I only go here when I'm visiting my dad but I wish we had a movie theater this nice in Chicago! They blow all the large multiplex chains out of the water. The concessions area is so clean and organized and they randomly have delicious cookies?! Seriously- try the Snickerdoodles! They're super buttery and delicious. While I have no desire to go to a movie theater given the pandemic, I have a soft spot for Westown and I hope I get to return soon when I'm back in Delaware. read more

Dirty dirty dirty. We saw Spider-Man in the gtx theater and it was so dirty and grimy. The floors were sticky and covered in popcorn. I would understand if it were back to back showings but it wasn't. read more

This theater is not your typical movie chain theatre. They are very personable and they always make me feel at home. The art on the wall is a nice personal touch to the city. I am a big fan of watching a film on nice screens with amazing sound, let me tell you, this movie theatre is much better than the bigger guys when it comes to visuals and sound, especially that big GTX screen, WOW! I watch a lot of movies in a lot of theaters, so I can get very picky when it comes to where I watch my movies. This is my go to theater when I am in that side of town. First, deducted one star for not getting reclining seats. However, this was a very good experience. Comfortable seats and reasonably priced concessions. Yes, you read that correctly. The person at the register was very pleasant and did not need to wear a mask while robbing me. Booked online and no problem using my tickets on my phone. don't order using their archaic system of in person refunds only - despite charging a $7 processing fee for online payments. Apparently they are still in the dark ages and require you to drive to the theater to get a refund in person - if you can't go to the theater, I explained I have Covid and would gladly accept credit for another show- but would not be able to make it to the theater before the show time. According to "one of their managers" the are unable to do anything outside of the box. very disappointed in the lack of customer service that this outdated policy provides to patrons who are willing to come and spend money at their theater. the woman I spoke to was nice- but not empowered as a manager to provide the good customer service that a dying dinosaur such as movies outside of the home should be advocating. read more

I visited your theater on Tuesday December 26th and I can say with complete confidence, that this was the worst theater experience I have ever had. The huge crowd - the holiday rush coupled with the discount Tuesday prices - caused what should have been an expected and well-prepared-for busy evening. Instead, your lobby and concession areas were a mess and people were standing around in lines to nowhere. Your staff was completely uninformed, lacked any collaboration/communication and ultimately confused every single patron. The customers were creating our own groups and order by asking each other what the hell was going on. We got no answers or help. Lines for Jumanji turned into a line for Star Wars, but not really Star Wars because "uh..we don't know. Here's no line yet. Just stand around somewhere." When a line was finally created -- after repeated requests from customers- there was STILL confusion, and two lines formed. One official line and a random line of entitled people who would not move from directly in front of the theater. Your staff did nothing to combine the line or create ANY sense of order and fairness. I am absolutely enraged as I sit here writing this to you. I don't know that I will be able to enjoy the film after such an absolute chaotic and unprofessional experience. After this evening I'm not sure I'll ever return, and will recommended friends follow suit. read more

A pleasant theater but the screens have a distorted aspect ratio that kind of throws the image off. Nothing deal breaking though. The bar is a nice addition but the 2 drink limit is lame. So if you planned to come a few minutes early and pregame a drink or two you're in for disappointment because the bartender cuts you off before you can wet your whistle.. I mean I get some people can't hold their booze but they need to up this limit to 4 at the least. The drink prices are a bit high anyway. 6-10$ for a beer so I doubt anyone is going to spend a fortune getting shitfaced. They do have a small but decent craft beer selection on tap and also some other selections in a can. On a plus note you can bring the beer into the movie. Just drink it slowly because you only get two drinks per movie!! The concession stand is nice I guess. The food seems like decent quality. But I balked when my kids asked if they could get an Icee when I saw the 7$ price tag. Like really? 7$ for frozen flavored ice in a cup? The term highway robbery comes to mind. So COVID shuts down the world and it's the first time at the movies in 2 years. My daughter invited me to this theater to see Halloween. Looks like an older theater no biggie. I order 2 popcorns and get some candy with a 2 sodas 35 dollars. Go to our seats to find out it's the stalest popcorn I ever ate. The kind that sticks to your teeth it's so stale. After 30 seconds of that I put the popcorn on the floor. I will just eat my Twizzlers. Well that was just as old and stale as the popcorn. My daughter looks at me and I tell her you gotta be kidding me. So I put that in the stale popcorn as well for the trash. Not 5 min later a couple comes in with a 2 year old girl and a 4 year old boy and sits right in front of us. I guess it's ok to bring children to a Rated R movie these days. All they did was talk the entire movie. All you heard was Shhh from all the other annoyed customers. I'll just save my money next time and stay home. I will never be going there again. read more

So proud of Middletown for having a movie theatre. We don't have to drive to peoples plaza or Dover anymore. They have a bar, different kind of screenings, the new movies and reclining seats. Concessions aren't horribly expensive and it feels clean. read more

Went to see The Force Awakens. The parking lot was full, it took awhile to finally get a spot. I got some popcorn that was a bit stale. But, they were busy so I let that slide. The GTX theater was awesome. The screen was large, and the sound was incredible. You could definitely hear more detail with the Dolby Atmos. The seats were so comfortable I could have taken a nap in them. I had a great time overall. The movie wasn't too bad either. read more

It's ok. The slow card and ticket readers were really annoying. Concession was a little patheic. Also a negative was people buying movie tickets in the snack line because that really slows everything down because these morons have to figure out seats with a already backed up line of people who already have tickets and just want to buy popcorn. I bought mine on my phone. Or even buy them at a kiosk at the front door.The recliners at the mall may make that ride more worth it. read more

We were disturbed during the movie to have our tickets checked even though the group that was in the incorrect seats didn't have to produce their tickets. This is the best movie theater I have ever been to! As a Dover resident, I have constantly taken the 30 min drive to get here, instead of seeing a movie at the Carmike theater in Dover. This theater is great. I don't know what to say, really. Regular ticket prices are $11 for non Matinee Adult. Tuesdays are discount days were every ticket to every show [excluding GTX and 3D] are 5.50 [GTX and 3D are 8.50]. Tickets can be purchased on their website - no fee or at the kiosk at the theater. Staff is there to help if need be. Concessions are a great price. 2 for water and a max of 7.75 for Popcorn [NOT 11 like other dirtier theaters] Lobby is clean - and has a BAR!!! There is food and ice cream etc. They have charity movie days and summer kid $1 movies. Once you have your tickets and snacks it is time to enter your CLEAN, COOL SPACIOUS theater. The seats are leather/leatherette and wide with arm rests that go up. The seats rock slightly. There is enough space to shift your legs around without bashing the person in front of you. I travel 30 minutes to go to this theater instead of the one that is 10min from my home. read more

The manager came out and yelled at my group of kids who paid for tickets, concessions, and arcade games. Were they rowdy? Sure. But that gave her no right to scream at them to leave then glare at them their entire walk out of the theater. (Note: it was raining and some of the kids were waiting on rides, so we had to stand in poor weather conditions because we were literally scolded out the door.) A simple "don't do that" was all that was needed. As their chaperone, I was disgusted with how this place treats their customers. Regal Cinema is the same distance for me with way better seating anyway so I look forward to taking my business there from now on. read more

Location is great because I live in Middletown. Used to have to drive to Glasgow but not anymore. Sometimes the staff can be a little "moody", but what do you expect for teenagers working there. I go here about 20 times a year or more not really ever over crowded, most customers are good decent people who go here, never had any issues. I've built some movie theaters in the last year for Regal and AMC and Westown movies is right there with the rest of the big theaters as far as seats, and finishes. Food and snacks could be cheaper but they all are high. the main reason I'm even willing to take the kids here is they play country music in there hallways and bathrooms. May sound silly to some since I aint going there to listen to music but to me it shows that they respect there neighborhood and the people who live here. So keep playing country and you will keep my business. Oh and by the way with 7 kids plus there friends I spend more going to one movie then most will spend in a whole year going to 5 movies. The staff is polite at least from what I've seen. I would say they are one of the few good Improvements to Middletown. read more
