*I am never on yelp, I maybe reviewed 2 places but I was morally obligated to share my experience in hopes to give perspective couples insight. *If there was an option to give a 6 star rating, I would give Chapel on the Hill (as an establishment) and Quang (the maestro) 600 stars. Venue: -Small wooden A-Frame chapel nestled in the middle of nowhere amongst redwoods. -An enormous and vintage bridal suite with sweeping views. -A succulent filled, amber string light lit, impeccable manicured outdoor area. -Three equally spaced restrooms for 100 guests. -Plenty of parking, but getting there is tricky. Owner/manager: -Quang if you're reading this, you made our wedding (which was the most stressful and anxiety ridden events in our life due to 5 or 6 major set backs) the most memorable, unforgettable and joyous day of our life. If I were to replay one day over and over again, without a doubt it would be 10-9-21, so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. -He was the most responsive of all of our vendors. -He actually extended our reception an additional hour. -He was on site the entire ceremony/reception to help facilitate. -AND if you are still reading this and I applaud you if you are still here (I saved the best for last), Quang drove me and my wife home to San Jose during our wedding night. Hidden Gem right by the Highway 17!! We changed our wedding event from big indoor party on December to small intimate wedding on November (I dont recommend November as it does feel very cold) due to the pandemic. This venue was perfect as they charge hourly, and does not have any minimum--food and beverage cost, like other venues do; thus makes renting the place so much more affordable than other options. The place is also super pretty! In case of rain, we can use the chapel. Thus, it's like having plan A and B in one place, without having to use tent (tents are expensive!). We also got the bridal suite, so you dont need to rent hotel before. Based on my experience, having everything in one place is a plus! Due to pandemic, we do not host any dining event/alcohol at the venue for our safety reasons. we also all get tested (all negative) during the week before the event for safety precautions [for the vendors too!]. Indoor event is also discouraged. This venue's garden is very beautiful. Quang is very helpful and responsive! we have lots of last minute changes because the sunset time is tricky and because of the pandemic and the live streaming. the available time is 10am-evening, so evening time is better. since our family cannot attend the wedding, we also did live streaming, but receptions were not good. however, AT&T can work fine via instagram live. other social media such as youtube and facebook will give you buffering. I'd give 10 stars if I could! We got married here (small event, under 20 people) after having to postpone our larger, originally-planned reception due to COVID restrictions. I thought this would be an incredibly stressful event to plan with just 2 months notice, but Quang couldn't have been easier to work with. He was very flexible with us, and was in constant communication as we navigated the changing guidance around event details (number of people allowed; indoor/outdoor; how to serve food; sanitizing stations, etc). The chapel and grounds are absolutely beautiful and create a warm, intimate space. We weren't able to hold an indoor event, but used the chapel for our first look and had the ceremony and a lunch reception in the garden. We were also given access to a cottage with a small kitchen, living room, and bridal room. We really couldn't be happier and feel so lucky to have found this place in what felt like the last minute. read more

I had the great pleasure of attending a small wedding here at the Chapel on the Hill. What a charming spot. Near the summit in Los Gatos is this classic Chapel which was charming and inviting. I was asked to walk the bride and " give her away " to her future husband. What an honor to be asked to do that. Tidy and spotless it was like going back to a simpler time. My friend who invited me said he had a good experience with the proprietors of the chapel and I must say the staff was friendly and accommodating. Where do we start. This venue is EVERYTHING we could have ever dreamed! The chapel itself is simply sweet and beautiful and the surrounding space/reception area is breathtaking. We barely needed any decorations because it was so enchanted and magical! Quang was so helpful and genuine throughout our entire process and him and his wife were fantastic on the day of our event. It was easy to plan with outside vendors and Quang gave some excellent recommendations as well. We had about 105 guests, a bit of a tight squeeze inside the chapel but our guests said they were comfortable! We were able to store supplies and food the night before in the bridal cottage and that's also where the bridal party got ready the morning of. My wife and I had our wedding here in April and it was so amazing. We both love the redwoods and flowers surrounding the Chapel. My wife and I meet in Santa Cruz, so we thought it was an amazing place to have our wedding. The weather was perfect in late April. The Chapel has plenty of parking space in the front and Quang (owner of chapel) will be there to guide your guest. Quang is such a nice person, always willing to help and make your wedding be the best one. I really appreciated when I asked Quang if we were allowed to release butterflies outside the Chapel at the end of the ceremony and he was excited as we were to make this happen at our wedding. Our guest and family were fascinated with the Chapel and the outside garden. I am happy that we chose the Chapel on the Hill and also that Quang was always there to help us out every moment of the way. To make a long story short (as possible): I had my wedding planned for October 2020 and unfortunately that didn't happen not only due to covid but the wild fires in the surrounding Santa Cruz mountains. The time from March through October 2020 trying to plan in unpredictable circumstances was so chaotic and an emotional rollercoaster for sure. Through it all, Quang and his family who own the venue were so understanding, kind and are just genuinely good people. They worked with me to change dates, to update me on what was possible and what was not, and give us as much flexibility as possible given we were planning with no idea of what the next day would bring. Ultimately we decided to get married in a much smaller style and didn't follow through with the larger plans we had for the venue but it was not with out a heavy heart. It really felt as though my husband and I had been supported in so many ways that were outside what a vendor would do for a client and really didn't want to marry anywhere else but it was just one of many tough decisions we had to make. You should check out this venue not only for its simple beauty but because you will have such great experience working with the owners. My husband and I stumbled across Chapel on the Hill in August 2019. As soon as we set foot on the venues territory and met the coordinator, Quang, we knew this was the perfect setting for our special celebration. Just a few days after our visit, we booked our wedding for September 2020. Then came the unforeseeable onset of the current pandemic, leading us to postpone our celebration to 2021, and then cancel our event altogether. Although we never got to experience our event at Chapel on the Hill, working alongside Quang was a true blessing. He handled every question and concern with the utmost care and respect, and was incredibly accommodating throughout our entire wedding planning, postponement, and cancellation process. He repeatedly extended his support and offered check-in calls on several separate occasions. While we are so disappointed that we did not end up having our celebration at this venue as we originally intended, are so grateful to have had the experience of working alongside the team. We continue to hold a special place in our hearts for this venue, and highly recommend Chapel on the Hill to anyone who is searching for a beautiful wedding venue with a stellar support team. This review is definitely long over due. My husband and I were married almost 2 months ago at the chapel. We also had our reception there as well. When people ask about my wedding day, it's hard to explain because it was such an incredibly beautiful day. Quang was nothing short of amazing, he helped us so much the day of the wedding and kept in contact through the whole year of planning. He put out all the tables and chairs for us. He was even kind enough to get bottled water for the reception that the caterer had forgot. He did a wonderful job at handling the situation to where I didn't even find out until the next day. We live almost 2 hours from the venue so email communication was a big deal, Quang always answered in a timely manner, even when I didn't. All of our friends and family loved the venue, being right off highway 17, you'd never realize it. Quiet and beautiful. It was a dream come true. Everything I ever imagined and more. We had about 60 people and it was more than enough space. I would relive my wedding day a million times if I could. Chapel on the Hill was the perfect spot for my wedding day. read more

This place is definitely a hidden gem!! One of the most affordable places I have ever found in the bay area. Super convenient to get there and no need to worry about parking. You can either rent for half day or full day with different prices. They have a cute bridal suite for brides to get ready and a kitchen. This place can accommodate up to 140 people. We selected this Chapel for our wedding ceremony in November 2015. We had just family attend, and had about 50-60 guests, but the Chapel could hold 80-100 guests. Parking is great, just enough for those who are attending. The venue was perfect for us! Quang, the owner, worked well with me and was very flexible of what we wanted for decorations, timing, etc... I personally didn't want so many decorations, just some candles around the front alter. The chapel itself was very simple but elegant, plus the natural lighting of the outside worked well! The only very very tiny issue I had was finding the place! Glad we went to visit first a month or so before our event date and check out the place so I can prep our guests. I made sure I had balloons outside as a marker, and theres no real turn lane to get in, just a quick right turn off the fast hwy! So just a word of advice, prep your guests in advance for directions or markers for yor event! But overall, I enjoyed workig with Quang and had a memorable experience here! The Chapel on the Hill was a wonderful venue for our small, intimate wedding ceremony. Quang was extremely friendly and helpful during the preparations, answering every question we had about decorations, equipment, facilities and timings. We arrived a bit earlier, which was no problem at all, and were allowed to use the small cottage to the side for the bride to get ready. The chapel also has a beautiful garden area around the back, which was perfect for photos. We wanted a fairly simple but elegant ceremony, so had some candles at the front, along with flowers attached to the first two pews. We brought our own keyboard and table, which was fine, and also had some food set up outside. Overall we'd really recommend the Chapel on the Hill, especially if you're looking for a venue that's reasonably priced that caters for small to medium sized events. I came across Chapel on the Hill on my way back from Santa Cruz. We were considering Renewing our vows here. The Chapel is absolutely beautiful, rustic and very shabby chic looking. It has sort of a gothic feel to it, perfect for any couple, religious or not. Surrounded by beautiful redwood trees and plenty of parking for your guests. Quang is the best, his father (who lives onsite) was amazing too. I highly recommend this venue for a timeless wedding! They truly want to make your experience what you've dreamed of. The Chapel itself is so quaint, but the surrounding grounds are immaculately kept as well. We got so many great photos from our day because of it. We also were able to use the small cabin adjacent to the chapel to finish getting ready. I'd love to stay there for a weekend escape because it was so darn cute!
