    Chicken bowl.

Went back today for lunch and tried the chicken bowl. The flavors and color all stood out on their own. This is a good option if you need that little extra to stick on the bones :) ...btw, still get the chick peas on the side, they taste delicious.

My friends and I have been eating at Charcoal Kabab for years. The kababs and Karahi are the best in the DC area! If you like spicy food you just have to ask them to make the Karahi extra spicy. Lately they have added some new menu options to expand the already very good menu. One of my favorites of the new offerings is this made-in-store Afghan dessert speciality. It is delicious! It's smooth and creamy, and the nuts and cream that are offered make for a complex and delicious overall taste.

This is my GO-TO Kabab spot in all of northern Va. Fresh produce and quality meats combined with perfect blends of spices makes for top notch eating! The atmosphere has really stepped up over the years and gives authentic Mediterranean vibes! Staff is always friendly and meal prep is quick!! Give it a try- you'll love it!

I have been eating at charcoal kebab for almost 25 years but off late the quality of food has really gone down and the prices have shot up exponentially. We went in earlier today for lunch, and I ordered the tandoori chicken, which was not very flavorful and very dry, my buddy ordered the keema kebab, which was a bit more decent and flavorful but nothing like I remember from the past. Net net, we are disappointed in the lost quality, and I am not looking forward to going back again in the near future

I'd like to attempt the chickpea recipe served at this restaurant. Any hints as to what this style of chickpeas is called? TIA! What about those fantastic lentils?

It's fantastic isn't it!! Chickpea curry. This recipe should be pretty close: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/chickpea-curry-with-rice-2813244

I'm a local customer and live just a minute away, so I've visited more than once. I came in for lunch today with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son. After placing our order and sitting down, the server loudly yelled from behind the counter for us to come get our water. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially with a young child. When I placed my order, I asked for extra white sauce, and I asked again when the food came out. Both times, the request was ignored. I also mentioned that we hadn't received our drinks, but instead of addressing it, the server again yelled for us to get the drinks ourselves from the cooler. The food itself was okay, but the bread was very poor--hard and barely edible. I even called the restaurant later in the evening to share my concerns, but was told the server was off at that time. Overall, very disappointing experience, mainly due to the customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvement.

Non alcoholic drinks are not an after thought, the sour cherry rose lemonade is liked by kids, adults, and seniors. Service is warm and welcoming, the Rumi quotes on the walls and turkish lamps add to the ambience, parking is easy and aplenty. A few tips: 1. Go for the lunch menu if you are feeding a large group. It is cheaper. Or consider making the trek to where it all started, Afghan Bistro in Springfield. 2. Ask for the daily selection of cakes. The pistachio and cardamom are the best, not too sweet, light, moist, and fragrant. Of course we devoured the food before taking pictures but a couple attached.

The pumpkin dumplings and pan fried veggie filled dumplings were great as well. I thought my salmon wrap and the chickpea side was ok. Interesting flavors for sure. As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

I hadn't seen that before and I was skeptical before eating but wanted to try something different and it was incredible. My only pro tip is that when you order a veg main it's a lot of one thing, whereas meat mains come with a veg. Next time I will order the veggie combo option to get more diversity. Normally I write longer reviews but in this case I think I will let the food photos speak for themselves.

Also didn't care for the white yogurt sauce. It tasted and felt more like a salad dressing. The green sauce was really good, and I stuck with that for dipping. Service: fast casual. You go to the counter, order, pay, and they bring the food to your table. Ambiance: nice, new, and clean. Pretty generic. You could sub in any cuisine. From my experience, I would recommend ordering in person because they lost our online order one time and, if you order online, you can't choose your own combinations of kabobs and/or proteins (I personally like ordering the falafel and gyros). Food Ordered: * worth trying - [Salad*]: I usually like to order the salad base. Out of the kabobs and proteins I've tried, I would recommend the beef kobeeda, falafel, and gyros proteins. I have also tried the veggie kabob, which isn't bad, but not as good as the aforementioned proteins, considering it's only grilled vegetables. I liked the flavor of the chickpeas but I prefer a more melt-in-your-mouth texture in my chickpeas like the ones at Charcoal Kabob. The chickpeas at Reston Kabob were a smidge gritty. Also, I have to highlight the sauces that come with the meal; both the green sauce and the white sauce have the perfect amount of acidity with the green sauce being bright and herbaceous and the white sauce being creamy and not too yogurt forward. My husband and I really like the white sauce here, so much so that we bought a bottle of it recently haha. - [Samosa*]: I don't think I've ever had a bad samosa and this tastes like your typical samosa. - [Baklava]: I tried the one with pistachios and the one with walnuts. Comparatively, I liked the one with walnuts more because the pistachios tasted a bit off to me and the pistachio flavor was a lot stronger versus the milder flavor of the walnuts. The only reason I'm hesitant to recommend it is because I thought it was soaked in too much syrup, making it a bit too sweet for my preference. As a heads up, each order of baklava comes with four small pieces. Would I go back?: Most definitely! I'm not sure if this was a one-off experience, but I would not go back to this restaurant because of this alone.
