My sister always comes here when I come to visit her. They have great kabobs and gives you a lot of basmati rice with their meals. I got #14 which is chicken and ground f beef kabobs with salad and you get one side and I picked okra mixed veggies. I forgot to take a photo but the people are always nice and it's pretty fast. PLEASE consider branching out and making an additional location in Greenville, South Carolina! I moved here 5 years ago and I often tell people I only miss a few things from Virginia... One of which is your kabobs! There would be no competition for you here. Yet Greenville SC is known for being "Foodie Heaven". We have a ton of great food, some of the best in the country, but we literally only have 1 kabob place in all of Greenville (which is huge) and they've got nothing on your food. Kabob Palace is a great place to get kabobs from in the Centerville area. Inside there there's a touchscreen if you want to order without going to the counter but that is an option too if you find it easier to order in person. I went with my friends for dinner and they give you enough food that you will walk out of there wanting to fall asleep. I got the usual, #14 or the Chicken and Kubideh combo. With rice and veggies and naan, it is truly worth the price alone. You also do get one more side and I opted for chick peas. The chickpeas were hot so I did have to wait a bit to eat it but with the naan bread they were so delicious and full of flavor. I dont have much to say other than the staff member working in the front was kind and called me family so that was really heartwarming to me. This place probably gets a lot of repeat customers due to how friendly they are. I'll have to come back here soon! read more

Amazing place! Truly, such a gem in this area. From the amount of food you get and the service and quality of food, I could not recommend a better place!! I have been here twice and I've tried the chicken kebab platter and the chicken Shawarma platter, the meals have both been so delicious! Make sure to plan ahead and know that it might take a solid 10 to 20 minutes before your food comes out & the prices are a little elevated but it is so worth the wait & price!! it's always freshly hot & In my experience, the platters have all come with flatbread, and it is absolutely ginormous and delicious. Definitely able to share with 2-3 people (the flat bread). The seating area has plenty of seats and they have a water station so you're able to get water on your own. They also have two large TVs in the seating area while you wait and eat your meal. if you want a deliciously cooked meal with huge portions, you have got to go here! read more

No matter where I go, Kabob Express will forever remain in my heart It's like they say, the closest friends you have, the least amount of pictures you have with them. Same can be applied to the amount of food I've eaten from here and yet only have one pixelated (from an iPhone 6s) photo of my already touched food from several months ago. Now I'm remembering why I have Yelp in the first place- to give praise and appreciation to businesses like this that I can GENUINELY say, I'm happy exists and I'm happy I've tried out. TL;DR: Great taste, price point, portions, and for me convenience There are a handful of kabob places around my area. After trying a few places, this place is by far my favorite. The place is almost always busy, so try to call far ahead, or know the food will take at least 20-25 minutes. I think they also have a buffet, but have not gotten to try that yet, unfortunately. Portions are huge! Even my husband has difficulty finishing his order sometimes. FOOD: Bread (5/5): Their bread is literally twice the size of my face, and yet, I eat the whole thing every time Rice (4/5): idk if they season it or if it's the type of rice, but it is so good! Chicken (4/5): I will say at times, the cook can be inconsistent, but when it's good, it is GOOD. Tender, moist, and flavorful. Lamb (5/5): never too gamey and again, tender and flavorful Chickpeas (10/5): I LOVE their chickpeas. My go-to place for Afghan food was Food Corner in the hood but it closed during the pandemic. Luckily there is another Afghan kabob place not so far away at all. Kabob Express. I have tried this place twice so far for takeout and really like it. I like the chicken kabob that comes with fluffy long grain rice, a bit of salad and a choice of sides. Chicken is par with Food Corner but the rice is more flavorful and the sides are bigger. The prices are comparable. Looks like they do not have online order yet. If you go there and order, you will end up waiting for some time. I recommend you check their website and order by phone before you get there. This review compares a dine-in boneless chicken order relative to the other Kabob restaurant in the immediate area, to which I also awarded 4 stars. The chicken was a larger portion, but no tastier than the other place. The rice was standard white and brown, possibly more oily but tasty and satisfying. No orange rice mix-in. The naan was larger and fluffier. I liked the naan and thicker green sauce here better. The requisite side salad was smaller with little dressing, but I don't go to either place for the salad. Very friendly staff and service at both places. A little haphazard here, but in a good way. The TVs here televised live horse races today, whereas the other place always plays an adult version of k-pop. The table layout here feels more comfortable, with 2-tops by the window to watch mild foot traffic between next door businesses. No chickpeas for a side here, but the lentils here are outstanding. This will likely become my lunchtime kabob outing because of the chicken portions, naan and green sauce, comfortable atmosphere, and the lentils! Call ahead by 20 minutes. read more

I have had takeout from this place a few years back, but this was the first time I had the lunch buffet. Not bad for $16.99. The buffet has a chicken, meat, and eggplant dish offerings. Also, the usual sides such as garbanzo beans, spinach, and rice, as well as fixings. Fresh bread is part of the buffet, they were warm and massive. In the area, this buffet is slightly more than others. However, the food was good. Staff were friendly and quick. Small dining area, but here was enough seating where we didn't have to wait. The hot bar was HOT and I ordered Chicken shwarama/gyro platter to go. I asked if I could have side of chick peas and the gentlemen said it comes with it already!? Where have I been!? A decent place to get kabobs in the Fairfax area! Coming from Alexandria, I was in love with Kabob Palace. Alas, now that I'm further away I was trying to find something similar to it. It's been a long search, but Kabob Express is the best runner up I've found. The prices are more expensive and smaller portions than Kabob Palace, but that seems to be the case for all kabob places around here. The food itself is very good! The Kubideh and lamb kabobs are delicious and the rice is very good! The gyro salad is also yummy, and they provide a generous portion of gyro. My husband and I also tried the chicken kabob sandwich, which is delicious, and wrapped in a tandoori bread, so the sandwich is huge. I think the naan here is one of the best things on their menu along with the sauces! So overall, food quality here is fantastic which makes it all worth it! :) highly recommend anyone in fairfax area check out this place! read more

Food - 5 Service - 2 Ambiance - N/A I stopped in to get a pick up order and the cashier blamed me for how the order went. He said it was right and then I changed it. I thought, "if I changed it then it wasn't right because I'm ordering and paying for it". What he did with my order was he combined the extra sides and chicken that I purchased and charged it as a whole entrée. it was my first time ordering from there, and he could have simply said: "if you order this way, then it will be charged the same as ordering a whole other entrée; you may as well get rice and naan to go with it." he was so concerned about being fast that he didn't think about providing quality service. best kabob in the dmv!! I've been going here since 2014 and although their portion sizes have changed (due to inflation), overall their kabobs are full of flavor. They're 1) not dry 2) filling take-home meals 3) self serving sides (meaning you could get as much as you want just don't be greedy). Service is good. I recently moved out of state and I think about this place at least once a week, which is how often I used to frequent it, especially on my way home from the gym. It was the best kabob place I had ever been to and I tried several in NOVA. No one does chickpeas like they do!! The portions are large enough to split into two meals making it a good value. Where I live now you can get a kabob and two sides and it's easily over $15. At KE, its that price for kabobs, salad, bread, rice AND a side. My favorite dish all around. Super tender and juicy and perfect flavoring. I am not a fan of lamb but friend got it so I tried and actually enjoyed it. This is our go to for kabobs in the area. The food and portions are excellent. The ONLY downfall is the customer service. Especially if you order on a Friday or Sat night, be ready to wait and wait for your order and your order be screwed up. It's like they are trying to capture all the orders and can't keep up.
