted, moist with a rich flavor. Onion Rings were fat and crispy and all washed down with sweet peach tea. Just the right amount of sweetness. We absolutely love MSC! We started visiting them when they were on the square in Lockhart, and love that the current location is about 5min from the house. Obviously, we tend to eat the same meals, but we have purchased from the menu, come in for the buffets, and ordered turkey and ham for Thanksgiving the last two years. We usually go in when they open (10am) so that we don't have to wait, but have also successfully used the reservation service for Mother's Day. A diamond in the rough! Don't be deceived by the storefront, this is upscale casual dining in a casual space! We went for lunch and we were surprised they had a complimentary pickle bar with so many options. The French fries were SO GOOD! Found this place while looking for something not BBQ in Lockhart! It is SO good! The ambiance is fun - it's like a diner and a deli and an art gallery all in one. The staff is so so nice and the menu system is unique with the TVs and the remotes (or you can use your phone!) and the help you navigate it. Husband got the Philly cheesesteak and I got the Farmers Sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. I couldn't believe how big the Farmer Sandwich was - no side needed. My husband really enjoyed his cheesesteak and shared his curly fries with me! All of the art is really unique and I think it's done by someone local or maybe the owner. We arrived around 9:30am and let me tell you- that was the right call because about 30 mins later, that place was packed!. It's right down the street from where we were staying camping- Lockhart State Park. You have the option of buffet or platters. I got the steak and eggs- always! It was delicious! The side of bread is homemade and fluffy as a cloud. The steak was ordered medium and I've never had a steak cooked to perfection. The eggs were flavorful and the potato's were a delight. I love this place, the quality and quantity of the food is amazing. I had the Market Street Hash, it was delicious, the best I had in Texas! The fried potatoes, the veggies ,the homemade sausage,the Texas toast made from scratch, and over easy egg for me. My spouse had the avocado toast, that was as delicious. The freshness of avocado, the toast, the balsamic vinegar and pickle red onion. Plus they have a free pickle bar! The service exceptional, friendly, informative and speedy. It is in a small area of businesses and has a fun decor and some small but clever touches such as cloud ceiling panels in random intervals and cool art on the walls. Several big screen tvs you scroll through with a remote. It's a little awkward at first and might now please all but it is handy once you get used to it. We started our magical food journey with Boudin eggrolls..I know I had the same thought but these were so fantastic. I am part Cajun, grew up with Cajun food and usually not impressed with restaurants but this was just perfect. I had the All American Breakfast with sunny side up eggs, braised pork, ham, and sausage. The eggs and ham were good. The pork had a unique flavor but not one that appealed to me and the Sausage was, well legendary. Shana had five star French Toast and was in love. I think had she met that first we wouldn't be together. She also loved the Sausage. We then both tried the bread that came with the meal. As Shana put it, the bread was so good if this had been a fairy tale it would be magically poisoned or turned you into something. We even bought a loaf to bring home. The chef uses a starter that has been in the family for 30 years. Sadly all things must end. We were full and it was getting busy. We paid our bill, which for the amount and quality of this mana from the gods was more then reasonable. The food here is amazing and I find myself constantly thinking about the breakfast monte Cristo. Honestly one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. So perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. And the sweet potato fries they are every bit worth the hype. Crispy, hot and salty, so yummy. I also tasted The New Jam sandwich and it was darn tasty too. Great small town diner with a weird, out of place menu experience. They have their menu up on screens and give you a remote to page through. You have to get up and go up to the screen w the remote. It's awkward b/c it's a small space, so you're hovering over other tables. Even then, you can't read them because of the glare. Not all screens have the entire menu (we ordered, then looked at another screen and realized there were pages missing from our screen that we would have ordered from). A few screens are broken. Whoever sold them these screens should have integrated with their online menu so folks could use their phones. I'm from the restaurant industry so I feel bad that someone sold them on these screens. I'm assuming the selling point was that they're POS-integrated for when they 86 something. I would rather order from my phone or a paper menu and be told something is 86'd than navigate this terrible system. It was a bad way to start the experience. The food was as good as everyone says. Had the eggs + greens which were fresh + flavorful. The service was super friendly and timely. They were frazzled about the screens that weren't working so again, these pesky screens are getting in the way of an otherwise great experience. read more

We went there based on yelp reviews and honestly it was the best meal we've had along our travels through from FL to AZ. We were told the menu changes daily based on what the chef decides to offer. So the menu is on the multiple TVs I around the restaurant and we were given a remote to access the many pages. We asked our server what was particularly good and we took her suggestions. I had "The Big Easy" penne pasta in creole cream sauce and husband had the toasted Brussels sprouts and Shrimp scampi with a light Caesar sauce. Both were served with homebaked sourdough. Such a cute place with a wide variety of food. You can tell the chef knows what they are doing here because everything has great flavor and is prepared beautifully. This is more like 10 stars! We were driving through town and didn't want to stop at a main street 2 star place. The menu is daily fresh! The menu changes to the Chefs availability to fresh ingredients. I ordered the omelet. Never have I tasted an omelet so delicious. The eggs cooked to fluffy perfect. I pick pulled pork for my omelet. It was blended so well that there wasn't that stringing pork texture. Each plate came with this delicious bread. I told the waitress how great it was, and it's baked daily, and they sold the bread there too. I had to get it. They also sold cinnamon bread. I used this at home for cinnamon toast, amazing! If you're a pickle lover, there is a pickle bar! Of course, the pickles are made in-house, and you can buy a fresh pint! The service was so on point. The servers were super knowledgeable about the menu items. She offered information on the food, sauces, and how fresh everything is. The whole staff member has a passion for this place. The restaurant gives you this home vibe. You think you are walking into your basic cafe, but with further inspection, you see care and love. The artwork is one of my favorite Austin artist. I own many of his prints. The Chef I found out is a huge fan as well. The artist is Tim Doyle. We bought an all-American breakfast, pork omelet, 2 loaves of bread, a pint of pickles, 2 drinks, and our bill was $68! When we left, the place was getting packed. Very disappointed. Put in to go order at the cafe and waited at the cafe for 30 minutes with no one even checking on me. I had to go to the counter and ask where my food was. In about 5 minutes they handed me a bag with my order (which was cold) with no explanation or apology for the delay. Also, the prices are quite high compared to the same food at other restaurants in the same town. Very poor customer service. Maybe you will have better luck, but I am never going back, and I will not recommend this cafe to any of my friends. read more
