So I went with my wife as she wanted to try this place, predisposed to disliking bagels. This place is near Maya cafe, a Subway sandwich place and two Pakistani restaurants. My wife chose a bagel deal with chicken & bacon declining the cheese, French fries and a 330ml Diet Coke at just under £6.50. The fries were hot and a good portion, cooked in vegetable oil. I had a piece and found it pretty tasty with chicken breast and well grilled, proper crispy bacon. The service was ace and I wouldn't hesitate to return here for coffee and bagels. Their coffee was pretty good too and good value. I suppose it's an upmarket Mc Donald's meal but a tad pricey given that the next door Spice of India offers a 3 course £5.95 lunch. The downsides are a mix of me being picky with my own quirks. The place is very small. It offers student discount so targeting them but not pensioner discount and it gives its bagels American titles like Tennessee. No disrespect to our American cousins but what's wrong with wheee we live; Down, Antrim, Armagh? Oh and bagels can't be legendary. Here they are just fast food.

So I started with a chicken Caesar on a multiseed bagel and a cappuccino. The bagel might have been a bit too crisp / dry but still tasted like I remembered and liked them. Later I had a hot chocolate with marshmallows (surprisingly two big ones) and an americano and for lunch a chilly tuna melt again on a multiseed bagel - this time perfectly fine. In total I spend a good four hours here and loved the atmosphere. As it is a bit off the beaten track it's rather people from the surrounding offices coming in - a lot of them regulars that got greeted accordingly. The staff didn't mind at all me sitting there for so long and was very friendly to me and everyone else. But most of all I enjoyed how relaxed it was sitting there. So even if you're just sitting down for one bagel or sandwich - being surrounded by features of a Georgian house - even with mantelpiece - makes you feel like sitting in a living room.

My gf had a breakfast bagel, which comes with a small coffee till noon (~5 €). They have two outside tables, so you can sit outside while you enjoy your breakfast. I love both Bagel Bean cafes as they both serve exactly the same great food and coffee. Superbly scrumptious bagels and salads. They have a huge menu listing every bagel you could possibly think of. I especially love the Vegetarian Selection on the menu, with the Napoli Melt being my absolute favourite. I prefer this cafe on Market Street as I think it has a better layout. Plus it has a great outside seated area for summer time relaxing and there are more interesting 'people watching' opportunities on the busier Market Street. There's also an awning too, so you can sit outside even if the weather is not so great. Unfortunately the other Bagel Bean on Lower English Street doesn't have such a luxury. I would highly recommend Bagel Bean as it serves the best bagels I have ever tasted. You can also get takeaway from both Bagel Beans which is good as they're such busy cafes, hence getting a table can sometimes prove difficult. This cafe is one of my favourite places in Armagh for food. Bring a book, have a bagel, drink great coffee and relax whilst watching the world pass by. My idea of heaven!

They have breads, pastries, cakes, biscuits and desserts of different kinds. They also have nice bagels here and their bread theme is about varieties from different parts of the world like France, USA, Ireland, UK and perhaps other European countries. The only thing missing for me was the dense seeded breads so common in Germany. It would be nice to have one or two of those here. Their stuff is good and I loved their fruit scones, granary bread and bagels. Happily come here again. Staff are nice and their products are fresh.
