You won't feel like the place is packed like a normal multiplex ( which I appreciate ) I've only ever seen them open for 2 showings on the weekends. I wish they had more showings ! The film selections are indie, arthouse, documentaries, and foreign. Nice date night idea too.

I went…read moreto college at University of Delaware so I did come to this movie theater location a little more often when I was younger, and it's kept its local college town charm while moving up to modern times. I went to a mid-day movie time during the work week so it was not crowded at all. I decided not to buy my tickets until I arrived due to the service fee of $3 and knowing I didn't have to worry about it getting sold out or not having seats that I would like. That's the number one change here that I appreciate and that's the selection of the seat. The main reason I cannot give this theater 5 stars is because while the seats function well the "leather" is severely damaged (at least they were in #5 theater). I also prefer the stadium seating though the recline of the seats do help to limit the seats in front of your row being in view. The bathroom was pretty clean and immediately after the show ended the staff was cleaning; not much since was only 4 people in my movie showing. Overall a good local theater that provides everything one would expect.

All the seats were excessively worn. Some so bad they had holes in them. Overall very disappointed.

Tickets are 3 dollars cheaper here than any other theater in the area. Popcorn and drinks are also cheaper compared to other movie houses. Some theaters are less modern and do not have electronic seats but there are still large, comfy, and slightly recline. Great place for a decent price!

Having had various professional affiliations with this organization over the past ten years or so, I've seen this orchestra experience remarkable growth in recent years, due in large part to the energetic and artistic leadership of conductor David Amado. I suspect most people don't even know the DSO had a national release (Telarc, I think!) recording last year with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. (Which was nominated for a Grammy!) They're that good! The DSO has been progressive in their programming with a nice mix of the standards, and a few out of the box productions like the orchestral scores to the Bugs Bunny cartoons - performed live WITH the films. But most importantly, the orchestra is composed of first rate musicians, performing in the historic, beautiful (though admittedly - a bit dry) hall that IS the Grand Opera House. (Worth going to a concert just to catch a glimpse of Wilmington, circa 1900!) As one who has become increasingly passionate about supporting local enterprise, be that the nearby, sustainable farms or family owned fine dining establishments, I hope more Delawareans will come to realize that they have this fine orchestra right here in town. These are difficult times for orchestras all over the country - hoping this one continues to thrive!

Opera Delaware is the main opera company in Wilmington, Delaware ... about 40 miles south of…read morePhiladelphia. They perform at the lovely Grand Opera House in Wilmington. They usually mount a couple of operas each year from the standard repertoire. But this year they have broken out of that mold and landed a biggie. Opera Delaware had just presented the east-coast premier of a long-missing opera - Amleto (Hamlet) by Franco Faccio. This was an opera that was thought lost for over 125 years until its rediscovery at the beginning of this century. Needless to say, many opera critics and aficionados are heading to Wilmington to see this lost treasure fully staged. Tonight's opening night was glorious. If tonight is any indication of the direction Opera Delaware is headed, it has a grand future!

I saw an R rated HORROR film that started at 10pm at this theater. Directly behind me was a group…read moreof young adults or teenagers and a toddler. I let the employees know that there was a toddler and expected them to remove the child and parent from the theater because they are supposed to check IDs for the 17+ age requirement and clearly that wasn't done (and a toddler of that age can't consent or choose to see this type of movie; they are forced to). The parent and group were approached by management and nothing came of it. They allowed a toddler to witness a horror film and for the rest of the theater to hear the child's noises throughout the film. I won't be going back. I expect an R rated film showing at 10pm to be child free, and children shouldn't be subjected to the scenery in such a film. Completely unacceptable on the parts of the theater workers and the parent(s) of the child.
